Route Active Hotel in Los Realejos

Very good value quiet hotel. Stayed a week for road cycling and very good for that with bike room and tools. Hired a car for a couple of days and parking no problem nearby in Sept if you time it right. Excellent and cheap hourly bus service into Puerto de La Cruz just along the street - end of the 381 line. Breakfast good but dinner probably even better - instead of a vast buffet of average, there was a smaller selection of very tasty dishes. Room spacious and clean, pool top-notch. Only disappointment was no bar (despite a lovely lounge area) or hot drinks after dinner which mean the vary varied clientele may stay and socialise a little. There is a fridge to buy drinks / snacks but not quite the same as a full bar. Would return if in the area again.

First holiday away since a heavy spine surgery. Staff were welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable, kind.
Recommendations to local attractions and explainibg how the taxi and bus system works (titsa app) allowing me to save money on travel and take the scenic routes.
The hotel was incredibly secure ( as a woman, i felf very safe staying alone) and the outside and surrounding area is stunning, facilties are incredibly clean.
Hands down, the best hotel i have stayed at. Highly recommend to anyone!

Our favourite hotel in Tenerife, been returning here many times. Very friendly and nice staff in reception, cleaning, maintenance, kitchen and restaurant, everyone is service minded
and smiling. Beautiful garden and views over the ocean and mountains, the pool holds a good temperature around 25 degrees. Great hikes just outside the door and a big, well equipped gym. Short walk to restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacy. Can also highly recommend the evening buffet at the hotel, always good variety and tasty. The apartments have everything you need with a good size balcony. It is peaceful and quiet at night. Highly recommended!

Cannot be more recommended. To be honest, we could not have chosen a better place to stay.
I will try to summarize our experience there:
- Location - Acknowledging that if you are in Tenerife and you want to move around you will need a car, everything is close by if you have a car. We visited Anaga, Teide, Puerto de la Cruz, Cueva del Viento, from the hotel and the longest it took us was Anaga about 45 minutes by car. In addition, Los Realejos, where the hotel is located, is a cosy village, full of locals, with some restaurants, ice cream, cafe, bar, supermarkets... Basically everything you might need.
- Check-in - It is fast. We were there earlier than usual (about 12 pm) and we were lucky our room was ready. Very much appreciated they gave us the room early.
- Room - Understanding that the hotel is a three start hotel and taking into account the price, it is really good. It is a simple room/apartment, with some basic furniture. You have a small kitchenette. Nothing fancy, but full equipped with all you need and more importantly, clean. A small balcony is also available in our room.
- Facilities - We were out most of the time, but the gym, is probably the best gym I have seen in any hotel around the world. You can actually make a full workout, of almost ay discipline, in the gym of the hotel. I felt even sorry we did not have time to use it. A nice swimming pool and an nice swimming pool area.
- Breakfast - Definitely the highlight of the hotel. It is not very good, it is spectacular. Here is where the name 'route active hotel' comes in place. Good variety, not overwhelmingly variate, just good variety. You have a set of colds with local cheese and more standard cheeses. You have a nice bread station. Amazing fresh warm food, homemade, the grilled vegetables were the best I have ever tried. Through the breakfast, you feel they try to give healthy options, yet delicious. The pancakes for example were banana pancakes. Peanut butter was non-sugared. The fruit was fresh and not in sugar. Boiled eggs were available, fresh veggies, salad bar.... Every morning we spent a good hour at the breakfast. Really enjoyable.
- Service - For 4 days, we do not need our room to be clean, so you have the option to let them know this is not needed. In exchanges, they give you 2 bottles of water. Always a nice touch :).
- Price - We spent about 100 euros for 2 person with breakfast. It simply cannot get any better. It is really good to have independent hotels that provide quality at a good price.

Overall, very very recommended. If you are thinking to visit the north and you do not want to stay in the big city but in a more local environment. This is your place. We definitely regret not staying the whole week there and changing to a hotel in the south.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms are spacious with a separate bedroom. Kitchen has few utensils and pans and kettles so basic foods can be cooked. Balconies have two chairs and a table. Be aware that the balcony floor is very slippery when wet. Building D next to the road can be a bit noisy at times, trash truck beeping early in the morning etc. Hotel has a minimarket with mostly sandwiches, chocolate bars, beer and wine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, lots of fruit, bread and cereal but not much meat. Same goes with the dinner. Don't trust Google maps, there's no easy route to Puerto de la Cruz centrum. The area surrounding the hotel is steep hills to every direction. Sidewalks are narrow if they exist at all. Nearest grocery stores are closer to 10 minute walk away. Few restaurants are nearby. There is one hotel next to this one but otherwise the neighbourhood is fully inhabited by locals. We enjoyed our stay a lot though we found out that the only viable way to travel between the hotel and Puerto de la Cruz was taxi.

We had a great stay at this hotel for one week in Christmas time. The staff are friendly, helpful and present with a welcoming smile. The rooms are spacious and comfort and cleaning staff are doing a great job everyday. The pool is clean and quiet and combined with the gym is a great opportunity for doing exercise.
The garden has a nice architecture and interesting for kids to play around. We will definitely come back.
