We booked this hotel as we had been the previous year and it was a lovely family run hotel so we booked for this year. When we arrived we could see there had been some renovations done which were a positive. However it was clear that it was no longer a family run hotel, Villa Rossa bar had gone which was a highlight last year with George the barman. When we arrived, only two of the three rooms were available due to a computer error. Two of our older children had to stay in a villa down the road for the first night. The villa was a 10 minute walk which they expected them to do with cases. We complained and eventually they drove them there to be told they had to vacate the next morning by 9am! I had emailed ahead asking for our rooms to be together as we had four children with us. Two rooms were but the third was on the other side of the hotel when the older two returned from the villa the next day. The other two rooms were located by the back of the hotel by the closed down Villa Rossa bar. There was a rocky old path and we discovered that this was staff quarters turned into hotel rooms and staff were staying next door to us. There was mess on the staff balconies. The wall between the rooms was falling off the wall, the shower flooded, at night it was pitch black and difficult to get back to our room. We did not feel Safe especially the fact the younger two children were in their own room. We tried to complain to reception staff but kept getting told the manager was not available. In the end we gave up. The staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. What was a lovely quiet family hotel last year was a nightmare this year.

This was our third stay at the Belvedere and another great holiday. This time we went with my brother and sister-in-law and they loved the hotel as well. They have made a few changes since last year and the dining room with new tables and chairs is a positive also they have now made a new sun terrace. A few negatives was that the villa rosa was closed,i missed this as we always liked a late night drink and a chat with George. The other thing was the rooms on the ground floor with terraces are not very good and something the management should address as there was quite a few people moaning about them. Overall we had another wonderful stay at the Belvedere and all the staff who work there are welcoming, polite and friendly. Looking forward to our fourth stay soon!

Our stay at this hotel was not what we expected, there were several issues that impacted our experience. On arrival at the hotel, the initial room we had been allocated had been crossed out on our paperwork. We were told it was a typo and shown to an alternative room, room 203 which turned out to be dark and dingy - think hostel or faulty towers. In room 203 - the air conditioning was broke, wires for the lamp were taped together, the fridge didn't work and made noise all night, the bath water ran brown. To top it off, we were given two single beds despite booking a double room as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The neighbours were partying and arguing until 4 am and the phone to call reception was broke, you had to hold the wire into the handset to enable you to make a call. When we woke up the first morning we went to reception to inform them we were unhappy with the room allocated due to it not being what we had booked nor what was advertised in the brochure, the reception staff informed us that there were no alternative rooms available due to the hotel being fully booked, but assured us we were a priority for a new room if one became available. I contacted TUI in the app to advise the of the room allocation and the problems we had. After a short while we had breakfast and went and sat by the pool, the young man from reception was incredibly helpful and managed to secure us a different room after our TUI rep visited (though it's unclear if this was just a coincidence). The second room we were allocated was 414, it was larger and closer to what we expected from the advertised rooms when we booked. In room 414, the air conditioning didn't work, the shower appeared to be blocked and flooded the bathroom and bedroom, the toilet was faulty and ran water all night (this was reported to reception due to my husband being a light sleeper but nothing was done), and the bathroom ceiling was leaking and dripping on to us when using the toilet. The toilet door could only be closed by slamming it shut, which was extremely disruptive at night and I would imagine this wouldn’t be pleasant for the neighbours either. There were a number of other guests that were also complaining about room issues and had been allocated incorrect room types, some were even charged an ‘upgrade fee’ to change rooms. Now onto the positives, the young man and woman working at the pool bar were extremely hardworking and friendly. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and warm and also appear clean. The cleaning staff are very hardworking and the hotel appears well kempt. The location itself is peaceful (aside from the noisy guests) and it pleasant for a bit of R&R. Breakfast was edible, and lunch was nice, we chose to eat our evening meals elsewhere. We would highly recommend the local taverna ‘Perfetto’ at the top of the hill for authentic Greek food they do an amazing Beef Stifado and their grilled prawns are excellent their customer service is excellent and food

After reading the reviews of previous years, I was expecting an average stay. But I think there must have been a shift in management and a complete rebrand. Areas of the hotel have also been renovated and refreshed. It's a beautiful hotel. The breakfast is great, in a beautiful room that is open to a large balcony, the rooms are spacious and look very similar to the photos. The cleaners come every day which is nice. The pool is cleaned, the sun lounger cushions are new and really comfy. And also ALL staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond. By far the comfiest hotel room we have ever stayed in! The only issue is the climate/ tourist tax which is €10 a night which is a little eye watering, but if you are expecting it then it's fine. Overall a wonderful stay in a much improved hotel. Don't hesitate to stay here! Also perfetto restaurant just up the road is delicious!

I’m currently staying here until May 28th. I will be writing a more detailed review after that, but trust me nothing to worry about. If you’re coming here this year I’m happy to answer questions whilst I’m here. Ask me anything and I’ll be as honest as possible.

We decided on this hotel after reading some really negative rooms but thought we would give it a chance, unfortunately what people have said turned out to be exactly true and not exaggerated in anyway. The hotel setting and grounds is really nice when viewed externally. It’s set on the hills, over 4 levels with nice sea views in the background. That really is the only positive I’m afraid. We were given a sea view room on level 3 which was a decent size with a private terrace. The bathroom had a walk in shower and was fully tiled and clean. The bed was a disaster, the mattress was like a hammock sinking in the middle, my wife and I had to sleep right on both ends to stop sinking into the middle. We are both fit and active, but woke up with back ache and stiffness everyday. The swimming pool is a decent size, however we were disgusted at how dirty the pool beds were!! Absolutely disgusting in fact! Like they had never been cleaned for years and years, people spend all day sitting on them, sleeping, sweating, eating, drinking. We refused to use them the whole holiday!! See pictures! The pool areas itself was NEVER cleaned whilst there, not even once, beer bottles, left over food etc were there for days after and never picked up. The tiles around the pool water level were green, meaning the pool never gets cleaned either. Ants were everywhere around the pool too. It’s called LUXURY suites apparently. (Laugh) The pool bar is extremely limited selling local beer, soft drinks and coffee. That’s it! If you are looking for a wine, cocktail or strawberry daiquiri forgot it!!! The person serving was miserable every day and to top it off the pool bar closed at 5pm even though the pool stays open until 8pm!! What a joke!! The only other bar which was three levels up opened at 6pm!!
Basically there is nowhere to get a drink!! The hotel seems unstaffed everywhere apart from the reception and cleaners who came knocking at 9am to clean the rooms. It’s basically like a self catering apartment complex. The bar in the evening was ok but was like a ghost town every night. People just don’t stay in the hotel. The best part of the hotel is the fact there are 5/6 amazing locally run tavernas within 10 minutes walk, all serving great food at reasonable prices and excellent cocktails. Although we walk a lot it really is impossible to get anywhere without a car. We did try for first 3 days visiting NOE beach club, Gerakas Beach and local restaurants but after that we had a car for 6 days. Apparently there is a bus service, however I never saw a bus in 10 days!

Cars or Quads are cheap to hire and easy roads to drive on. I would definitely recommend car hire, unless you want to seat in bed bug infested pool beds.
Breakfast was average at best, again just a complete lack of care and attention, tasteless hot options, boiling hot room with no air conditioning and staff sweating everywhere with sweat stained polo shirts! Nice! The coffee machine is a joke, warm mud and something resembling milk! I ended up bringing Nescafé and cartoon of milk from the shop to breakfast each morning. The hot water was salty like it was pipped from the sea. Undrinkable! Same from the fruit juice which was like drinking a bag of sugar.
The so called fitness centre consisted of one multi gym which looked about 100 years old and was extremely dangerous in fact as pulleys and cables were all dismounted. The tread mill and bike were miniature versions for 5 year old and the weight bar had plates in but no pins. It should be shut down basically, not sure who your operators who most inspect these hotels allow them to use such terms so freely like Fitness Center and Luxury.
It’s a nice remote area but I would never recommend this hotel. 2 star at best. Feel like we have been conned basically. The thing is everything in this hotel could be fixed pretty easily by management who give a damn! It’s a sh*t show basically. TUI, First Choice and other tour operators need to take some responsibility for how they sell and describe this hotel because it’s extremely misleading.

My wife had previously stayed at this hotel with friends and was keen to take me, mainly because of the peace, the rural location & the beach. I was well aware that it was not a 5* hotel & have stayed in Greece before. Our flight contained a very disruptive/aggressive passenger who was sitting very close to us. Police boarded the flight on arrival; we were quite shaken & arrived at the hotel at 9.30pm on Saturday 9th September after several hours of travel. It was raining & a storm was due. We mentioned our scary flight experience during booking in, "well your holiday starts here" was the response & we were handed our room key. I asked where the bar was as a drink was desperately required, to be told that it was closed because of the rain. I asked if I could have one beer to be taken to our room, to be added to our bill, to be told that it could not be provided as the bar was closed. It's a hotel, surely a drink can be obtained at 9.30om in a Saturday night, but apparently not. We accepted this, deciding that a cup of tea in the room would suffice, only to find that the room contained only a kettle & 2 cups. I returned to reception & asked if we could have 2 teabags & milk, to be told that this had to be purchased from the shops by us. It's now 10pm, dark, raining & no shops are closeby. I was too weary to argue but could have wept to be honest. Later the receptionist brought a couple of teabags & a cup of milk to us. Not a great start & it set the tone. We visited the outside bar on 4 evenings after eating out & found George unpredictable to put it mildly. If we went to the bar to be served he told us it was table service. If we sat at a table we eventually had to go to the bar to be served. We gave up trying. We only drank soft drinks around the pool but the staff behind the pool bar never cracked a smile. Breakfast was quite basic & the room was run by an excellent, motivated young male who also worked in the bar at night, although in the evening he was supervised by George. Our room was quite basic but acceptable. The area is beautiful & there are nice places to eat out but the hotel was underwhelming, especially our "welcome".

We had a great holiday here. As others have said it's a very quiet location, we didn't hire a car and so we're limited to the local beaches, tavernas and supermarkets, but that was enough for us.

Gerakas beach is amazing for snorkeling and very pretty. We had a great view of this from our balcony which was amazing.

This is a Greek 4 star hotel, and the facilities, rooms and cleanliness reflected that. Pool was small but generally lots of comfortable sunbeds, pool was reasonably clean although the tiles looked like they could do with a bit more frequent clean, but this was towards end of season.

We were b&b and the breakfast was as others have described, adequate not amazing. The waiting staff were brilliant.

My only complaints were that the kitchenette needed more equipment, I wouldn't expect to be able to cook a large meal, but there wasn't even a knife sharp enough to cut fruit or bread. I did ask reception about it but they said this was normal and I could buy a knife from a shop...

The other negative was the temperature in the breakfast room, the hotel really should invest in air conditioning or at least some fans, and some shade for the outside tables. I felt sorry for the waiters who were drenched in sweat.

Nice hotel in a quiet location, everywhere was a bit of a walk but generally worth it.

Been to this Hotel earlier this year, they must be getting something right. Have read other reviews, we totally agree with some of them. New family members are taking over to upgrade the hotel as it is very tired, like the present owners. The food was generally 2 out of 5 with the old chef. Our 2nd week, chef was replaced due to unfortunate circumstances. EVI their new chef, who was a member of the staff stood in to replace the past chef. WHERE HAS SHE BEEN HIDING - Beautiful Greek cooking, throughly enjoyed it - BIG THANKS EVI. Management, you have your New Chef !!

We stayed in one of the junior suite rooms. The room size was good and it had a large South facing balcony. Only one problem with the room, was the loose shower head that tended to move about when turned on, and as a consequence the bathroom floor was always wet. Pool facilities were showing a bit of wear and tear, and the sunbed covers needed a good clean, but the pool itself was cool and clean. Breakfast offered a decent selection of hot and cold fare and the staff serving were always pleasant. Reception staff were always pleasant and helpful too. Overall, we had a good 10 night stay, and the hotel location is within 5 minutes walk from some nice Tavernas and within 15 minutes walk from some lovely beaches, so we would be happy to return.
