Atlantica Imperial Resort - Adults Only in Kolimbia

Serene atmosphere, clean room, delicious buffets and welcoming staff. We were able to pick up towels from the spa area to use at the pool and swap for fresh ones every 2 days. Dinner options were almost entirely different each night and efficiently organised. Shout out to Thanassis for making us smile on the way to dinner every evening, also to Laura and Kiki because they made the breakfast experience at the Blue Bay restaurant very enjoyable, and to Elia for his hard work and warm character. Great team, great service. The hotel is within walking distance to Kolympia beach, and Kolympia rock (which is worth a climb). There are small shops nearby to pick up snacks and souvenirs, and a regular local bus service to Rhodes centre and closer towns like Lindos.

Stayed in the fabulous hotel with a couple of our friends for 1 week we stayed in a premium sea view room with balcony . Outstanding views and very clean and comfy room could not find any faults at all . I did email the hotel before we went to ask if our friends who were in the same type of room as us could be next to us as we booked separately . They replied straight away and we were next door to them . We were all inclusive and we didn’t bother with the a la carte restaurant as the food and service in the buffet restaurant was fantastic loads of choice and hot . Saw some reviews about not enough food and having to get there at 6.30 to get table etc ignore this we went about 7.30 each night sat outside on the terrace and saw the waiters replacing food trays that were running low so no issues The staff were amazing very friendly so helpful too many to name . We were with Tui but we sorted out our own trips went to Symi booked through Get Your Guide App on a speed boat straight there and back about 4 hours later . We took a taxi to Lindos best time to go is 9 as gets very busy and returned 3 hours later with same taxi firm . About 5 mins from the hotel is a small harbour . There we hired a boat for the 4 of us for 4 hours they showed us how to drive it and it was so easy and had an amazing time would recommend . We stayed at the Atlantica imperial for 7 nights as a couple and half board. Like many reviews we found interactions with staff to be hit or miss. On many occasions they were wonderful and went above and beyond with a smile on their face. However some staff came across as rude and unhelpful. For example, we requested two frozen strawberry daiquiris but were provided with two normal strawberry daiquiris. If we were all inclusive this wouldn’t have bothered us and we would happily of drank them. However, when you are paying €26 for two drinks, we would expect them to be the drinks we ordered. No problem though, I took the drinks back to the bar and mentioned that we wanted frozen ones. The staff said that the machine is broken? We asked if it was possible for us to go upstairs to the bar and get them there instead but apparently ‘the whole system is down’. This made little sense to me as a blender doesn’t operate on a system but okay no problem we’ll get something else. I asked to have the previous bill taken off our tab as we didn’t want or drink the two drinks and wanted something else instead. The staff then had to call a manager over and after a 10 minute wait they finally said that yes they would let us not pay for the drinks we didn’t order or want….. My second issue with the hotel is the incredible amount of upsells which aren’t clear when booking. Lovely pictures of the beds by the pool are provided in the hotel page on tui however these cost a whopping €50-€90 per day! But you do get a free bowl of fruit…. Our room was spacious and very clean however it was situated next to one of the staffs rooms. This came with the added noise at around 7am each morning of the staff having their meeting, talking loudly and banging. Which inevitably woke us up each morning, although I’m sure this can easily be rectified with speaking to them about this. My final note would be on the food, again to echo previous reviews despite each night being a different theme it does feel a lot like ‘same food different sauce’. That said the food was some of the best I’ve had at a buffet and the kitchen staff do an excellent job of ensuring they don’t run out of any particular item. Overall we did enjoy our stay, the setting is lovely, the beach is beautiful and the hotel is a great place. However, in our opinion due to the above it does fall short of a 5 star hotel, hence the 4 star rating.

Having stayed in several 5-star hotels, I would say Atlantica Imperial Resort leans more towards a high 4-star standard rather than a true 5-star experience. Let’s start with the positives: the food was genuinely excellent. There was a great selection at every meal, the quality was consistently high, and everything was served piping hot. The Street Lab bar by the pool deserves a special mention – the gyros were incredible, and the staff there were some of the friendliest we encountered. The rooms were also a real highlight. We stayed in one of the most basic options, yet it was modern, spacious, spotless, and came with a lovely garden area – really couldn’t fault it. However, there were a few things that let the experience down. The sunbeds were uncomfortable and quite dated, with a couple actually breaking while we were using them. The pool area was often crowded, so we ended up preferring the grass area, which was more peaceful. The beach area was also very busy and quite stony – not the most relaxing beach setting, so we only went once. In terms of service, it was a bit hit and miss. Some staff were warm, helpful, and really went out of their way. Others came across as a little abrupt or even rude at times, which was disappointing given the resort’s star rating. We were also surprised to find that some “luxury” extras, like premium sunbeds, came at an additional cost – especially frustrating after already paying a premium price for the holiday. Similarly, as all-inclusive guests, we were surprised to find that some food and drinks weren’t actually included, which felt a bit misleading. On the plus side, check-in was smooth and welcoming – we were greeted with champagne and a tasty sandwich, which was a lovely touch after a long journey. Overall, the hotel is very clean, the pool is lovely, and the rooms are definitely a standout feature. But there’s room for improvement when it comes to the comfort of the sunbeds, the crowding around the pool, the consistency of staff service, and transparency around extra costs. If you’re expecting a full 5-star experience, you might feel a little underwhelmed. But if you’re happy with a polished 4-star resort with excellent food and modern rooms, this could still be a solid choice – just go in with the right expectations.

Overall, this hotel offers a solid stay with clean, well-maintained grounds, comfortable rooms and a good location. But while it ticks many boxes, it falls short of being exceptional. This was my second visit, but you wouldn’t have known. Not even a “welcome back” on check-in. Check-in was brief which is acceptable, especially late at night, but could have been supported with a leaflet in the room. Hotel App seems to have been developed many years ago without updates since so is fairly clunky. During our stay we were celebrating 2 special occasions. We had emailed twice beforehand but this was sadly ignored. When we were there, we realised why as they can certainly recognise occasions for a fee. Sadly, even for a fee, they did not write the correct name on the celebration card. Staff service is inconsistent. Some go out of their way to be warm and attentive, while others (particularly at the pool bar and reception) can come across borderline rude, as echoed in other reviews on here. At breakfast, the host does an excellent job greeting guests and managing flow. Sadly this is let down by the waiting staff who have a tendency to clear plates and drinks the moment you’re up at the buffet or return with your ordered coffee once you’ve finished eating. Coffee, once it does arrive, is disappointing - some of the options taste like instant coffee. A self-serve espresso machine could be a welcome upgrade and may take pressure off waiting staff. The hotel skews toward an older demographic, but younger couples (like us) still make up a decent share. Unfortunately, the hotel feels stuck in the past. The pool lacks atmosphere and day-time entertainment consists of aqua aerobics. The addition of a DJ with chill house vibes by the pool would modernise and add much needed atmosphere without ostracising the older generation. The residences section across the road is like a ghost town and after 1 drink you feel like your time is up. Without innovation, it risks losing future guests to newer, more modern alternatives that are opening up on the island like Cooks Club. I’d happily recommend this hotel to my retired parents, but not to my friends. Buffet food is abundant, but underwhelming. There’s certainly plenty of choice, but not much standout quality. Vegetarian options are well catered for. Buffet “themes” barely differ night-to-night and only vaguely reflect the cuisine theme. The same food in a different sauce seems more of a true reflection. Desserts feel mass-produced, defrosted and rather forgettable. This is such a shame as the a la carte restaurants are exceptional! The food and service in Ginger was amazing, and is quite sad that they clearly can provide excellent food if they want to. There also seems to be a two-tier system. We were half board, and cocktails were made properly. All-inclusive guests, however, would receive a lower-quality alcohol substitute for the same drink (e.g. non-aperol aperol spritz). The most amazing hotel and staff. From the moment we arrived we were given a nice cool towel and a glass of sparkling wine . Check in was a breeze and the reception staff were very polite and courteous. The whole hotel and grounds are immaculate and always cleaning the public areas. Our room was huge with the most amazing sea views. Air-conditioning was so good as were the pillows and even had a pillow menu to choose from. The food in the buffet restaurant was the best we've ever had and the deserts are out of this world, just so much choice, so much so we never contemplated using the a la carte restaurants. The food lab is great for snacks during the day a d the selection was amazing , pizza,burger and chips,tuna mayo salad rolls, cheese and ham salad rolls the list just goes on. The evening entertainment was nice and you must try the sky bar for a perfect cocktail after dinner. The pool is large and well kept as are the gardens. Always plenty of sunbeds to choose from .

This is our 10th visit to this hotel, each time is perfect. Thanos the room manager was brilliant organising our holiday for us only a few weeks before. The food, drink, rooms, pools etc everything is wonderful. We visited all 3 al’carte restaurants, they really are worth a visit. The food is mitchelin star quality, as are the staff. Bruno, Stavros, Elia, MInas and the wonderful George they are very knowledgeable about the food and wine, credit should go to them. They will go the extra mile to make your meal enjoyable and special. A big thank you to kind hearted Orsy and sexy Nikos from the lobby bar, always making you laugh. Andreas (manager) in the restaurant is a real gentleman, he is perfect in his role. Pamela in the restaurant is so bubbly and funny for such a young girl she does a wonderful job. The staff make this hotel, as do the other guests. We have met some lovely people here over the years who we now call friends guests and staff. Thank you once again for a very special holiday.

We have travelled to Greece every year for a few years now and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at and would return to We arrived in the very early hours but check in was seamless and explained fully even though it was 2am, our room was huge, clean modern and the bed was so comfortable We were staying all inclusive so our mini bar was topped up every day, there were tea and coffee facilities in the room , the towels were the perfect size for after a refreshing shower, they actually wrap around your whole body! The buffet never disappointed us, something every night that we enjoyed, they have theme nights every day, Asian was probably our favourite followed by Greek! We visited the ginger al a carte restaurant as part of our AI package! Absolutely amazing! 4 courses each! Food delicious Pool is a great size, and no deep end which means you can stand up in any part! It was very refreshing in the mid day sun! Pool bar drinks were nice, some more so than others! Only thing that let this down was Katerina, she wasn’t the friendliest but I’m not sure I would be working in that heat every day! No need to get up early to reserve sunbeds always plenty available We did pay to use the cabana style sunbeds around the pool which cost €40 a day but worth it for us Big shout out to Orsy in the main bar where we drank in an evening, she makes you feel very welcome, remembers your order and room number, such a friendly face! The cocktails here were much nicer! Honestly we cannot fault any part of this holiday and would return

Had an amazing stay at the imperial resort, was truly one of the best holidays I’ve ever had. The cleanliness inside and around the hotel was exceptional, all of the staff were very quick and helpful at their service. Christos the general manager was very welcoming and took time to help us with any inquiries we had about Rhodes. Furthermore, the quality of food at the buffet and restaurants were top notch and kept all the family very happy. Overall, we had an impeccable time and will definitely visit again soon.

Great hotel, all the staff is very friendly! The waitress who walks around the pool is very smiling and friendly. 😍😊
