The Hotel Viladomat in Barcelona

We booked a room at Hotel Viladomat for four nights with a friend. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a rundown reception area.

The room, priced at €250 per night, was moderately clean. One of the wardrobe doors was missing. The bathroom door frame was rotting.

After our second night, my friend woke up covered in bites. That’s when we pulled the beds apart and discovered the horror shown in the attached pictures.

We immediately complained at the reception desk and were given a new room, but in the end, we decided to find a different accommodation. Unfortunately, we lost a valuable day of our short vacation relocating and having to wash all our clothes at a laundromat. We can only hope we are not bringing bedbug eggs home with us.

To make matters worse, the hotel later cancelled our entire booking on Booking.com, likely to prevent us from leaving a review. This is deeply disappointing and feels like an attempt to silence honest feedback.

Small but cozy. The windows did NOT closed well so I advice you don not take ”city view” offer. Is very noisy and you can't sleep well.
Old furniture that must had removed long time ago, and in bathroom with beginning of mold.
In room was just ONE glass. I asked at reception many times for glasses and they said that don't have.:((..
Only some paper glasses.
So we have to managed that way.
Did not liked that at all.
For sure I will never come back again here.

There are several MITE/bedBUG CRAWL on the room bed which make me allergy. I receive nothing explanation or apology from the hotel after complaining. The staff words make me uncomfortable, “the mites are taken from airport” “the last guests in the room is alright” all excuses sound like it’s my own problem

I stayed from 17.01.25 to 19.01.25 in room 403 , and unfortunately, my experience was ruined by bed bugs. I woke up with multiple bites all over my body, which caused discomfort and stress throughout my trip.

The hygiene and maintenance of the room were clearly inadequate. I expected a higher standard of cleanliness from a hotel of this caliber.

As a result, I had to spend extra time and money disinfecting my belongings to avoid bringing the infestation home with me. This was completely unacceptable and ruined what should have been a pleasant stay.

I urge the management to take immediate action to address this issue and improve the hygiene standards of the hotel.

Disappointing, old and tired hotel, metro too far away, room small, bed very soft (one pillow only), no bench for suitcase, no view from 5th floor, breakfast extra at €12, shower in a bath tub (rather slippery). Can’t recommend it, wish I’d booked elsewhere.

Our Barcelona tour reserved these accommodations for us for our week-long stay in the city. This was the only reason we stayed in this hotel for as long as we did. If you need a place to stay for the night, fine, it will do the job. Taxis should be able to bring you back easy enough from anywhere in Barca because the hotel shares its name with the street it is on. The area immediately surrounding the hotel felt moderately safe during the day & early evening. However, as other reviews mention, while housekeeping will come & remake the beds, the sparse furniture in the rooms looks like it hasn't been properly cleaned in years & plenty of spots in the room had a thick layer of dust. We were lucky that our room didn't get too hot because we're not actually sure if we even had A/C. We just kept the blinds drawn while we were out during the day. Others in our group were not so lucky and truly needed functioning A/C. We did, however, have ants next to the bathtub after every shower for the first 2 days. We reported this to the front desk & the woman did come up with us to spray ant repellent along the grout line. Our Tour Director also reported this to a different shift at the front desk & both men there told her, "It's fine." The walls are paper thin, so you will hear all your neighbors as well as whatever flamenco dancer that starts vacuuming at 8 am. You can also hear all the noise from the street out through the windows. This was particularly noticed by us as our stay included the final match of the Euro 2024. Lastly, the hairdryer in our room died the second night. If we come back to Barcelona, we will definitely be looking to stay elsewhere.

My stay at this hotel was highly disappointing. The air conditioning was extremely weak, but maintenance claimed it was working. I couldn't change rooms because the reception insisted all rooms were full and only offered a fan. Additionally, the toilet flush malfunctioned, causing water to keep coming out. The overall facilities are old, and it takes at least 30 minutes to get to the city center. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

BUGS! Toilet Smell! I had an absolutely horrendous stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the incredibly rude manager. Her unprofessional attitude and complete lack of customer service set the tone for the rest of my visit.

The air conditioner in my room was broken, leaving me in an unbearably hot and stuffy environment. To make matters worse, the room reeked of a disgusting toilet smell, making it nearly impossible to breathe comfortably.

The chairs in the room looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years, covered in fungus and grime. It was revolting. On top of all this, I found multiple bugs crawling around, which was the final straw.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. The poor hygiene, awful management, and overall filth make it a nightmare to stay in.
