Medplaya Hotel Bali

We left the hotel yesterday. We were there for 7 days. Initially, I went on my vacation thinking that we would be disappointed with the hotel because I read a lot of bad reviews about the food and the rooms. Of course, for another year I am convinced that I should not trust the comments 100%. We had 7 amazing days there. The food was varied and delicious, the room was clean and welcoming, the staff was very friendly. Overall, we liked the whole hotel a lot. I definitely do not regret staying there.

Lovely this place we went for a family wedding,my husband and I stayed here with a few in- laws ,it's was lovely nice sized room, balcony, tv ,mini fridge ,even able to rent a kettle for the week at 2euro a day,we only had breakfast included and it was amazing so much to choose from no one could be unhappy with it, pool area is awesome. Love to go back

Had an enjoyable stay at this establishment recently. Slightly concerned by some reviews but I found that I need not have been concerned. We stay several times a year in Spain, usually 4 star hotels and I can honestly say that we were all impressed by the food on offer there. It was better than most but occasionally not quite hot enough though there was possibly a microwave somewhere in the restaurant? Usually is in hotels over there. The "steep hill" is only 100 yds high but may still be awkward for those who are very unfit. On the plus side, the hotel is in an excellent position in the resort. Our only gripe is that the sunbeds are the cheap and unadjustable variety with tired covers on them so the bars underneath coukd be felt on our backs. We spent more time on the plastic chairs for that reason. All in all, happy and will probably return.

We had room 1705 and had a lovely ocean view.
Downside No inflatables in the pool area No ball games in the pool and always a long wait for the lifts as only 2.

Positives Hotel and rooms are very clean Plenty of sun loungers , no need to reserve them. Food was really nice , plenty of choice , very pleasant to sit outside when it’s busy . Bingo and kids disco at night were fun . Nice firm beds Really powerful shower in room Great Chinese shop up the hill and to the right from the hotel that was really inexpensive ( reception staff told us to go there for pool towels ) Little all inclusive area where you could get crisps , make a sandwich and get a hot drink from 10am till 11pm ( only discovered this on our 2nd day ) short steep walk downhill to the beach Fabulous views from our balcony on the 7th floor Very quiet at night Negatives Arrived at 2am- nowhere to get a drink of water or a tea Silly green card you have to hand over to get a drink in a glass Very weak all inclusive alcoholic drinks - mainly ice and soda. You can’t get a tea or coffee at lunch or dinner without paying for it . No kettle in room Extortionate charges for safe and pool towels Only 1/3rd of staff were friendly

We booked a quick 4 Nights at this hotel, Flying with TUI but booking our room direct through the Medplaya website, we arrived around 12 and our room was ready, We were in room 1723, and we were upgraded to premium all inclusive through our Amigo card, the room had a fantastic sea view, From the moment we arrived we were so looked after, check in was swift, All the staff in this hotel, cleaners, bar staff, restaurant, entertainment managers are all so friendly, they always smiled & said hello in passing, Nothing was too much trouble. The food, Amazing quality, choice, always fresh, we were all inclusive, drinks were superb choice and quality, Top brands included. Entertainment was superb, every night, quiz, free prize bingo, followed by professional singers / Dancers, karaoke and dancing. This hotel has had a makeover, to a really high standard, it is so clean looked after. Special mention to Patricia on the bar. So friendly and makes sure everyone is happy. We had such a special happy holiday and we would like to thank the hotel, all the staff and management. Special thanks to Maribel who makes sure all guests are Happy. We have recommended this hotel to friends and we are looking forward to returning soon.

From the welcome at check in to all the bar staff, restaurant staff and the cleaners I was made to feel special. The chefs in particular deserve a huge pat on the back as the food offered daily was incredible with so many choices, from delicious salads to a choice of about half a dozen hot meals. They are hidden away heroes. My room was spotless on arrival and that continued every day throughout my stay, so a huge thank you to the cleaners. The bar staff do an incredible job considering the number of people they serve on a daily basis but to be remembered as the lady who enjoyed a glass of sangria before each meal was something special. I have had a fantastic week and would definitely return again. Even cardiac hill isn't that bad and I'm 77 years old

We visited in February and mid-week when obviously this hotel is way cheaper than during the summer holiday, plus when we got there we received a free upgrade to a family room, so my review is probably biased a bit by those two factors. The family room upgrade was incredible, much better than I was expecting from a 3 star hotel and it's easily one of the best rooms I've stayed in with so much storage space and lovely modern decor. The air-conditioning wasn't working, but it wasn't warm enough for us to need it so we didn't bother reporting it. Bathroom was a little dated but big enough.

Food was typical all-inclusive style buffet food but honestly it was way better than I expected and still plenty of choice, even out during low season. It was better than the food I've had at some 4 star hotels!!

Service was excellent!! Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful.

Bar was great, I especially liked that you were given proper glasses instead of plastic cups. San Miguel on tap and it didn't taste watered down like it sometimes does at hotels.

Location was fine, not too far from the busier areas. Parking can be tough, there are spaces on the streets nearby but you've got to get there early to get one. We ended up paying for parking for 2 out of 4 days because we couldn't get parked on the street, and it is a bit expensive but €18 per day, but with parking being very tight in the area and limited spaces at the hotel, I understand why.

All in all this was a surprisingly good hotel for the money, good food, good drinks and excellent room.

A good standard 3 star hotel, we thought the room was fine for our needs as a family of four. Views are great out across the sea and down to the pool.

Our room had a bit of an ant infestation, but it wasn't an issue. We did ask for them to take a look and they said it would be passed to maintenance team but not sure it was.

Food was good quality and ample choice at both breakfast and dinner. The chefs are constantly doing fresh fish/meat/eggs so there is always a hot option. That said, they don't seem to keep stuff warm so sometimes you get a dish and it's a bit tepid.

Vegetarian choice was a bit random. For example some days all the salads had fish or meat in them, and there was no labelling of what was veggie friendly. Also some of the mains (eg. Curries or main dishes) could have been veggie as there was often 3 meat options.

Four pools, all outside, perfectly fine for what they are.

Location is also really good, down a hill from the main road and the beach. Ten min walk from the marina.

Staff were mostly all very friendly and efficient. Good service all round from the front desk to catering and cleaners.

Would happily stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 days lovely modernised hotel, room nice size & clean & tidy and great views of sea & pools. We stayed half board food good something for everybody staff all pleasant always a greeting, rooms cleaned everyday. Yes there is a steep hill to hotel but not a problem for us. Down the bank over the main road and your at the beach. 4 euros a day for safe & 5 deposit which you get back. Would we return here yes definitely.
