Hotel Atlantic El Tope

I had an incredibly disappointing stay at this so-called 4-star hotel. The staff, especially the waiters, were rude and unfriendly. While I was at the buffet, one waiter holding a cup of cola sighed and spoke to me rudely after a simple misunderstanding—very unprofessional behaviour.

The food was terrible too—everything tasted the same, clearly frozen and lacking any real flavour. For a hotel claiming to be of high standard, this was shocking.

On top of that, parking was an absolute nightmare. In Tenerife, renting a car is essential, but this hotel offers severely limited parking. I spent 45 minutes searching for a spot, only to be told by the receptionist that I couldn’t park near the hotel, despite there being an open space with just a cone. He gave no valid explanation and showed no interest in helping. I ended up parking 2 km away and had to walk 20 minutes back, which is unacceptable, especially when I have luggage to carry in the morning.

This experience was beyond frustrating and ruined my holiday. Avoid this place at all costs if you want decent service and a stress-free stay.

I booked in this hotel through my travel operator. Today, less than 3 weeks before departure, my operator was suddenly informed that this hotel is in extensive renovation, that several floors will not be available and that the restaurant will move. Fortunately, we were able to find another hotel on short notice, but this is no way to treat travel operators that book with you and their customers. This could have been mentioned earlier. This hotel shouldn't be taking any bookings now. This is a warning to other people considering booking: the hotel may notify you very late that you will be staying in what is basically a construction site now ..; or maybe they won't notify you at all because they still put rooms on offer for this time.

If you want a view such as this one from your room choose this hotel. Floor -2. (No reason to pay for the room with a balcony) Be prepared that there will be no parking space for you. The swimming pool is extremely cold and you can swim in it if you’re an arctic penguin.
There won’t be double bed in the room as well, just two singles joined together. Room is equipped but really poorly.
However The food is great and hotel looks nice. Staff is polite but not too helpful.

It seems we were probably a bit lucky because we got a renovated room which was quite nice and spacious.
Otherwise...
- good location (from a certain point of view - for some purposes)
- nice views on Teide and sea from terrace

If you believe that extra paying for even pure water during half-board dinner is alright, you don't deserve not even a seemless good evaluation... shame on you! It is really absurd when I can eat anything as much as I want but I have to pay extra for even a glass of pure water - which is in addition quite overpriced.
Otherwise...
- all food during breakfasts or dinners was almost everytime cold and without any taste (especially fishes)
- lots of products during breakfasts or dinners was from extra-low-cost category (fake nutela, the cheapest pastry,...)
- many only defrosted deserts which a few times were served, althought those were still frosted (!)
- quite rude waiters during during breakfasts or dinners
- real insufficient of capacity of elevators - quite unpleasant when you are accomodated in 5th floor
