Barcelo Santiago - Adults Only

Been here previously, stayed again last week. We keep coming back for the location we love and the stunning views - some of the best sunsets anywhere!
The staff and facilities here are excellent, always friendly. We stayed B&B this time and enjoyed fabulous breakfasts. Pools and pool bar area excellent, though some refurbishment is going on but seems well managed.
The only criticism we would have would be that the rooms (in the older part of the building, we were in 340) are getting a bit tired and are ready for refurbishment though perfectly clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay and will be back at some point in the future.

We had really nice vacations, the hotel is beautifully located and I guess that’s the main reason to stay there… But there were some things that were quite annoying, like loud noises of drilling at the pool areas (the bar was being renovated during our stay) or loud music from other hotels at night. The food was mainly ok, despite of that time we got food poisoned (beware of the raw fish during the Asian night). The Spanish and Canarian dinners were much better. The breakfast was really great though! Staff was mostly very nice, except from one lady at the reception that seemed to be very keen on being rude to the tourists - but we were aware of the social moods at the Islands so we didn’t take it very personally. Overall we had a feeling that the hotel was rather overpriced, but the stunning views helped us to get over this impression :)
(Maybe I should also mention a few cockroaches in our bathroom, luckily met at the end of our stay).

This was our returning 5th visit to Barcelo Santiago. We usually stay 3-4 night early November. this hotel has not disappointed us yet.
Prior to arrival I emailed requesting a room and to reserve Bali bed. both my requests were upheld. and we had a wonderful stay.
The food on previous occasions was not consistently the same standard.However this year the food was consistently of high standard breakfast lunch and dinner.

Barcelo Santiago is my favourite Barcelo hotel and I’ve been to a lot. It cares about relaxation and wellness which is seen across the premises. With delicious food and drink, day and evening entertainment you can relax in the sun or you can join in the animation crews games. This hotel is very personable which as a solo traveler I appreciate. It’s my home from home twice a year and the staff are always fantastic, know your drinks when you return and always have a smile. It’s a beautiful hotel and I always feel like I’m on a cruise.

Stunning hotel in great location. Close to promenade, ocean, natural pools. The weather was much better than in the north part of the island and also it was less tourist. The views from restaurant, room and even stairs between the floors were breathtaking.

The room was big and equipped in lots of cosmetics, toiletries etc. like in 5 star. We were a bit concerned before our stay because we read some reviews about cockroaches, but we haven’t seen any, everything was perfectly clean (except few hairs in bathroom).

Staff and service was amazing and there were no problems to find free sunbeds or tables, it didn’t seem overcrowded.

Evening performances were rather calm like live music, however we expected more party mood in adults only hotel.

Nice hotel, room was cleaned everyday. Food average, I wouldn't recommend all inclusive here because there are many other places for cocktails and meals that are not expensive and have tasty dishes.
Staff friendly, room view breath taking. Our room had a small fridge, safe, they brought iron when I asked. Nice pools and beautiful views from the pool area/bar/dining terrace too.
Twin beds with a gap between them, though mattresses very comfy.
We had a week vacation here with breakfasts and dinners here, didn't spent too much time in the hotel and tried different food in the restaurants. On such case the stay was very good.

Thank you so much for making our short trip so memorable. The whole staff keeps smiling and are extremely attentive. The food selection is fantastic and lots of vegetarian options too. Rooms are very clean and the upgrade was worth every penny. Special thanks to Alex from reception for a smooth check out.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views of the sea and Los gigantes mountains.

Room and communal areas were kept clean throughout my stay.

Entertainment team did a great job round the pool in the daytime.

Good selection at breakfast although personally would have liked some English breakfast tea. Lovely food everyday at the pool bar. Evening meal would like to see more options for children as although I didn't travel with them on this occasion if I was to return with them I would struggle to find food for them.

Love it, love it, love it. It's been 6 years in this hotel and I still want to go back. EVERYTHING what you need for a comfortable and luxurious holiday. The staffs are very kind and helpful, the beautiful view. So many choices of food and pool. We enjoyed a lot to stay there. Really wish to go back.

Overall, a very pleasant experience, even in times of COVID19. The food was great, room service on point. However, there are a few things that would make our stay even better:
(1) It would be amazing if every guest was able to receive a face mask. This shouldn't be that costly for the hotel, and would for sure be appreciated (many people do not realize that on Tenerife you have to almost always wear a mask, even on fresh air, so the quality of their masks is often not ideal for such hot weather)
(2) I think it would be a nice feature to be able to use the beds near pools as a part of the all-inclusive experience. The whole point of all-inclusive is that the guests do not need to think whether stuff is worth it or not :)
(3) We were unable to order tea during lunch or dinner, which we usually like to do.
(4) Our balcony door lock was broken. It's small enough thing to ask for a repair, but big enough to feel unsafe while leaving the room (our neighbors could just walk into our apartment from the balcony). I think it would be great if, as a part of cleaning the room before the next guest, the lock was checked.
(5) I know that it might be very hard to change this, but for us, the bed was much too soft.
