Hotel with an excellent location, next to San Lorenzo beach and the city center. Clean rooms, decent breakfast, but... Surprise! Be careful with the air conditioning if you're traveling in the middle of summer.
Supposedly, the air conditioning had been out of order for days, and guests hadn't been notified (obviously) to avoid canceling during a heat wave. According to the person at reception, "they'd had this problem for days, and that's why they'd removed the air conditioning from the various search engines, since it was going to be a while..." They didn't remove it, apologize, or offer any kind of compensation, and surprisingly, it was working again on Sunday, albeit slightly.
Breakdown or cost-saving strategy?

Ok, but the single room is too small.

Good hotel for it's price. Nice location: everything is near . Poor soundproofing, so you can hear your neighbors and the street. Keep this in mind if you have trouble sleeping. But overall I recommend the hotel
28.09.2024
Bathroom was very poor. Shower leaked water on floor because the glass needed repair.
Parking was too far from the hotel. Inconvenient. A wifi password was not provided at Check-in and wifi was very poor.

It is located in the center of the old city, convenient to the beach and downtown restaurants. There is a convenience store downstairs with everything. It is a very convenient hotel choice

Well situated. Nice staff. The general condition is not very good. Poor breakfast

Good location, clean rooms, kind staff. What more could one ask for?

The hotel is situated in a good location, close to beach and shopping center. The staff is friendly. Clean rooms. But only that. Rooms very small, unpleasant odor (certain substances used against beetles). A bad sound insulation of rooms. Breakfast skinny. In 10 days the same food, even failure. Poor Internet connection. It was hard to endure 10 days. It may be appropriate for a short stay.

Went to Gijon for a friend's wedding in the off season. I can see how the place would be popular in the summer season, but not much going on otherwise. The hotel is in a prime location though - right next to the beach and downtown. We booked through a website called hotel club - for convenience as my friend had used it. The desription was nothing like reality - they clearly said there was an indoor swimming pool. Wasn't expecting much, but the description is clearly for another hotel, as this is a small old hotel with locals in the coffee shop in the front. The rooms are pretty pokey and some of the walls are a bit paper thin, but they've made a precent decent crack at fixing it up to make it look a bit more modern by adding some pop art prints and theming each room with a famous person. Probably quite good value for the location and the standard.

The Hotel is not 3 stars, far from that level, apart from the good location, very little positive things can be said. The Breakfast is outsourced, and really is not up to any standard, they do you a favour sort of.....and something better could be expected from the description of the hotel in the website. The chain, should try better. As for the rooms are very small, at least, there was no noise on the evening I stayed, as for the wifi, almost impossible to connect to you, so better try some other hotel.....the description should be better, as for the price it was steep for the service offered. Parking is not easy if at all, and the nearest public parking is a few blocks away, and it is not cheap. Next visit to Gijon, I will look for a different and better hotel.
