Daniya Spa & Business 4* Hotel

Today I went to visit friends staying at the hotel. I approach a member of staff at the reception and asked if he could contact my friend (by phone) to say there was a friend in reception. He told me he couldn't do that due to client confidentiality. A "discussion" took place where he was insisted he couldn't phone the guest. I said I didn't want the number of the room I only wanted him to phone my friends room. Getting more frustrated I asked to speak to his manager. She also was insistent she was not contacting my friend by phone. Eventually she asked for my friends name and started search on the data base. She said it was company policy not to give out personal details of guests.
All I wanted them to do is phone my friends room to ask him to come down to reception like any hotel would do without giving out personal information
It is a stupid policy which needs to be review for common sense.

Rude staff
Some of the staff were really rude, especially the male omelet maker at breakfast. The hotel was otherwise basic clean, but the staff left a bad taste.
