Beach: public, sandy, 50 m from the hotel (1st coastal line). On the beach umbrellas, chairs, mattresses: free. Pool towels: free of charge. At the pool umbrellas, sun beds: free of charge. The beach is 6 km away.

I met my husband here in 2001 on a tennis holiday from Surrey. I have since been back with girlfriends and my husband for several holidays and cannot recommend enough! The food is outstanding, staff incredibly courteous and incorporate old fashioned customer service which is incredibly hard to find these days . Staff have been there for years

we had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and I want to express my gratitude, especially to the staff member Sam. The hotel itself was top-notch, with comfortable rooms, an excellent location, and great amenities.
However, Sam truly made our stay unforgettable. Her kindness and attentiveness to guests are outstanding. She always went the extra mile to ensure that we felt comfortable and welcomed. Her recommendations for local restaurants and attractions were perfect.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, thanks to the fantastic staff like Sam who truly make the stay special. I look forward to my next visit!

The good: Staff is super friendly, service is flawless. The Spa is great.
The bad: It was recommended to us by a friend. Pictures are deceiving. The building is old. Most it remodeled but it still feels old. Food is terrible. We tried all restaurants and many menu items and the food was simply BAD. The mattress in our room was higher on one side of the bed and it felt like you’d fall off the bed when rolling over in the middle of the night. They have events on the weekends with terrible loud music that can be heard in the rooms. But … they did a great job training their staff. Very professional and helpful. While this review is for the hotel, i have to add that I was overall disappointed as to the entire area as it felt very worn out and in bad shape. It simply felt like a poor country and not a modern European country. Maybe Covid

This hotel is beautiful .
The only things that spoils the
experience is. There are too many steps to go anywhere. If you want to go to the beach it us quite a walk.
The food that is served in the Bahia restaurant could be more varied. There is not a good amount of choice. If you don't like fish then you are disappointed.

The rooms were old fashioned with dried up pizza crusts on the carpet. The breakfast, lunch at the pool restaurant and garden are phenomenal and lush. Haven’t tried the other restaurants but assume they are good. It’s a hotel which shows its potential, but can’t quite deliver due to the non-corresponding state of the room.

We just came back from Don Carlos, in general all was great. Depends what you expect. The hotel presents themselves like 5 start hotel, however the service and rooms are not 5 star.
Territory is very beautiful.
Breakfast:
1. Lettuce in the breakfast was not fresh and too much flies (maybe seasonal)
2. Everyone can cut the bread touching it with hands
Rooms:
Hotel is quite old. Don’t expect to get new room. We got the room with sea view, the view was beautiful.
There should be a bar with options in the room according 5 stars hotels criteria, but in our room was only 2/3 bottles of water. For additional water we payed 5 or 6 euros for 1 L bottle.
Room is cleaned by the team everyday.

It's a little confusing at first to understand the Oasis is separate (to some degree) from the regular Don Carlos hotel--we got dropped off at the Don Carlos hotel and they had to call a different reception area to come and get us to bring us to the other section of the property. We had a sea view room with terrace which was magnificent-the rooms are large and luxurious (the set up with the shower and the fact that one can see someone showering from the bed area is a little weird). I will say the Oasis and its layout of rooms is a bit noisy. We had a very noisy next door neighbor and in the morning you can hear everyone talking and banging their doors shut as the layout is like an echo chamber.
The staff was attentive and friendly. Daniella, who spoke perfect English did a lot for us. She arranged for all our transportation (to/from hotel and a trip to Gilbratar with a private tour guide, arranged our spa time and my hair appointment).
I agree with the other review that the breakfast (at the Oasis, not Don Carlos hotel) was really VERY good. The other restaurants on the property were very average. It's about a 15-20 minute car ride to the centro area which we really enjoyed. The town of Marbella has plenty of excellent food and places to shop. Staying on the resort property is pretty limited--but if you just want to sit and relax by the pool it's perfect since not much else is happening on the property. They have two gyms and two pools -- a fact we learned after being there for a few days as nobody provided us a tour upon arrival or a map of the property and its amenities--however, we were greeted with Cava (champagne), so there's that. If you want to get away and just chill in a luxurious spot, this place is for you. You'll probably want to go into town however for better food.

Traditionally on my vacation I always take time to relax at the SPA before tanning on the beach. This time was no exception. After enjoying my favorite steam saunas and contrast baths/pools, I can only recommend this place. Of course there were more possibilities so I think everyone will find their best suitable experience. Beautiful design, modern style, definitely worth a visit. Adults only.

Maria and her team at the kids club was amazing with our child and they really are a credit to the hotel.

Breakfast was nice but limited choice.
No dairy alternatives such as margarine and we have allergies against dairy so we had to eat dry toast for breakfast.
Dinner at the Bahia restaurant was bad! Slow service and the pork came out rare with blood dripping.
The room above us kept us awake every single night and the hotel tried to stop the noise but were ignored.
Overall this hotel is very nice but not value for money and we would not stay here again.

I’ve visited the Spa with my husband yesterday and it was divine! We love the place and it has the perfect spa amenities, very clean, and luxurious facilities. What a great way to disconnect and to relax. Yesenia was so welcoming, friendly, helpful, and very profesional. I love how they look after you from checking in to the spa until you leave plus the special detail which was the little cakes and fresh juices. We will definitely come back and will recommend your spa to everyone. Thanks so much for an amazing day. Special shout out to Aurora, Eva, & Marta. Your spa team is excellent!!! Keep it up
