Gran Hotel Los Abetos

Was a good place to stay was only there for one night but the bed was not comfortable for how much it was and the breakfast is very overpriced for what it is better off to go somewhere in town. Very spacious rooms in the villa tho there was a fridge but no microwave. Also not very close to anything but close enough to taxi.

Hotel is not near to city center and on a slight hill but offers a shuttle to downtown though not sure it brings you back later. There was a pulpos restaurant that was 10 min walk away but they dont serve it before 8pm, though they did have good inexpensive empanadas before dinner time that we enjoyed. Room had very nice things but some didnt work. Refrigerator was not working and bathroom mirror was too loose to stay in place to use for shaving or makeup. Windows have no screens as many in EU dont so when you open the windows to try to cool the room (they end AC use after Sept until July I believe) you will have to put up with mosquitos and lots of noise if your room is on the front side. Room was well lit and beds were comfortable. We didnt have any info on how to call room service and QR code in room doesnt work so didnt use it, their loss I suppose.

All in all we had a good stay, the staff at the reception, restaurant and pool are very friendly!
The rooms however are a bit old and gloomy, the carpets, beds, sofa and curtains are all very dark and heavy, we stayed in the villas, where not a lot of light came into the living room. The fridge was also very loud and hot in the outside, the rooms smelled a bit of mould and you could see signs of dampness on the walls.
The pool is nice and popular, but I would consider different seatings so there would be enough places for most of the guests.
We had the 3 course menu, the service was brilliant, the food was good but slightly fad, it needed more spices and salt.
