For the ones who want a full review, it’s a bit long but read so that you’re fully aware what to expect upon arrival.
1. Hotel and resort are quite nice. Relatively old (or it seems so), however the garden and the pool with interesting shape gives a lovely ambiance around the outside area. The pool has a very nice island in the middle and also allows for all people to enjoy it as it has a shallow part (beach like) gradually going into the deeper parts. It’s big and it allows for many people to go in without the sensation of being squeezed.
2. The rooms, despite the fact they are being cleaned on a daily basis still have dust on the surfaces without being proper maintained.
- No drying rack in any of the rooms
- No iron, not available at reception, only option is to pay for your clothes, €10 per clothing.
- Cards to open the doors stop working on a regular basis. Need to update their software system to resolve this issue.
- Beach Towels are not provided at the resort nor in the rooms. You need to provide €20 deposit per towel and at the end pay €3 per towel.
2. Sports facilities
- The gym is outdated, not enough weights. Dirty floor, doesn’t seem to be cleaned on a regular basis. There are no gym towels available there, nor at reception.
- Tennis court: In the morning it’s shady and they provide rackets and ball at reception, however, again, the court seems not very well maintained and needs refreshing. The flooring is cement.
- There is also a mini golf which we didn’t try, hence, no feedback but seems to be aging as well.
3. Taken this into account, the most important of all are the services and entertainment. Here are our thoughts and suggestions:
- Food - we were with breakfast and dinner included. Breakfasts are quite repetitive and lack fruits. I’m sure during that during summer time there are plenty of seasonal fruits to be offered. Instead it’s quite pastry heavy. Dinners, despite the fact they are limited, are nice. They serve some of the Sicilian cuisine so it is nice. Fruits are served at dinner for dessert and it would be great to have it for breakfast as well for future guests.
- Staff at the restaurant - There are way too many personnel at the restaurant which is definitely not needed. There is a loud clacking and clashing noise when taking away the plates at all times whilst eating. They were regular situations where they were breaking them making loud noises. Perhaps, these can be moved away from the people so they create a nicer environment to eat and spend quality time with our families. It is also unacceptable the fact that whole eating waiters are coming asking for dates and phone numbers which happened and it is most certainly NOT PLEASANT. There were a few other waiters who very extremely thoughtful, caring and doing their job superbly.
- Day entertainment - upon arrival there is a board mentioning many different activities during the day starting from 10am up until 6pm. However, in the morning I was not made aware when and with who these are being performed. We went around speaking to many people around the hotel and NO ONE provided us with any details about anything. Lack of English was also quite frankly shocking. They were talking only in Italian when the resort is for many different nationalities. Unless, the message is that they only want Italian guests, then they need to step up their game on the language ladder.
- Night entertainment - every night was pretty much the same. Music again was blasting loud for no reason which was making people leave the two places - the piano bar and the area around the bar pool. We are not deaf and blasting music does not create an environment where you want to spend long time.
- The animators are way too few, need more practice, more enthusiasm and personal skills to be successful. The dancing is very monotonous and repetitive.
As a summary, an advice to the management and the owner, review your business weaknesses and strengths as the bare minimum and do some amendments as the money that we pay as customers are not little.

This hotel is good, but it could be great.
The location is a little remote - not in itself an issue as we had a car, but everyone thinks the same so the car park is often full.
The gardens / grounds are beautiful. The beach is not so great but that's the story for a lot of beaches this side of Sicily.
There are things that let this place down a lot, all the sadder that in my opinion they are easily fixable:
1. There is a cheesy singer / band that plays every evening. I'm sure it's popular with some, particularly after a few drinks but to enforce it on the whole hotel when it can't be avoided lasts till after 11pm seems inconsiderate of a 4-star hotel.
2. The drinks are exorbitantly expensive. This is a pity as the seating area for the bar is lovely.
3. Beach bar serves cocktails and all drinks in plastic. And still expensive. If it's a safety issue, better non-glassware can be used that doesn't make the hotel feel like a cheap Torremolinos 3-star.
4. There is only one working lift. And it's small. We used the stairs 95% of the time, but when you have luggage, and everyone else is using it, it's a pain.

Very nice hotel with a big pool and private pebble beach. Big buffet for all meals if you go for the full board. A little dated, but clean, well kept and excellent service. Entertainment in the evening. Description says well equipped gym, but I would argue that is pretty standard for hotels. Lots of activities included, beach/pool towels are €3 per piece, and the hotel safe is $2 per day. This may come across as a bit cheap for a 4-star hotel, but I guess they have their reasons.

I stayed at Acacia Resort with my family for 2 weeks. The hotel is modern, surrounded by palm trees and flowers. It has a nice big pool with a section for little kids and a deep end on the other side. We never had problems finding free sun beds. There is also a rooftop swimming pool with a jacuzzi and spa, but the use of the pool costs 18 euros. The hotel has a private beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, but access to the water is difficult because there are a lot of stones in the water and on the beach. The hotel has one main restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner. The food was very good, lots of choices, but drinks are not included in the dinner. The bottle of water cost 3euro, there is also no free water in the rooms which is inconvenient as the nearest town is around 5km away. Our room was located in the garden, we had our own terrace, lots of privacy, the room was spacious, clean with comfortable beds. The bad thing is the location of the hotel. It's in the middle of nowhere. There are no shops in the area, nowhere to go for an evening walk. Without a car it's difficult. The hotel offers buses and taxis to Palermo and Cefalu for around 10 euros round trip. The service in the restaurant and throughout the entire resort was very nice, the staff was helpful and very friendly, especially the animator Giuseppe. We have many good memories from Sicily and I can recommend Acacia Resort

Wonderful hotel, it really has that old fashioned Italian charm. We had such a relaxing stay, food delicious and plentiful , hotel and bedroom spotlessly clean, super friendly staff and AMAZING animation team. Would highly recommend.

Sup-rooms are okay but nothing to dream about. Ours' had stains on the ceiling. During the wet season I would not want to stay in that room! We had half-board - breakfast, okay, but fresh fruit truly absence (do not know why as for dinners there was always fresh fruit!) Dinners much better with a good choice and fresh fruits and every second night some nice, tasty seafood (salad). Some personnel is really friendly and helpful.... pool is nice and refreshing...beach stony, offering good walks in either directions but don't expect a Waikiki experience...

Great view, and location, marred by the service. We booked a stay here based on the reviews and pictures. The location is indeed gorgeous, and the rooms are old but good. However, there were several things that made the experience average for us:
1. Very secluded: If you don’t have a car, you’re pretty much stranded here.
2. Service: The attitude of most (but not all) staff is not in line with a luxury resort. Lack of basic amenities like kettle and mini bar in rooms, water and ROOM SERVICE was shocking for the price of the place. The attitude of the staff made this even worse as they don’t really seem to care about your experience. We were literally asked to pay €8 for the privilege of ordering food at the restaurant and taking it to our room.
3. Food is average, lacks variety but is well made. There are just very very limited choices for everything.
Overall its in a very beautiful location, but the staff’s unwelcoming attitude sours the experience.

Lots of facilities at this hotel but the main building is so spread out that we had to walk about 150 yards from our bedroom to reception ,we were the last bedroom on one of the wings .
The room was lovely apart from the jammed wardrobe door ,the Glass ledge hanging down ( both were fixed immediately when we complained ) A glass panel on the other side of the window was cracked badly . The most annoying bit was no kettle in the rooms .
The food in the restaurant was reasonable but the same every night . We approached the head waiter and asked for coffee after the meal and was told we would have to go to the bar for tea or coffee .. The payment at the bar or cafe could only be done by a hotel card which we were given . No cash could be used . The result was half the time the receipts did not show the amount charged and you had to wait to query the bill when you checked out.
The Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and consequently the Hotel rips you off on prices , I have travelled the world and never been charged 10 euros for a beer.
I made use of the massage facility at the spa and found the ladies there superb masseuses
WiFi is non existent unless you are near reception and not good quality ,which is a must in this day and age
The swimming pool is superb but not open until 8.30 and closes at 5.00 . There is also a stony beach area which is equipped with deck chairs .
Would I use this hotel again ........ No

A very outdated hotel. Gardens are nice, but dirty skylight windows on entry. Poor service and attitude by some. Poor food options. Machine made Coffee only is disgusting. Trying to hit you with an extra cost at every opportunity. To get you to leave the pool area at around 5pm, they blast ear shattering high volume rap music. The location is terrible as well. Rooms are nice. Room Cleaning staff do a great job.

We travelled here in the middle of May on an all inclusive package with jet2 holidays so some of this review may be Jet2’s fault more than the hotels… the hotel is a good two hours journey away from the airport on some incredibly bumpy roads and Jet2’s ‘express transfers’ really means a bus rammed full of people with no toilet so make sure you go in the airport! On arrival at the hotel we were dropped off at the bottom of the driveway and left to take our own luggage down the driveway to reception (not the hotels fault), on check in there’s no explanation of where anything is, no hotel maps etc, just ‘here’s your room card my colleague will take you to your room’ the room was clean, for a ‘superior double’ I wouldn’t expect two single mattresses pushed together though, only one socket in the whole room though and no mirror on the dressing table so we ended up unplugging the mini fridge and moving that so that the other half could do her hair and make up in front of a mirror. The ‘mini bar’ has a menu on top of it with prices but it’s empty so that was pointless. The bar staff and waiters are all incredibly friendly and they do their best to speak English as well. We went all inclusive and it really does feel like they try to make extra money anyway they can, not many cocktails on the all inclusive menu and €3 for a bottle of water even if you’re all inclusive. The food at the restaurant was always cooked well and plenty to choose from however be ready to fight for a table with bus trips which seem to turn up out of nowhere… lunch isn’t a buffet it’s a menu and it wasn’t a great choice but breakfast and dinner were both good. The pool was nice and clean, the ‘private beach’ really isn’t up to much and is very Stoney so don’t be expecting to walk along it bare foot. Check your tab at the end as well, ours was over by just shy of €40 which probably was just human error, oh and don’t travel in May, wait until June, the weather was rubbish (again not the hotels fault) and the pool bar is closed until June as well.
