Ibiscus Corfu Hotel in Roda

Just back from a 5 day stay.. I'll start with the positives Views are spectacular. Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Hotel and grounds are exceptionally clean. The breakfast is brilliant, so much choice. The lunch is good, we ate at the pool bar each day, plenty of space to sit and eat. All Inc drinks are great. Towels for pool/beach included. Water in room replaced regularly. The not so great bits.. Evening meals aren't the best. Food is very rarely hot. One night a week is seafood night and if you don't like seafood there is literally no other option. We ended up eating salad and bread. No one brings drinks to you in the restaurant or by the pool bar (you'd expect this at 5 star) Drain smell when walking past certain areas, bathroom in room quite smelly. Sunbeds all occupied by 730am. Meaning early starts. (Hotel will remove towels before this) Pool small for the size of the hotel and not deep or particularly cool. Would I stay again? In the area yes. But I'd try a different hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 11 nights in June it's not a 5 star at all the Tourist tax is a rip off £160 before we got to the room,the room was nice and had a large balcony,but no sun loungers on the balcony,breakfast was fine,dinnertime food was better by the pool,and the lads serving were great,niko and aldi great fun evening meals are not good we went out for food to roda 6 times which us not good for a 5 star hotel

Right I don't do reviews. So I'm going to base this for the British point of view . Booked with Jet2 Positives.. Nice clean hotel, clean rooms, quite secluded location, Very friendly staff, nice little shop near reception, Easy shuttle bus leaves every hour to Roda which was a life saver for food in the evening, Sea view from balcony was amazing, the hotel is in a good location of Corfu. Had a offer of a drink checking in Negatives.. Breakfast ok, mid day meal not bad, Evening meal forget it. Pool snack bar ok for chips watching flies flying round the food as it's being made put me off, the drinks are poor quality, entertainment for kids is none existent (luckily we didn't need that but I'm saying this just in case you've got little ones). Sun bed wars start at 7 ish so if you get up early you'll get a good pick. No way on earth it's a 5 star more like a 3 or 4. We checked out never got asked by reception if we had a good stay just took our key said good bye have a save flight. No wrist bands here just walk in and figure it out. I get the feeling it's not quite set up for the British. You can always tell this in a hotel when you looked at the TV in the room just a few news channels , mainly German and Israeli, so you can tell what your in for. IF YOU HAVE A PICKY EATER IN YOUR PARTY DO NOT GO !. The transfer from the Hotel to the Airport was horrendous we just made it to the airport it time to gat our flight home I'm not being negative just factual, we stopped for 10 days it was nice we took a trip to Albania which was great so it wasn't a horrible stay. So if the food budget for the hotel was bigger, The drinks was better quality, the double beds wasn't 2 singles pushed together You would definitely have a 4 Star plus. Wish we had the room with a private pool people was saying Roda Beach Hotel nextdoor was lots better

Just returned home after staying here for 10 nights. A nice hotel but definitely not 5 star worthy, would give it 3 at the most. Upon arriving at the hotel we went to check in and were told that our room with the swim up pool had been overbooked and they were going to put us in a private pool room at no extra cost, a fair trade! We were taken to the room by golf buggy which was well, quite an experience and a bumpy ride but friendly staff nonetheless. The next day we were moved to room 101 which was lovely but don’t expect to be sunbathing by the pool all day as this room is very much shaded by the huge trees and the sun doesn’t reach the balcony until very late afternoon. Food is ok but nothing to shout about and not very warm at the best of times. However all staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were extremely disappointed to see that our towels had been removed from sun beds by the pool one morning and had been taken to reception and put in a bin bag in the back room. We went to retrieve these and the receptionist said there had been complaints that people were reserving sun beds and then not using them all day. Fair enough but we were intending to use these beds as we had done all the other days when it hadn’t been an issue. Instead someone else was sat on our sun beds and by that time all the sun beds had been taken so we spent the whole day back at our room on the balcony. There really needs to be either more sun beds or a booking system for the sun beds to make it fair. A nice stay but definitely some improvements to be made. Also watch out for mosquitoes and ants! Ants are a huge problem here and although they tend to remain outside, can be a real nuisance.

Not sure this hotel is worth 5 stars, maybe this is so they can charge 15 euros a night! Positives: All staff at the hotel very friendly, especially the resturant and both bars. Free shuttle bus a bonus to go into Roda. If more passengers than bus can take, (8) the driver will return and collect, same for return journey. Room spacious, air conditioning very effective. Negatives: Food at best, warm, although plenty of choice we never had a hot meal. On one occassion all cooked breakfast items were cold. Everyday we stayed here, 7 days, they never sorted the toaster. Saw a lot of guests informing staff, nothing was done to sort out a new toaster. One occassion our room wasn't cleaned and no bottled water left, had to top up from pool bar using our own bottle. Bathroom although adequate size there are no towel rails on which to hang towels to dry, had to put them outside on balconly. Balconly not cleaned the week we were there. Lots of bird droppings! Not enough sun beds and parasols. The last few days we were there people were sat on the grass as all the beds were full. Sunbeds need replacing, most were broken.
