Reviews
Aside from the spa, the resort itself is stunning, with elegant architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds. It’s the perfect place to unwind, with luxurious amenities that make for a truly rejuvenating vacation. If you’re looking for a retreat that combines relaxation with a touch of luxury, Lindos Royal is the place to be.
Nothing in the mini fridge after Day 1, when it was stocked with 1 small bottle of water per guest. Nothing after that.
Rooms are tiny - just enough space to put a bed - really basic. Separate loo & shower cubicles (which to me is a plus) but the shampoo /shower gel dispensers were broken. No hand soap at the sink.
All inclusive was restricted hours, and again very basic. You’re limited to ordering two drinks per bar visit, too, so in a large group that would be ridiculous.
10€ deposit for a pool towel is pretty standard nowadays, but you’re restricted to changing it only 3 times. Nobody tells you this, you have to ask at Reception
The corridors are grubby and plates of food and other rubbish are left (guests are doing this but it’s not being cleared)
Sun loungers are basic, but if you’re lucky you’ll be able to get a thicker mattress to put on one. You’ll have to find that yourself though. There doesn’t seem to be anybody responsible for ensuring gusts have access to mattresses to put on the loungers, & there are very few! There’s barely space to walk between or around the loungers, too.
Entertainment is shockingly bad, but as it’s the end of the season I expected a lack of entertainment anyway.
The bar by reception charges extortionate prices. The downstairs bar stinks of damp - in fact the entire place smells iffy, like stagnant water. The pool bar is possibly the best, but the coffee machine is a bit hit n miss, and the food consists of chips, pizza, cake, biscuits, and a small range of mini wraps (cream cheese for example)
Rooms are ‘cleaned’ daily, but you could come back to find they’ve forgotten to provide towels, or they’ve created bed art - very inconsistent- pot luck how well the room is cleaned
Basically I’d say they treat as if they’ve got your money so you’ll have to put up with the shoddiness.
Oh and the pools close at 6 - strict on this! The sun disappears behind the hills at around 5, but it remains light til around 7 (October)
The beach is shingle (which I was prepared for) but the sun loungers on the beach are not for hotel guests so you’ll need to bring something to sit on if you’re going to stay for the day
I’ve been lucky as I hired a car and travelled around the island to different places every day, which was the plan anyway, but I chose this hotel for its location (near Lindos Village) and its 5 star rating! I wouldn’t come again and I cannot recommend it as I know there are much better hotels on this beautiful island.
Most people in the evening sitting on sun loungers, very confusing layout. Wasn't worth the price we paid. However staff etc all very nice and location was gorgeous.
Obviously some of the reviews were scary in terms of the gulf between amazing and a disaster but my own personal experience was the hotel is superb but it needs a bit of work in the rooms.
The room itself had an incredible balcony view of the sea, a super comfy bed, a dodgy wardrobe and someone had clearly tried to kick the door in. Admittedly I’m not painting a good picture but the view of the sea/beach beats everything.
The hotel itself is in a great location with clean and tidy eating areas, spotless reception and a lot of space.
The food was also incredible, I know it’s an all inclusive and some people may have had better experiences but we found it great. My Mrs is a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for her. Breakfasts were amazing.
Lastly and more importantly the staff… they work so hard, they’d do anything for you, and even though many of them are working long shifts they are still happy and smiley. All of them greet you, they’re efficient and you can have a laugh with the bar staff. I do think it depends on your stay and luck of the draw with the rooms but personally I believe this is a very special place.
Ironically for roughly the same price of a room here for a day you could spend the same on staying in a premier inn in Somerset…
All was ok until we got to the room. Half of the glass windows did not have curtains so at night the lighting in the room was extremely bright.
We contacted reception and they promptly delivered sleeping masks which were uncomfortable but we used them to somewhat get some sleep.
The next day they said they will install curtains. I am attaching photos to what we saw entering the room. Some curtains taped to the window. Half had fallen because obviously it couldn’t hold.
The following morning after I gave a bad review to their internal system, guest relations literally stalked me at breakfast and during our discussion told me that people from Northern Europe love the sun and it’s now a trend not to have curtains in their homes so that’s why the room isn’t fully covered to block out the light at night. After that she proposed to compensate us with a dinner and told me to wear a sleeping mask.
So if you choose this hotel bring your sleeping mask and prepare to wake up at 6 from the beautiful sunrise.
They also have an ant infestation problem in the outdoor spaces.
On a positive note ite they have a lovely pool and nice buffet breakfast.
I am attaching photos at so you can see the light in the room at night and in the morning and also the construction they provided as a solution.
Despina, George and Sergio at the Lindos Royal hotel. Being the end of season it isn’t easy to keep positive all three made our time lovely. The extra touches remembering our drinks, our preferences very lucky to have these three staff members. The rest was lack lustre. The rest of the team wanted to finish, the property is outdated, sewage smells linger in some pool and bar areas. The last few days we felt like an inconvenience. We didn’t let this get to us and had a great holiday. Overall I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.
