Marriott's Playa Andaluza Hotel

We traded a week with interval expecting a pretty nice experience. Unfortunately this resort doesn’t come close to living up to the reviews. The resort is aging and the rooms themselves feel pretty tired. As owners usually we get a decent room when trading, but not here. Very back building or ground floor next to noisy areas. What amazed me the most was the beach. It is disgusting. They don’t ever clean it. It’s unusable, with dead birds and all sorts of beach trash just rotting for weeks on end. I never experienced a Bonvoy resort quite like this. The place is essentially a very aging 3-star resort with a completely unusable beach. We found mold on our sheets (which I included a pic off). We were told we’d have to pay to have them changed out. That was the final straw. We just abandon our stay here four days in, and paid out of pocket to stay elsewhere the other 3 days. I’m not sure who this resort is oriented for or how it has 4.7 stars. IMO this resort should not be part of the Bonvoy portfolio.
