Barceló Santiago - Adults Only Hotel

I have stayed at a number of Barceló hotels and am never disappointed by the consistent standard, friendly staff, and variety of food.
This hotel, however, will forever stand out for the spectacular location overlooking the Los Gigantes cliffs.

The room was spacious and we paid the small extra fee for a room on the higher floors so the sea view over the pools was lovely. Definitely worth it!

We booked half board as we don't drink alcohol and wanted to do some day trips out in our hire car. We paid for drinks and extra lunches we had and felt it was reasonably priced vs the All Inclusive price for which we wouldn't have got our moneys worth! Everything can be charged straight to the room to avoid carrying any money or you can pay on the spot if the preference is to control spending.

We had a few days lounging around the pool and the activities were excellent! From Aqua Dance to Yoga, and darts to little games to win freebies! The team don't push you to join, as with some resorts, but there was no shortage of participants! My partner also used the gym and said it had great facilities with nice air con!

The pools were lovely. There was a large pool that had a gradual slope into it, a smaller heated one that was lovely and warm on the clouder days, and a third medium sized pool which was a good depth for swimming.

I find no faults with the hotel and have recommended it to numerous people who have enjoyed the many photos I have shared of the pools, sea, and incredible Los Gigantes cliffs.

The location and food are great. Plenty of choice for everyone. Rooms clean and large.

The entertainment staff made the holiday! Not pushy, however fully engaged, made the classes fun, laughed a lot and the yoga classes really good. They supported the evening entertainment so well people joined in which was great. Manuel and Manu you led the team perfectly.

No problems with sun beds or parasols loads available even though hotel full.

However the things to note especially compared to similar star rated hotels in area;
We were all inclusive so were surprised the other restaurant was not included or discounted. It was practically empty so shame they were not finding ways to get people in.
Although it states there is a mini bar, it’s not stocked with anything. Again as all inclusive expected to at least have water in the room. Readily available in the bar 10 to midnight, so once we knew just had to remember to pick it up.
Found meals ie seating bit chaotic especially in busy times. Trying to que for coffee machines at breakfast not great, would have been nice to have that served at table.
Only have one change of pool towel, charged thereafter €2 per towel.
Garden rooms and low sea view, look out on public path, pétanque and public children play area, if wanting more privacy (especially if you have jaccuzzi) don’t pay more for those.

Overall we loved the location, entertainment staff and food so would go back.

What a fantastic hotel. I am currently staying here on an all-inclusive package with Jet2. The food and entertainment is excellent. Staff couldn't be more helpful. The hotel is situated on a small headland that overlooks the ocean and the Los Gigantes cliffs. Lovely views especially in the evening; the island of La Gomera is visible on clear days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You will have a wonderful holiday.

Absolutely perfect stay! The rooms were clean and spacious and the view a-mazing! Food was plentiful and varied, even for my vegetarian and vegan friends. Facilities were immaculate and staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The all inclusive package is definitely worth it, highly recommend- I’ll be coming back for sure!

I had a very pleasant stay at Barceló Santiago. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. The view of the ocean was absolutely stunning – especially from the hot tub on the terrace!
The hotel has a lot to offer: multiple pools, a gym, a wellness area – everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation. Prices are absolutely fair for what you get. I’d definitely love to come back!

Where everything is about the view.

The hotel has a fantastic location, offering beautiful views from the rooms, the restaurant, and the pool area — an absolutely breathtaking panorama of Los Gigantes, from sunrise to sunset.

There’s no swimmable beach within walking distance, and not much else nearby besides a shop, so renting a car is highly recommended (though in my opinion, it’s essential when visiting Tenerife). The hotel has its own parking (which is quite expensive), but we didn’t need it, as we found free parking on the street.

The hotel itself and the common areas are well-maintained and clean. The pool area is amazing — very atmospheric, with several pools and plenty of sunbeds. In contrast, our room was quite worn — it could definitely use some renovation, at least a new coat of paint.

We only spent one night at the hotel with half-board service, and during that short stay, neither dinner nor breakfast convinced us. They host themed dinners every night; we happened to catch a French-themed evening, which sadly didn’t resemble French cuisine in terms of selection or quality. Allergens are labeled, but unfortunately not always correctly. On the bright side, the kitchen staff were helpful and informed us about which dishes were gluten-free. They also provided a fantastic gluten-free dessert. For breakfast, there’s a dedicated gluten-free station with lots of options.

The cocktails at the bar reflect the usual all-inclusive standard — absolutely forgettable.

An unforgettable, beautiful, and magical stay!

We couldn't speak more highly of our week-long stay at Barcelo! We came to celebrate our anniversary and soak in the views-and every expectation we had was completely exceeded. The food, the staff, and the scenery were all exceptional.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. Also, we highly recommend booking a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony-it was such a treat. Every single staff member we interacted with was warm, kind, and attentive. We chose the all-inclusive option and were genuinely impressed by the quality of both the food and the drinks.

We had been slightly hesitant after reading a few negative reviews, but honestly, our experience was nothing short of amazing. Some people are just hard to please so I wouldn't pay attention to those reviews. We had an unforgettable stay!

Our only complaints were so minimal but I think some people would want to know. There are no all inclusive food options between 10 pm and midnight. Also, the rooms definitely have some wear and tear so if you're a perfectionist keep this in mind, but honestly it's so minimal !

Lovely hotel set on a cliff edge making for a unique experience and views. Hotel facilities are lovely, good pool options and lounging areas. Nice pool bar. Restaurant was ok although vegetarian options were uninspired therefore lacked variety for a week long stay, and food was often overcooked or dry. Entertainment options were nice. Local area was lovely, a small town which was friendly and great to walk around, although being on a cliff edge means lots of steep inclines and steps. Great coastal walking route. Supermarket just outside the hotel is great for grabbing essentials especially given no free access to drinking water at the hotel unless on a AI package. Room was nice and the private loungers in the garden room was great to get away from the crowds and enjoy the sun and views. Bed was ok but not the most comfortable. Bathroom was not very private and shower had a slow drain therefore could only be used for a few minutes otherwise would flood the room.

Such a thoughtfully designed, beautiful hotel with friendly staff and INCREDIBLE food.

We did an all inclusive and were so impressed that all the drinks were included (we’ve been on some like Club Med where only pretty poor quality drinks were included). The cocktails can vary, depending on who makes them. The food is some of the best I’ve ever had in my life! A different theme every night keeps things fresh and we looked forward to seeing the unique options each night. I had a couple of restaurant reservations - I cancelled them all because the buffet was so good

The staff are so friendly and happy, from the cleaning ladies to reception to the barmen and waiters to the hype men. So lovely!

The rooms are immaculate and the sea views just beautiful. Plus, those cliffs 😍😍😍 Did not stop looking at them from the moment I arrived til the moment I left.

There’s never a scramble to grab a lounger by the pool, there are always plenty available. It’s really quiet and peaceful. Great entertainment throughout the day and night.

Perfect location - lots to do nearby, if you want to leave this beautiful resort!
