It is an old hotel with Zen / Oriental atmosphere.
The physical key is still used for the door lock.

It has free parking.
The staff speak perfect English and is friendly.

Breakfast with 15 euro which is decent.

The only downfall for me is the bedsheet and blanket. I don't like wool texture. It would hard to make it clean.

I cannot adjust the temperature of the heater in my room

Absolutely lovely place & service. We were coming in from Paris by way of the train to Avignon but due to strike & maintenance issues our train was delayed 2 ½ hours, which made us nearly late to pick up our rental car in Avignon and already after dark when everything would be closed for the night. I emailed the staff in advance to explain the situation and not only were they understanding but they sent us the gate & door codes and left our room key on the front desk counter with our name on a card next to it. We got in stressed but immediately felt relieved to get settled into our room and at-ease.

The staff was polite, professional and always smiling. The breakfast service was honestly the best we had in six weeks of traveling France, from Paris to Chaumont, Lyon to Arles. Amazing croissants, prompt servers who prepared my morning hot chocolates & took the time to get to know us and our breakfast preferences during our stay. And there was a sweet, elderly cat who would wander into the sunny dining area to sit at our feet keeping us company. The whole place was charming.

Parking is convenient, the location easily lets you access Saint-Rémy and from there parts all around rural Provence. It’s only about five minutes’ drive from Boulevard Mirabeau (site of Van Gogh’s painting “The Road Menders”) and another five or so to “Les Antiques” (the mausoleum and triumphal arch of Julii) as well as the fantastic ruins of the Roman town of Glanum. You can also drive a few minutes that way to see Saint Paul de Mausole asylum where Van Gogh painted “The Starry Night” amongst others when he stayed there. We got up every morning well rested and looking forward to whatever that day’s adventure would be. L’Amandiere gave us the complete French southern countryside experience.

The staff spoke excellent English but were patient when I practiced my novice French. The place was quiet and definitely had more of a country b&b feel than a hotel. The bathroom was spacious and clean, well-apportioned with towels and built-in hairdryer. Still took a little getting used to the European convention to not have shower doors, but the open shower floor plan was chic and still perfectly fine (much prefer it anyway to cramped American-style hotel shower/tub spaces). The rooms might seem a little cramped if you travel with a lot of large luggage as we did, but you can’t complain about your own private terrace out back and the beds are wonderfully comfortable.

We hadn’t yet gotten used to the European “midday break” pattern but even when we couldn’t go out to eat, the hotel offered a delicious “midday snack menu” that we tried out one day. Delicious croque monsieur, thick split-pea soup, a great charcuterie board…definitely took care of our midday hunger until places reopened for dinner.

Bear in mind that we weren’t even visiting during any great tourist season (first week of March), yet we never felt we weren’t getting the best the staff had to offer even if it wasn’t a busy time for them.

We’ll never forget our time in Provence and staying at L’Amandiere is a big reason why. Would gladly recommend staying there anytime, it was a highlight of our trip to stay in Saint-Rémy, and we plan on staying there again when we return.

We spent two nights in this beautiful hotel. It has great location just few minutes of walk to the town center. We recieved amazing suggestions on what to see and experience from hotel owner Thomas. And he really nailed it - we really had great two days here. He booked us an amazing lunch, give us specific instructions on whic route to take to have the best views, … We really recomend staying at this welcoming property.

If i could give zero stars i would. Our room looked nothing like the pictures, the floor felt dirty, and it smelled of pee around the bed, and our shower started spreading sewage smell throughout the room the minute we ran the water, airing the room did nothing. The shower corners were filled with mold. Our bed springs seemed to be broken.
We had the most awful stay. We payed ahead for 7 nights but after only one night we left even though the hotel refused to refund us for the remaining nights, saying goodbye to 700 euros. Also, the hotel manager said they are well aware that some of the rooms smell bad. It was unbelievable. STAY AWAY!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life!
If you are non French speaker beware, the treatment of foreign guests is horrendous. Maybe because of not so good English language skills by the owners (husband and wife) or simply because they prefer French guests but we were shown as not welcomed from the moment we stepped in. Because of this kind of treatment, we left the premises not completing our stay.

Truly shocking experience!

Nice hotel with many amenities including a pool.
Beautiful garden that wrap around the small and sympathetic hotel. Sufficiently large parking lot. Good breakfast included.

We found this cozy, hidden gem on our trip in July 2016. Rooms are modern and clean, yet simple. They have a.c. and that's a must in July and also had hair dryers. Breakfast was offered and was good. Staff was friendly and spoke a little English or at least enough to help you when needed. Some very good dining options are within a long walk or short drive into town where parking is easy. Our favorite place was in town A la Table de Nicolas. Great food, nice folks, calm atmosphere. All in all, likely one of our favorite stops in Europe in a long time.

Charming hotel. Incredibly peaceful, every room with its own little garden, a scrumptious breakfast and the freedom to get in and out at any time without hassle. Higly recommended.

What a charming hotel. Just on the edge of town. The garden is extremely relaxing along with the accomodation in general. Breakfast is great and plentiful.
