Hotel Atlantic El Tope

The hotel is heavily dated and understaffed, waiting 15 minutes at a bar for a drink with all inclusive is unacceptable, complained to the manager and he says “okay” and nothing else

Pool food is so poor and covered in flies, and sandwiches go left for hours to go stale

The top bar isn’t all inclusive and is falsely advertised, breakfast is okay, lunch poor and dinner is good.

The hotel is very empty and very dated and I believe that guests won’t return and that for the reasons mentioned above it seems the hotel is struggling , the hotel also is undergoing building works and this it is a building site .

This hotel is impossible if you have any mobility problems. You need to either go up and down a set of steep public stairs with only some handrails or a very steep road.
The beds are very comfortable and it’s nice to have a view from the balcony.
Staff are surly and rarely smile.
The shower is very slippy and unsafe. Room was basic and tired with no information provided about either the hotel or surrounding area. I don’t appreciate a room with cockroaches!
Facilities to make tea or coffee would be appreciated.
I appreciate the hotel is under renovation but that wasn’t really a problem. The roof top bar was nice.

I booked a sea view room for my birthday getaway, and despite paying extra for it, I was given a room without the view. When I raised the issue with the reception, they initially claimed the sea view rooms were more expensive. After showing them my booking details, they then stated that the poor weather meant the view wasn’t good and suggested tomorrow would be better.
Regardless of the weather, the room I paid for and expected was not provided. This experience has left me quite disappointed, especially as this was meant to be a special trip. I hope future guests don't face the same issue.

Please ensure that extra charges are only applied if the services can be fulfilled, as that's robbery!

Money and sunglasses got disappeared from the room

Our money and RayBan sunglasses were disappeared from our hotel room. Money was stolen from two different purses and one purse was INSIDE of my bag. We suspected it was taken around breakfast time when it was the only time we left our money in the room. SUSPICIOUSLY, OUR ROOM CARDS DID NOT WORK THE SAME MORNING. We thought it was a technical issue but later the receptionist said our check out date was wrong in the system (RIDICULOUS, because she before asked with her mouth if we are leaving X time).

And we did NOT take the sunglasses out of the room for 3 days, so there was NO WAY that we lost our minds and lost everything at once somewhere else.

Generally, receptionists were extremely careless towards the situation, told that we might drop things under the bed, and indicated the police station’s location on the map in case we want to report 🙂

We also asked them to check the card access to our room. Then they showed us that we were the only people entering the room (it did not even show the cleaning staff entering the room). But the most problematic part was TIME STAMPS WERE WRONG. SO we couldn’t confirm the times we were actually in the room. God forbid if any other crime happens in that hotel, no one will know what happened when.

We see many old people visit that hotel, probably with tours but if you are rather a young family or couple, avoid going to that hotel.

There are more reasons than stolen valuables for not going to that hotel:

Construction is continuous for the whole weekdays, everywhere is noise and dust, so absolutely no chance you can rest there.

Rooms are worn out (you can see the pictures).

Pool is dirty and cold.

Never coming back again nor recommending.
