This hotel is an oasis in Jerusalem. Incredibly historic, lush and beautiful.
Staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.
I could not find a gold necklace that was of great sentimental value to me when we were checking out at 4:20am in the morning. I thought it was surely lost. A couple of days later I responded to the management's survey and mentioned this incident (I thought it was somewhere in the room). To my surprise, the team was able to locate it (by the pool), carefully wrapped it, sent it to my address in the U.S., and emailed me with a tracking number. I received the necklace in perfect condition and was so happy! Amazing service!
The hotel has gorgeous grounds steeped in history. The pool area is so beautiful and relaxing and totally a life-saver in Jerusalem's summer. 20 minutes' walk to Damascus gate. Food is excellent, and you should take into account that they do not observe the Jewish tradition of not mixing dairy with meats. For us it was a huge plus. You do hear the prayer calls, sometimes in small hours, but it wasn't an issue for us.
