Pleasant reception, friendly and helpful.

Rooms were clean and a good size, but lacked electric sockets. Room safe in wardrobe. Reception friendly and helpful.
Rooms have a complete lack of sound proofing. All street noise and internal noise is loud. Do not stay here if you require quiteness to sleep!

The hotel is very good, the front desk speaks good English, so you don't have to worry about language problems. If you want to go to Bilbao, they can help you check the bus timetable in the counter system and then go to the bus station to buy tickets directly, which is more convenient. Otherwise, if you go directly to the Logrono train station (opposite the bus station), the ticket seller can hardly speak English. I bought the train tickets to Haro and Madrid at the train station by gesturing and writing. Of course, you can also buy directly from the machine, but the ticket machines in small places are often not working well.
The hotel is very conveniently located, about 1,000 meters from the Logrono train station and only 500 meters from the Laurel Street snack bar. I missed breakfast on the day I left because I caught an early train, and the hotel was very considerate to help pack breakfast for me to take on the road.

Good location, clean rooms but a bit dated. Breakfast was satisfactory with some hot items and fruit (so not full continental). Wifi worked well

Classic mercure hôtel (a bit office like).

Location is perfect, convenient for everything. Staff was very friendly and speak good English.
The only negative point was, the mini-bar or the small refrigerator was not functioning. We bought six-packs of beer for our stay but ended up drinking room temperature beer…

The hotel we last stayed in was a fabulous 16th century wine making house converted to a small hotel run by Jose and Emilio who were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us. The food they prepared was the best we have had in a hotel since we started our journey along the Camino Then we arrived into the Mercury Carlton Rioja, the exact opposite of the night before big, modern, no staff, no bar and no service and a room that is tired and dated. We must have one of lesser rooms at the back of the hotel with a view not worth paying for but not over looking a road so was quite.
The only plus side to this impersonal no service hotel is that we did manage a good nights sleep but I wouldn’t stay again.

Reasonable price, quick check-in, comfortable bed, spacious family room, big bathroom. Parking garage nearby, and cheap street parking if you’re lucky. Five minute walk from old town with an amazing selection of food, wine, and sweets, plus anything else you can imagine.
