Nice hotel and ok food. There were some problems that altered the experience;
- Mold in the bathroom due to no ventilation. The roof was full of mold. The staff suggested to paint the roof with chemicals while I was there with kids and pregnant wife. I did not want that, so had to live with the mold.
- I woke up to the smell of weed from the apartment next door for several days. The staff was not very eager to respond.
- Air condition did not work. I had to complain several times to make the staff fix the problem.
- No real options for gluten free food
Besides this, the hotel is quite nice. If you get a better room and no drug addicts next door, I am sure you will enjoy your stay.

Hotel needs a bit of TLC, run down and needs repair work. Bathroom had mould and cracked tiles as well as random patches where there looked to have been leaks just painted over.
The food was not gluten allergy safe as assured prior to travelling and staff unable to accommodate. Food often labelled incorrectly and all open buffet style. Staff lovely but language barrier prevented food reassurances which were needed. They did have a gluten free beer but ran out after 4 in the week.
Nothing around the hotel to do-there is a beach walking distance but anything else is about an hour away.
The only positive I can say is that it was clean. Would not be going back.

Love holidays!!! Who is actually rating your hotels, this hotel probably only just scrapes a 3* at a push, its never a 4 star hotel, run down, dated, entertainment is woefull, the food is decent enough and the hotel was clean, but your selling holiday under false ratings, staff were friendly enough, and beds comfy, but I've booked my last holiday through yourselfs, and will book through a company which works on honest accuracy.

Recently stayed at this hotel.Its situated high up the view from our balcony was amazing. The room and balcony size were great with a kitchenette. Air con was great and rooms and towel change was done every 2days. Its much quieter compared to Puerto Rico and if you don't like walking you will end up spending quite abit on taxis.Staff were great with advice in regards to day trips and comparing prices with taxi/bus.All drinks are self service and a good variety of food. Always managed to find a spot around the pool. Would definitely return.

Well what can I say, been coming here for some years and this will be my last! The entertainment is extremely poor, music played too loud you cannot here yourselves speak and a normal volume. On Thursday night there was a good singer on and she was competing with the entertainment girl having holiday makers playing shuffle board infront of the singer, we found this very disrespectful and unprofessional. This needs to be looked at immediately and changed, she didn't even announce the signer was starting! The cleaners are only changing your towels every 4 days, and they haven't changed the bed sheets yet! Really poor now.

Our second visit to this hotel. Was a little concerned after reading reviews regarding new ownership, however we had the best two weeks. We were in room 422 overlooking pool area. Room was clean and spacious enough for a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children) aged 16 and 11. Rooms are now non smoking not even on terrace have to walk over to the adult area.. As a smoker myself I thought was a bit harsh because I don't smoke indoors so an ashtray on the terrace what harms it doing? I can understand having none smoking inside the room as furniture starts to smell but I think this rule needs to be changed. Sarah was exceptional with what she does getting kids and adults involved with activities and never pushy with it. Never a rush in the morning for a sun bed always plenty to go around. Evening activities are hit and miss.. Evolution were amazing! AI food was plentiful however does seem to be repetitive which isn't really a problem just means craving home food. Alot of pasta! Never overcrowded in the restaurant. Prosseco served for 2 1/2 hours on an evening which was nice as the wine leaves a nasty after taste. Views are stunning sun is hot and the pool is refreshing. Will be booking for a 3rd year

Reading reviews leading up to our holiday we had major concerns even considering changing last minute about our up coming stay however rest assured please ignore !!!! We as a family of nine with two young children have just left, even having tears on our departure. We arrived on the 31st July with a warm friendly welcome and given all our info required for our stay. We made our way to our room which was a little bit of an up slope walk especially with our very large cases as I don’t pack light but we arrived to find a wonderful, clean and spacious room with an amazing balcony with sun loungers, table and chairs and even a comfortable outside sofa overlooking the pool area. After unpacking we made our way straight to the all inclusive area for food and drink. Drinks bar is self service yay my idea of heaven wine and I recommend the honey rum on tap 😂 The food throughout our stay was the best all inclusive I’ve had with crispy bacon, actual sausages ( not frankfurters ) and amazing selections. BBQ nights are banging and the firm fav night which is Wednesday and Saturdays. Staff in the restaurant were friendly, helpful and always supported us even with my gluten intolerance offering bespoke menus and preparing me alternatives with care. The chef was lovely and kind and always made sure everything was okay and to requests. Never a problem to find seating which is a bonus. The air con in our room was fab especially in our heat wave the shower head could of been a better but that’s me being picky but did the job. Cleaning staff were amazing and cleaned everywhere daily and rooms were cleaned to high standards even washing up my morning coffee mug. Pools are perfect for the size of the hotel ( 89 rooms) slight saltwater but wasn’t a problem and sun beds were never a problem 🥳🥳 no 5am rush in this hotel 💪🏻 Entertainment was lead but an amazing lady called Sarah who always had a smile and engaged and interacted with the children with joy and tried hard to create an brilliant holiday atmosphere. She had a daily programme with aqua gym, bingo and sports. A couple of things to request for next year is a nightly mini disco for the children before the 9pm entertainment which consisted of a variety of brought in acts accept one evening a week where Sarah would run a quiz which was fun and better use of the child club room ( pens and colouring provided ) and slightly more of a variety of music played throughout the day ( Elton John and bon Jovi on repeat was a bit much at times lol ) but these are just minors and haven’t hindered our holiday at all. The best part of our holiday is the amazing people and friends we have gained. Honestly I think we have made friends for life even booking to all come back with them next year. From meeting the lovely Mark and Karen who are such a lovely couple and we loved your hold the mic game ( what a giggle ) I’m not surprised they have been to this hotel so many times ❤️ then meeting our amazing group Tom, Gina, Kerry, mark

We had a brilliant 2 week break here. Staff and food were fantastic! Rooms are spacious, we had a large terrace to sunbathe on. Pool area is nice and plenty of sunbeds.
A special mention to Sarah the entertainment girl who was brilliant with the kids, Federick (Richard Gere lookalike) an attentive waiter, Alona the waitress and her husband the chef and also Pablo the waiter. All very friendly and hard working. A quiet location but that's what we wanted. Handy to get everywhere either by bus or taxi.

The fifth time at this hotel and just back. We were scared to come back with all bad comments.Even thought about changing, but we stuck with it. It was not the same as before, but we had a great time and Sara was amazing (she’s not scared to get wet), as was the restaurant staff, so we just booked to go back next year, I know all of people said no to coming back.But we still went. Entertainment was a a bit hit or miss, so if miss we went out, hotel always clean and I heard a lot of guests saying they coming back, that says a lot about the hotel. Hope this helps people book.

We were a little concerned having read some of the negative reviews but had an amazing holiday at Altamadores! The rooms were spacious, well-equipped and very clean. The air conditioning and ceiling fans kept the rooms cool throughout the day and night and the fridge-freezer allowed us to have cold water at all times. The beds in the main bedroom were really comfy (the memory foam toppers were such a great idea). The balcony was a great size , with 2 sun loungers, a parasol and a table with 4 chairs - plenty of room for all the family. Also, I'm not sure how many rooms the hotel had but it had the sense that it was not overcrowded. Being able to go down to the pool at any time of the day and get a few sun beds is a totally new experience to me! We have been to all-inclusive resorts many times before, but this is the first hotel where you helped yourself to drinks. This idea is genius! There were never any queues (which we have become used to at other resorts), nobody was stock-piling drinks because you just got another when you had finished. As my wife doesn't drink alcohol, it was a pleasant surprise to find that they had 0% beers behind the bar. The food was always good - not great but always something to choose from. The bbq nights twice a week were also great with steak, chicken, pork and sausage. The snacks between meals were also great, having hot dogs, burgers, toasties, chips and pastries to choose from. We found every member of staff to be friendly, helpful and we had a laugh with a few (especially when we tried our limited Spanish!). The girl who runs the daily activities is great with the children and works hard to try to get everyone involved. From what I gather, she was relatively new and it seems she is still finding her feet there. The evening entertainment was a little drab though. The main theme was singers throughout the week, some of which were good. A broader range of shows would make this much better. The location of the hotel was ok but the walk to and from Amadores beach was quite draining, especially in the heat. However, a taxi from the beach going back up the hill was only 4 euros 50 so not excessive, especially for a family of 4. I would definitely consider returning to Altamadores as overall, we had a fantastic break.
