Hotels in Pau

I never got to terms with Pau as a town - August is not the time to go I learnt - but the hotel is pleasant, and the staff at reception and in the restaurants are helpful, polite and efficient. On that basis I would happily come back to the hotel and recommend it.

A very nice hotel in a great location for exploring Pau. Our room was comfortable and well appointed, but didn't have a balcony and faced the car park, which was disappointing for a 5 star hotel. Also, the pool and spa area was advertised as open every day, but was closed on the Monday when we stayed, again disappointing. Probably the best hotel in Pau although located far away from the city center, but nice location in a park. Rooms are okay not more. Breakfast buffet was good. You need to reserve for the indoor pool area to avoid crowds. Possibility to load your e-car indoor.

The hotel is located at the entrance of the pedestrian street in Pau. It is a very old hotel with warm service and free underground parking. Lovely 3 star hotel, rooms are large shower worked well but the attachment to the wall didnt grip so you couldnt alter the height., bed was very comfortable and I loved the pillows. Correct. It is an old hotel in which some of the rooms have been renovated. The one that corresponded to me was and therefore it was quite good. A nice hotel very accessible. It is located in a rather quiet part in the outskirts of Pau. The hotel borders a wood and is close to the hospital. The staff is very nice and very approachable. The reception is in a bright central hall with a small gym and a small bar.

Good hotel, but far from the city center and not easily accessible by public transport

Nice, clean and quiet…downside is it’s not close to the center of town…had to drive for shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was very nice and the parking was free. Rooms are on the small side..bathrooms really small. Good place if you are doing day trips out of Pau.

Very nice hotel, easy parking and nice rooms

We were unable to book a disabled room, so we thought we would put up with normal room. This was not a problem until we saw the bathroom in room 303. The shower cubicle would only fit a size 6 and was a waste of time. Went down to reception and a very nice gentleman helped us out and gave us a disabled room out of thin air, when there was not a room available previously. 🤔

We have stayed at this Hotel a few times on our way from Calais to Spain Always a good stay.

Really good for an overnight stay. Clean, comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff. We had our cat with us and a very reasonable €5 charge applied (for extra cleaning). Close to a number of restaurants and convent for leaving Pau during the morning rush hour. Room a little worn and basic, and I would find it not ideal for longer stays but great as a stopover.

Nice rooms, the shower room isn't bad (a real shower not a plastic cubical). The rooms are spacious enough, free wifi and french tv. Breakfast is fine, not much selection but everything you need.

Location would not be ideal for anyone pushing a wheelchair. Rooms were quite basic, air con was not working though there was a fan in the room. Room was not cleaned throughout our 3 night stay and we did have to ask for clean towels. It was a nice quiet location and the staff were very friendly. The dining area was nice and a lovely pool area.

Fantastic hotel. We have carefully checked all offered accommodation in Lourdes and this was the best option. Everything was great. We had 2 dogs with us and we were given a room with the garden - it was very convenient. Beautiful quiet place. Very clean. Nice fresh bedding. The stuff is very friendly and attentive. This is my third time staying, and it is still amazing, staff are very helpful, rooms are great, the hotel is very family orientated and has a kids section that my kids really enjoyed when they got up and just before bed. Booked a triple room, was clean and beds were super comfy. Location is amazing literally three minutes away from the sanctuary!! We loved our stay! It wasn't luxury but thoroughly enjoyable. Plenty of coffee and tea options with a kettle and a machine also. Ladies at reception were very helpful and help to order a taxi as we had to catch a train in the morning.

Planned a trip to lourdes from Mumbai & it was such a pleasant stay in this hotel. Had booked it as it was nearest to the Sanctuary but the hospitality, food (Breakfast) & service was top notch. Hope I do visit lourdes once again in my lifetime & definitely would stay here again if that day comes.

The hotel is very near the Cathedral which is why we booked here.we have arrived almost midnight as we have travelled all the way from Paris. Check in was smooth. All staff are very friendly! We are a group of 5 and are booked in a 5 person room. Nice and cozy. They even have a second shower and toilet. Small but function make it so much easier for a group of 5. Free parking is a bonus. All great.

Our visit was part of a Pilgrimage to Lourdes so a large group. Full board, breakfast , 3 course lunch and dinner, far too much. The quality of food varied from lovely traditional home cooking to disappointing pre-cooked "ready meals". Maybe less food at lunchtime with a better quality dinner time meal. I was in a big group for a pilgrimage to Lourdes, the hotel itself was quite nice, worth a stay for sure. The food was ok, pretty good as far as hotel breakfasts go. The ladies and gentlemen at the front desk were very kind as were the servers in the restaurant.

It is a beautiful hotel from another era. Art Nouvea style. The dining room elegant and old world. It has comfy beds, great toiletries, french furniture. It is steps from the church and the procession. Parking is available, one block over in the public parking lot at 15 Euro a day. A perfect place to stay to visit Our Ladyvof Lourdes.

Because we stayed there in late October, literally one night before it closed for the season, we did not get to experience very much of its offerings. I came here specifically for the food. I really enjoy the seafood rice from Spain; it's delicious and comes in a generous portion. However, the language barrier is a challenge as it appears they don't speak English. FYI, they do accept card payments.

Overall we had a pleasant stay. It was just the layout of our room that is a bit weird. We have a seperate toilet and bathroom, which we rejoice at first but soon came to realize that there was no other washbasin than inside the bathroom, so one will still have to wait to use the toilet if someone is in the bathroom or goes with a hand unwashed. So very close to the Grotte yet very quiet and calm. When you enter the lobby you are greeted by a smiling person at the counter. Checking in was quick and easy. You have a good room and we chose a room with a great view of the entrance to the sanctuary. You can also choose from one or all of your meals served in the hotel restaurant. It’s simple but very good.

Perfect location to casually stroll to the sanctuary. We were greeted with a smile and everyone at the hotel were friendly. We decided to eat at the hotel with a demi- pension. The food was nice and they allowed us to bring our small French Bulldog as long as he was behaved. We plan to stay there again soon.

To be honest, I really loved this hotel. At first glance, it looked a bit shady, but it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The room I was assigned had a window view of the Shrine of Our Lady—which was truly special. At night, I could even hear the gentle chants of “Ave, Ave, Ave Maria” drifting through the air. It was such a peaceful and moving experience. The hotel may not look fancy on the outside...
