A great, no-frills hotel that served all the basic needs well.
The breakfast was the highlight — a good spread with plenty of variety, and I really enjoyed it.
The room had a nice balcony with plenty of natural light, which added to the overall comfort of the stay.

Overall very good
Friendly staff and clean comfortable room. Excellent buffet breakfast. Marked down as neither of our bedside lights worked and despite asking for them to be looked at nothing was done and also perplexed that there was a baby/toddler at breakfast when the hotel is marketed as ‘adults only’. Not much around the hotel but near bus route to Marbella and Estepona.

I booked this hotel primarily because it is located at an easy on and off highway location. I booked a large room and when we arrived, I was not disappointed. The bathrooms are a little dated but clean and functional. When I checked in, I was told that I have to pay UPFRONT for the whole 8 nights plus parking even though they had my credit card as a security for the booking. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO PAY UPFRONT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. I wanted to cancel the booking and get the hell out of there but I stupidly booked the room through BOOKINGS.com and as such was stuck. Good lesson for the future. So, I paid and went to our room exhausted. On the first night, after no sleep for almost 24 hours, I had just put my head on the pillow when it sounded like there was a live music show at the foot of the bed. The noise was super loud. It was coming from the pool area just below our balcony. When I called the reception, I was told that they have shows every Friday and I “should have read that on their website”. I was furious at the lack of care of a guest. After a lot of back and forth they said they can move us to another room. We had already unpacked everything and hung up all the clothes and were too exhausted to have to repack. They then said they could move us to another room at the other end of the hotel just to sleep and we could go back to our room the next morning. So, in bathrobes and slippers we made our way to another floor and another room. The following day and all the days thereafter, no one contacted us to apologise and compensate us for what we went through. Shameful. The breakfast buffet is good. The balcony was a good size. The air conditioning very good. And as I said the location was also good. The indoor parking spots are very tight. I certainly will not be staying there again and have looked elsewhere for my next two upcoming trips to the area. NOTE: Usually I take lots of photos but I was so upset during my whole stay that I just could not focus on taking photos other than one in the room and a few on the balcony.

Average hotel
Hotel was only a third full and we had a deluxe double but still put us in a room overlooking the road.
Breakfast was poor, eggs had been cooked what looked like a week ago and the bacon was only just cooked. Wouldn’t stay again.

I recently stayed at Exe Estepona Thalasso & Spa and chose this hotel as I wanted a relaxing holiday with everything I needed within or near the hotel, and this hotel ticked all my boxes.
As many other reviews have mentioned, the staff at Exe Estepona are excellent: they were always really friendly and helpful, both before and during my stay!
Due to visiting fringe-season, parking in their underground carpark was free, which was a nice perk. The beach was approximately 10min walk, and once I’d managed to cross the main road (I couldn’t be bothered walking to the foot bridge 5min down the road…) it was through a quiet residential area.
Rooms and facilities were much as I’d expected from the pictures: nice and comfortable, but possibly not brand spanking new. The gym however was better than the pictures suggest, and the pool area was lovely and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the main road. As was my room, which overlooked the pool and the sea in the distance. Only thing I missed was a kettle, but maybe that’s a cultural thing.
Finally, I’d like to mention the Spa, which was one of the main reasons I chose Exe Estepona. They had an extensive choice of treatments and helped me choose the ones best suited for me. I ended up treating myself to two treatments + a session in the seawater circuit pool area. Ines and Ioana made me feel very welcome and extremely pampered, and were impressively accommodating in finding treatment slots to suit my preferences (I left it a bit last minute to book). Would recommend!

Pretty good
Good stay for the price. Comfy bed. Good facilities inc gym which was excellent. Plastic walls and floor a bit strange and breakfast ok. Would not pay more than £100 per night depending on time of year.
You need a car to stay here otherwise you’re stuck.

We had such a great time here.
The staff are very nice and friendly.
Breakfast is decent.
The pool area is great, and the gym is with everything you need and more.
