In the middle of vacation ants moved in our room. Perhaps it was our fouls as soon as we left some food in the room. The hotel staff sprayed them and leaved a spay for us.
Before leaving we found a huge cockroach. Note: we lived at the ground floor
Animation was mainly for elder people, French and a bit English language
But be mindful this hotel accommodates mostly the French travellers, so language at the shows ,competitions, karaoke and other entertainment is almost purely French speaking. Didn't feel at home there, felt left out of interaction.
But if your lucky enough to be bilingual you'll over come this issue.
The first thing we saw when entering the room was a cockroach. Ants were everywhere, even crawling into the bed. The room, terrace, and the entire hotel area were dirty, including the dishes. Staff was unfriendly and there was clear discrimination - if you're not French, the animators and staff mostly ignore you and barely speak English.
Tables in the dining area get taken by others the moment you leave to take more food. The all-inclusive drinks selection was very poor.
We are extremely disappointed with this hotel and would never come back.
Positive:
- The price was a very good deal. Drinks are also included, only for cocktails you have to pay extra.
- The hotel is just minutes from the beach and also very close to other cool places.
- a lot of parking spots nearby (free).
- the animation team was very good and the evening program was very nice. (Mostly in French though). Music program very nice.
- guests were fairly normal, no excessive drinkers.
- The personnel was quite friendly (besides the old guy who takes the evening shift - he
pretends he does not understand you to avoid work, also if you try with Spanish he suddenly does not understand you).
- the rooms are big and the balcony is nice.
- contrary to some comments there is wifi. It's free and pretty good.
- the food is ok. Lot of things to choose from. Lot of fruits. They also really try to get some diversity in. Especially the vegetarian dishes I liked.
Negative
- the tap water is indeed salty - people told us this is a problem on the whole coast. It would be nice if they tell people in advance. It's also not drinkable, you have to get water from the shop.I heard other hotels are ok.
- the room service is generally really bad. Our room was not prepared when we arrived. Had to collect stuff on our own.
- some of the bed sheets had stains and blood on them. That was pretty disgusting.
- found a big fat cocaracha in our room (Foto bellow).
- A C was working nicely but was leaking quite a lot (the floor is a total mess after this, got a half a bucket of water drops - I don't know if this is drinkable). Only on the third night someone came to fix it.
- you have to pay extra for the safe. Totally unreasonable in my opinion.
- if your room is next to the karaoke bar it will be loud.
- the cleaning ladies were doing a really bad job. Also lyed one time that we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door when we didn't. Terrible.
- the old guy on the night shift is not so helpful.
Not sure whether to give two or three stars. Because of our short stay, the good price and location I guess three stars is fine. Don't think we will return.
