A bike friendly hotel for those doing the Caminho. You can store your bike in the lower service area securely. The staff was fry and there is a cafe and restaurant on site that allowed us to get food when we arrived without having to go back out in the rain. The breakfast was served early with lots of continental options.
Large modern hotel, conveniently located to the camino route. Overwhelmed somewhat by the very large number of guests, apart from camino walkers, Portuguese school football teams, and coach tours, making meal times somewhat institutional. It's saving grace was a nearby outdoor swimming pool with no staff, no umbrellas, (maybe 28 degrees in May is not expected) but so refreshing. Could do a lot better...
Comfortable hotel albeit bedroom is old fashioned, shower was fine. Friendly reception team. The food was good on my last visit & Marcos, the Head Waiter, is a great guy. Good choice for pilgrims as Camino de Santiago passes it.

Good enough value. Would really help if Pardon had an agreement with a taxi service that operated after midnight. It is a long dodgy walk back from Padron...
My husband and I stayed here whilst doing the Camino from Porto to Santiago de Compostela. The Hotel is situated about 2km from Padron but right on the Camino trail, it will also make our day tomorrow shorter by about 2km which will be good for getting our pilgrim certificates. It has a lovely smell as you walk down the corridor. Our room was a little dated but a good size, it was clean and the beds...

Walking El Camino from Porto I was in a lot of different hotels but this was the best for his price. The room was large and clean. In the price included good breakfast. The hotel is located across railway station , with no noise from the trains but good possibility to explore other towns by train.
Charming service and a pleasure to stay there. It is very near delightful gardens and the Rosalia de Castro museum. Food wholesome and very reasonable.
This two star hotel deserves a four star review. Our group of five pilgrims found this hotel clean, comfortable and the service was exceptional. Alisa took great care of us at dinner and breakfast and gave us directions on what we must see in Padron. It is true the hotel is very close to the train station but it’s not the long cargo trains us Canadians are accustomed to but rather a quick and quiet...
Went on the camino and was the worst value place I stayed. Out of town and generally just a bit grim. Food was bad too. That said, I'm not sure Padron has many options

The hotel is absolutely lovely. Charming and well renovated, right next to the Church and on the St James pilgrimage way. Alex, the owner is very professional and caters to the needs of the guests. Make sure to book everything, though (dinner and breakfast). This place is literally the only thing open in this small town.
We were walking the camino portugues (october 2021) and stayed one night in this 17th century house. The room and bathroom are a little dated. The dinner was good but for a big eater it wouldn't be enough and the same for the breakfast. The owner was friendly.
Apologies for the delay in reviewing. A group of us from Ireland and Britain stayed here in may 2016. Exceptional accommodation, beautifully renovated building. Excellent and very helpful host. Recommend it to either Camino walkers or anybody touring the area.

If you're looking for a delicious meal in a refined setting, there is something on the menu here for all pockets, from the 13 euro pilgrim's menu to the zarzuela of fresh fish and seafood. The pilgrim's menu included a delicious amuse bouche of rich cream of mushroom soup, a hearty bowl of Galician stew and a tender and perfectly cooked cutlet of local beef accompanied by a small salad and freshly...
Very clean and well maintained hotel with an old fashioned feel. They have their own super modern self service laundry just across the road and, boy, after 10 days walking the pilgrimage route did we ever need it!? I rate Chef Rivera 5 ? for the laundry alone ?. We didn't eat there (I thought it looked a bit on the pricey side) but I really wish we had because the food looked fantastic (we had a...
Nice place. Comfortable and clean. Quiet location near the center of town. Restaurant seemed expensive. We didn't eat there.
Food was great here. The chef has even been visited by the King of Spain! Their big and expensive thing is Lamprey. Staff was courteous, but distant. We spent the night in the hotel which was clean, comfortable, but dated, if that's important to you. I'm really into customer service so I walked away feeling more like a number.

This place is what makes the Camino so special. Lovely hosts. Community dinner where you can socialize with others spending the night there. Pool and garden is amazing. Washing machine and dry tumbler available.
A proverbial oasis. Good food, good beer, good people. Did I mention the pool!? Guillermo and his family will nourish you after a hard day’s hike. An amazing way to set yourself up for your final day into Santiago. Be good to yourself; don’t miss out!
Gorgeous property right at a Camino de Santiago pilgrimage marker. Around the 20 km mark. An old stone farmhouse with gorgeous windows, spaced out beds, a lovely pool, a bar, and plenty of seating. There are old stone fireplaces in a few areas, along with individual bathrooms that had a shower attached, a true luxury in a hostel. It was tranquil, clean, and well worth the price.
O Lagar De Jesus is a wonderful Albergue on the Portuguese route to Camino De Santiago. We wandered into the entrance after a long day walking from Caldas de Reis. Immediately we were welcomed like family by the host Eva. O Lagar De Jesus is a tranquil place to stay to reenergize yourself for the final walk into Santiago de Campostela. I was completely surprised by this rather special out of the way place . The receptionist was so welcoming and allowed me to change my room to one with more sunlight ( I ‘d arrived early after a long Camino walk) so that could enjoy resting in the warmth . After walking lots and lots of kilometers arriving to this amazing old home was the greatest treat. An old home quiet and spacious, with an increíble welcoming hostess and the food, fantastic. A wonderful place to stop and rest after a wonderful day in El Camino.
Very comfortable room and very friendly service. Excellent meals. The location is a little hard to find.
Old stone house converted to boutique hotel with few rooms, location off highway a few km from town, good for rustic atmosphere, good service. Suitable for short stay, very good if you are walking the Camino
This was the highlight of our Camino. Luckily another hostel was closed so we decided to stay. And we were the only guests. We had to call the owner and he asked us about our wishes. Nice place with good rooms and comfy beds. The sound insulation is not very good between rooms, specially if you are in the first floor. The breakfast is just what you need, no food waste.
Stayed for 1 night only...staff were very attentive, patient and extremely helpful. Room was excellent with exposed ceiling beams and old stone wall throughout. Great option to stay in Santiago de Compestela. The hotel is full of lush green gardens and it smells amazing. They are pet friendly. It is a drive into town, but a great option to walk around in nature, maybe walk down to the river after breakfast. Very peaceful and beautiful hotel.
Room was lovely, clean and fairly spacious. The front desk, servers, and bar staff were all wonderful but the woman running the spa was INCREDIBLY rude. She was absent from the desk for 15 minutes but there was no sign telling us what to do so we walked around a bit to look around and when she came back down she angrily told us that we should have waited instead of apologising for not being there...
Not just a Michelin star hotel , it’s worth more than that ! The immaculate hotel has left the best impression through out this entire trip. I would recommend anyone finishing Camino to come here for a few days to just enjoy the room and the spa . Totally amazing !! If is good enough for spainish King , it’s all good :) this is a rare hotel indeed .
Simply wonderful and unique. Best possible place to spend our 10y anniversary. Wish we could've stayed longer but could only offload the kids for a night. The youngest will leave home in 15 years and this hotel will be first on the list to revisit.
so much more than a hotel, this is on a different level. Lovely grounds and setting. Wonderfully decorated interior and the reception staff are so good, nothing is too much trouble for them I felt like I was treated like a king. So kind and wonderful desk. And a grande Team. Helpful feeling a pilgrim really welcome. Especially after the hike. Ah. Everytime again
A slightly-above average place to stay. Did not make a huge impression on me, that is for sure. but at least clean, and I am satisfied for that.
Great location, 20min walking distance from the old town and a quick 5min walk from the bus interlink. Service is great and rooms are comfy
Too small (narrow) double bed for bigger people:-). Staff on reception desk excellent, staff in the restaurant very poor (especially young woman and young man - bored, not willing to work, the older waiter was nice). Good location - 10min walk to train/bus station + 10min walk to the center of Saniago. Excellent breakfast and room service.
I wasn't planning to stay at this hotel for my trip to Santiago, but as I travelled alone and couldn't share costs I looked for a more affordable option than my original choice, and this seemed to fit the bill. A fantastic hotel that instantly reminded me of the elegant decor from the movie Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The blend of classic charm with modern touches creates a unique atmosphere. Generally, a good place to stay, however, it has some drawbacks: (1) it is very noisy - both outdoors and indoors (poor soundproofing!); (2) the prices for the "minibar" are terribly high -worst thing is you don't know the price until you check out :-(. Other than that, it is great in terms of cleanliness, service, and a breakfast!
Friendly check in, the view from the glass Lift/Elevator was impressive with indoor garden. Room was nice and clean, the mini bar. The was a nice international TV channel selection. Breakfast staff was very friendly too, they were happy and escorted us to our table of choice. Many selection of Spanish cheeses, that made my day! I would definitely return!
Great hotel next to Santiago City centre. Rooms are old-fashion decorated but very classy (wood all around). Two things to Super recommend : Room service food is really amazing! A 25 minute walk or 5 Euro taxi ride to the cathedral. A good hotel with the rooms built around a central atrium with waterfall and hanging gardens. The glass lift was fun and not at all scary. I loved the hotel. We booked a double room for one night and enough to say I would come back again. Super clean, newly renovated, excellent location. Room clean and comfy. During the stay, there are contractor working outside on other room or floor. The smell of the chemical very strong. The property offers clean, well maintained rooms, that are quite basic. There is no safe, iron nor tea/coffee provision in the room. The location is great though; a 10m walk from the Cathedral with plenty of shops and restaurants in the vicinity. The breakfast costs only €5 pp, with cereal, bread, fruits and coffee. This is advertised as 5 star hotel. It is not. There were no basic coffee/tea making facility in the room & only a basic shower over bath in the bathroom. Hairdrier did not work in our room and took a long time to get fixed. It has a beautiful foyer & a nice pool area (pool is uniformly deep however) & the service was generally very good. Beautiful, comfortable hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here in 2012 after walking the Camino. It was great then and is still great.
Booked this cause after the Camino I wanted a hotel with a swimming pool. Photo of the pool is below. Otherwise a perfectly pleasant stay.
Loved this hotel's location. We were in walking distance to great restaurants, nightlife, and the cathedral. It was also one of the only hotels in the area with parking, which was very important to us. Would definitely stay again.
Old and worn hotel frankly not worth the 5-star rating. Bathroom smelled. Front seat friendly but not very communicative. For example they recommended restaurants and called to make reservations but didn’t bother to tell us that the restaurant was closed! We ended up scrambling at the last minute.

Staff are excellent and bed was the most comfortable I had on the Camino. Bus 6A from airport stops outside the door and express bus to the airport stop is a short walk and costs 1Euro payable to the driver. It is situated close to the Cathedral and all emenities. Breakfast is good and in my opinion it offers excellent value to people who would like to do both the Camino or visit the city!
Good sound insulation, once we closed windows, it was like the city disappeared. Aircon is performing well and is reasonably quiet too.
For the price I expected better. AC appears to be on a timer because it stopped in the middle of the night, I felt the temp change and turned it on again.

I liked it but I kept waking up because of the coridor´s lights and the noise of other clients. The staff was spetacular though.
Just a bit chilly in the room, otherwise this hotel is good value and well placed. I don't understand the 2 star rating? The bathroom is big, but the bath is a bit small (for me). Bed great! Quiet. Breakfast very basic, but good.

Neat and tidy room. Very reasonable price. Great city centre location close to everything including public transport and hospital only a €5 taxi drive. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Accidentally left key in room and although reception was closed within minutes my problem was resolved by manager and accompanied with a smile... Vanesa from housekeeping was a true gem. Very lovely lady and an...
I have stayed in 3 hotels in Santiago and this was totally woth the money. The hotel is next to the bus station that goes to the airport. It is also near the shopping district and close to the historic center. The room is a bit small, but sufficient. Service was great.
Really liked this place. Slightly cheaper because it's not in the centre of town. But it's not too far from most things and it's less than 5 min walk to the airport bus stop.
Very central in the city, good internet, very good beds. Room is somewhat noisy, and the airco doesnt work.

We had a wonderful stay here. Everything was fantastic. The location is very quiet but also walkable to all the major attractions in Santiago. The hotel is located in a former convent and is luxurious and peaceful.
To be honest, It was not a bad place. Breakfast were good, mood of the room and location is okay. But this NOT what you expect from 5star hotel I can stress you that. Basically room is non-soundproof. You can hear all the squeaking sound from the halls.. and everything from your next room. Guess what I heard! A couple doing their thing! I mean it is not their fault.. apparently it is not what I expected...
Excellent, well-appointed hotel in the heart of Santiago and within easy walking distance of the Cathedral. The hotel is a converted convent and its history is evident. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent with the breakfast buffet being a particular stand out.
I recently stayed at **Palacio del Carmen** in Santiago de Compostela, and it was a truly memorable experience. The hotel is located in a beautifully restored historic building, just a short walk from the city’s iconic cathedral. The blend of traditional charm and modern luxury makes it a perfect spot for those looking to relax after exploring the city. The rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated...
We stayed here at the tail end of a tour across the north of Spain. We were quite spent from driving an electric vehicle (and the additional charging stops it requires) so we were really looking forward to a relaxing stay. Hotel Palacio del Carmen did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted by impeccable service and beautiful grounds. The hotel is deceivingly large and extends...
Price is 5 star but rooms max 3 stars. No luxury that you expect from 5 star hotels. Our bathroom was not properly cleaned with hair in bathtub, broken glass under the bed and lack of complimentary water. We were moved to another room (where I also found hair in the bathtub, so maybe that’s hotel trademark), and we were given local sweets as an apology (that was nice). What is more, rooms with garden...
