Decided to pay a little more for a hotel since my wife was coming as well. Requestes a bedroom with double bed. I needed to work late nights.
We got a room with two single beds. Short.. 1.90 my. My head touches the head board and feet pass the foot end.
Curtains that are too short and let the light in. Tiny TV in a far corner. Toilet under a sink so you can't sit on it straight. I requested another room immediately, but it was not possible. They were fully booked. The bed was made up as a double bed. It was a solution, not perfect, but acceptable. The bed was still short.

A handful of reception and restaurant staff aren't very friendly. They give the impression that they are just doing their job but not enjoying customer interaction.
The cooked breakfast is great with a huge variety to choose from. However, it gets boring after 6 days of the same thing.
Great reception area and spacious lobby.
Will definitely stay there again.

Decent hotel for a group booking. Clean rooms. Food was OK but very poor on variety and no vegetables at all at dinner for 4 out of 5 nights. Breakfast good but at both breakfast and dinner staff were overly quick to start dismantling tables and clearing away buffet (well before the hour time slot)

I just love hotel Ciudad and Castelldefels itself. Elderly looking hotel building provides amazing guest experience with cosy and very clean room, rich breakfast and amazingly clean pool outdoor area. Draft beer for a very reasonable price was a great addition. All the staff was very friendly and smiley throughout the whole stay - creating great vibe of the place. Hotel has an amazing location - train station is 10 minutes by walking, beautiful city beach 5 minutes and so is the city center. Hotel Ciudad is definitely recommended!

Love this hotel! Wonderful location, clean room, friendly staff. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice and fresh made bread. The price is very reasonable if you book ahead. Wish we could stay longer.

I don't normally leave bad reviews but I was very disappointed in our stay. The pros: the room was clean and spacious and the breakfast staff were very courteous.
The reception staff not so much. Both the evening staff, when we checked in, and the morning staff, when we checked out, barely looked up from their monitors. Especially when we arrived it took the lady a significant time to look up from her monitor. When she finally did, all she said was "passports." No greeting, no "welcome to the hotel."
That was disappointing enough and I might not have written this review if that was the only thing. When she showed me the bill it was 40€ over what I had been quoted on the phone. I had found a very good deal on a 3rd party site (including breakfast), but called the hotel to see if they could match it. The lady on the phone gave me a quote that was a bit higher than the 3rd party site, but I agreed because I prefer to give all my money to the hotel. It's my fault that I didn't review the confirmation email, but the bill was significantly higher than the quote on the phone. When I commented this to the reception person she tried to claim it was the tax. The phone person had been clear that the quote included breakfast and tax. Anyway, I should have been more careful in checking, but this along with the disinterested attitude of the reception desk staff left us feeling disappointed.

This is a good place to stay with good access to the local beach and an easy train ride to Barcelona or the airport. The buffet breakfast is worth getting.

We were looking for a beach resort close to Barcelona and were recommended Castelldefels by a friend at work. This hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of value and service. It was a very warm welcome from the male and female on the front desk, and they helped with any queues e.g. taxis and train times. The pool was just what we needed for our kids. Beers at the bar were decently priced at €2.50. The rooms were clean, if a little dated but we were paying midrange prices so didn't expect the intercontinental decor. Location-wise it's great as off the main road but 5mins walk to the main restaurants, of which there are plenty. We would come here again.
