New Petra Hostel
Jerusalem, 1 David Street 🧭 Map
As it was Me, who back in 1997 suddely found myself in charged of re-storing ThecOldxPetra Hostel. I talked the 2 old Palestinians brother Mr Nabil and Mr Nadir into re-opening / restoring the 'lower parts of what today is part of the Petra Hostel. I did re-wire the whole buildings electricy (as far at I was allowed to spend money on the project, did manage a goup of other backpackers to cleanout...
To be very honest quite rubbish place, dirty and very old. However it is one of the cheapest, located in a heart of the old city and has cool roof top.
It's rather modest and bathrooms are old but location is very good and the view from the roof amazing.

We were not allowed to enter the country because of my arabic roots and we spent the first night at the airport instead of the hostel and had to cancel the whole stay on the next day. The staff was so friendly and gave us a full refund!
I was here with my family and we booked two rooms. It was very nice, everything. The personal was very kind with us, and help us with info. The rooms is beautiful, but not for picky, and the breakfast, which is included, is enough for half a day. The hostel is located on a pietonal street with acces to the tram. I will go back here.
Mattresses are really uncomfortable. The bathroom door in the room didn't close all the way so that was annoying. The rooms weren't so pack which was nice. Great location, nice rooftop, and very good wifi

Reception very friendly and helpful with discussion regarding places to visit. food plentiful and good choices for breakfast, room a bit compact for double bed, but comfortable and convenient. Shower was hot and enjoyable . Dining area was spacious and good for interaction with other visitors. Pool table a bonus enjoyed by some people.
Good place to stay with family and friends. There is a simple kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. We celebrated Shabbat with a group of 13 people (family and friends). That led to nice conversations. If you want to sit together and are also open to meetings, The Post Hostel is a great place.
Helpful staff moved us from a room which opened into the courtyard and was v noisy, to a free upgrade to a gallery room which was much better. Breakfast was good. Rooms great, not the cleanest but we were there at a busy time of year and it is a hostel not a hotel! Staff wonderful.
In terms of value for money is not good - small and uncomfortable room , breakfast is meh, unpleasant smell……………………………………………………… …………………………………… smell……………………………………………………… smell……………………………………………………… smell………………………………………………………

Came back and stayed 2 more nights because the people are great, friendly and the place is safe and lockable pods. WiFi was great too.
The place has excellent location. It used to be nice designed. Now it is dirty, smelly. Out of five showers just two somehow working, but is too much expect soup there. Toilets' are dirty and no paper there. The price included breakfast - it wasn't served and no re-found. I had an expectation that the smoking areas will be isolated for the smokers but smoked were everywhere. Capsula it self was OK...
Great location, the owner is so friendly and nice!
I had a spiritual experience and uplifting of my whole life in Jerusalem. Cinema Hostel made sure to be the support I needed to go through it. I met characters from all over the world there. The facilities are as if you were in a camp out. They’re bare, but reflect the lived experience of the new immigrant to Israel.
Too bad that maybe economy not good, there's some rooms rent to forien labour made so mess.
The location is excellent, but unfortunately, it’s not being cleaned properly and is actually very dirty. Considering the price, I can’t complain much, but the situation is disappointing. I booked this place because breakfast was included, yet there was no breakfast provided. I didn’t have any other major issues; I stayed for 4 nights in a shared room. Currently, it’s mostly occupied by people from...
Looks like it intended to be a very good and comfortable hostel with a lot of peculiar ideas in design and internal atmosphere. And definitely it used to be so. But now it looks quite worn out and requires some renovation. However it's still worth staying.

Mount Zion Hotel derives its name from Mount Zion, which is a historic area near the Old City that features in the Bible. The hotel is a tourist class hotel, where prices are moderate. Hotels in Jerusalem are no longer cheap.
Probably the most beautiful hotel in Jerusalem, the architecture is very unique and interior design is absolutely stunning! The have a nice standard swimming pool which like the rest of the hotel is covered in green vegetation and flowers. Also amazing landscaping. Food was very nice, definitely above average for kosher hotels, and we experienced kind service. All accounted for, I give this place...
This was a good hotel. I visited it on holiday with my family. The rooms were nice and it was very convenient as a family to be given two adjoining rooms. The rooms were also pleasant and clean. The service was fine and the breakfast that we had was delicious with lots of options however, when some options had been finished with still an hour remaining of breakfast wasn't replaced. Our favourite feature...
We were first here 2.5 years ago and it is just as nice as then. Comfortable beds, great bathroom and lots of room. Lobby is really comfortable and the staff is first rate. The best part is the breakfast! So many great choices.
This hotel is ideally located for access to the Old city, with public transport within walking distance. There is a 24 hour supermarket and a leasure complex with many restaurants, pizza, pasta and burger bars and entertainment within 5 minutes walk. The hotel itself is well maintained but dated. I personally loved it here. I had everything I needed. The A/C worked, constant hot water, with a clean...
Very nice. Great room with a great view. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Could do with a bigger dinner menu.

I had the chance to book this extraordinary accommodation last minute. From the beginning I received help in organizing transport and ideas what I could see. The location is spot on in walking distance to many sights. You will get help from Uriel all the time if necessary and in the evening a cinnamon tea with a little conversation about the day makes it all worthwhile. Highly recommendable!
The place is great, and the host is wonderful. Thanks again for your warm welcome and very useful tips about the country!
A place very close to the old city

It's a pretty nice hostel, you can sleep comfortable for a night, but it smells a lot like a swimming pool and the toilets are not really clean.
Great value for the money and perfect location to visit old town or catch bus to border or other places. Cheap food on the street
Its a wonderful experience to find like minded people and share experiences. Decent rooms, heater in hall so need warm clothes. There are people from all over the world. The hummus next door is amazing!
Excellent cheap place to stay right across from the old city's Damascas Gate and short walk to Al-Aqsa Mosque. It's a small place but has a very positive vibe popular with Muslims and Christians having rich discussions on religion in the lobby and places to eat right outside. I stayed here while backpacking and it was exactly what I needed, nothing more nothing less... Economical place to sleep and...
