Reviews
Water by the pool was €3. Not impressed as very hot and had paid all inclusive. They would give you warm water in a small cup if required. You are only allowed one drink at a time per person. So if thirsty, not good. Bar food, you have to pay for. SO DEFINITELY NOT ALL INCLUSIVE. Evening drinks; if you are all inclusive, you have to go to the bar to be served but if you are half board, the waiters will come and take your order where you are sitting.
Such a shame. It has put us off going again.
The hotel was lovely, open to the outside in most of the common areas. So many plants around the hotel which really gave it the holiday feel.
The food was also very good. Breakfast didn't vary too much, other than the local specialities (cakes). The evening meal however did vary and had live cooking of pizzas, pasta and various meats and fish. The desserts were also good with fruit and local cakes. Ice cream was also available to scoop, which we took down to the beach each evening!
The room was great, 3rd floor, having a garden view and was quiet. Music was heard in the evenings, but didn't bother us and it didn't go on too late. We also rarely heard people heading back to their rooms (which we worried about being close to the lifts). Air-con in the room was great!
The beach and pool were lovely. The pool had shallow and deep areas.
Beach was quite stoney.
Evening entertainment varied and occurred in two locations each evening.
Some additional costs to be mindful of...
Room safe €2 per day
Beach towel €3 per towel (if washed, another €3) - we brought our own
Water at evening meal was not complementary which was a shame and strange as they had free water at breakfast.
Drinks were a reasonable price for a resort. Cocktails ranged from €12 - €15. Coke €4.
2 Aldi sized supermarkets were a 5 minute drive up the road.
Gym was lacking and not great.
Overall the hotel was wonderful and well kept and all the staff were really friendly and attentive. English was well spoken amongst the team.
Cleanliness is kept at a high level, both in the rooms and throughout the property. The staff don’t feel like ordinary employees — they are warm and hospitable people who create a home-like, family atmosphere — kind, attentive, and unobtrusive. Special thanks to Marco and Massimo for their care and warm attitude — they truly made my stay unforgettable. The service is excellent.
The food deserves special praise: an amazing variety of seafood, fish, local dishes, desserts, and fruits — all beyond excellent. The kitchen and bar operate flawlessly — everything is always fresh, tasty, and prepared with attention to detail. It was so delicious that I often went back for seconds, even when I was already full!
The hotel’s infrastructure and design are very convenient, elegant, and comfortable. There are fitness machines and a children’s playground on the premises, which is great for active guests and families with kids. The spa on the 4th floor is a particular delight — a perfect place to relax, get a massage, or enjoy the jacuzzi with a wonderful view.
Every evening, live music fills the hotel lobby — piano, saxophone, and singing — which, combined with the beautiful nature around, creates a special and peaceful atmosphere.
The hotel is also very conveniently located, with regular transport to Palermo and Cefalù, allowing guests to easily immerse themselves in Sicilian culture and atmosphere.
I didn’t notice any drawbacks or issues — such harmony and tranquility leave no room for negativity.
I highly recommend this hotel not only for a peaceful and relaxing stay but also for discovering the true Sicily.
The swimming pool and children play area are a godsend for parents who want to relax while the kids are entertained.
The staff and owners are very friendly and care about the client experience. We highly recommend this resort
The music in the evening was quite loud and hearable in our room Till late night.
The breakfast was alright, could be improved. The dinner buffet was good and varied.
1. Hotel and resort are quite nice. Relatively old (or it seems so), however the garden and the pool with interesting shape gives a lovely ambiance around the outside area. The pool has a very nice island in the middle and also allows for all people to enjoy it as it has a shallow part (beach like) gradually going into the deeper parts. It’s big and it allows for many people to go in without the sensation of being squeezed.
2. The rooms, despite the fact they are being cleaned on a daily basis still have dust on the surfaces without being proper maintained.
- No drying rack in any of the rooms
- No iron, not available at reception, only option is to pay for your clothes, €10 per clothing.
- Cards to open the doors stop working on a regular basis. Need to update their software system to resolve this issue.
- Beach Towels are not provided at the resort nor in the rooms. You need to provide €20 deposit per towel and at the end pay €3 per towel.
2. Sports facilities
- The gym is outdated, not enough weights. Dirty floor, doesn’t seem to be cleaned on a regular basis. There are no gym towels available there, nor at reception.
- Tennis court: In the morning it’s shady and they provide rackets and ball at reception, however, again, the court seems not very well maintained and needs refreshing. The flooring is cement.
- There is also a mini golf which we didn’t try, hence, no feedback but seems to be aging as well.
3. Taken this into account, the most important of all are the services and entertainment. Here are our thoughts and suggestions:
- Food - we were with breakfast and dinner included. Breakfasts are quite repetitive and lack fruits. I’m sure during that during summer time there are plenty of seasonal fruits to be offered. Instead it’s quite pastry heavy. Dinners, despite the fact they are limited, are nice. They serve some of the Sicilian cuisine so it is nice. Fruits are served at dinner for dessert and it would be great to have it for breakfast as well for future guests.
- Staff at the restaurant - There are way too many personnel at the restaurant which is definitely not needed. There is a loud clacking and clashing noise when taking away the plates at all times whilst eating. They were regular situations where they were breaking them making loud noises. Perhaps, these can be moved away from the people so they create a nicer environment to eat and spend quality time with our families. It is also unacceptable the fact that whole eating waiters are coming asking for dates and phone numbers which happened and it is most certainly NOT PLEASANT. There were a few other waiters who very extremely thoughtful, caring and doing their job superbly.
- Day entertainment - upon arrival there is a board mentioning many different activities during the day starting from 10am up until 6pm. However, in the morning I was not made aware when and with who these are being performed. We went around speaking to many people around the hotel and NO ONE provided us with any details about anything. Lack of English was also quite frankly shocking. They were talking only in Italian when the resort is for many different nationalities. Unless, the message is that they only want Italian guests, then they need to step up their game on the language ladder.
- Night entertainment - every night was pretty much the same. Music again was blasting loud for no reason which was making people leave the two places - the piano bar and the area around the bar pool. We are not deaf and blasting music does not create an environment where you want to spend long time.
- The animators are way too few, need more practice, more enthusiasm and personal skills to be successful. The dancing is very monotonous and repetitive.
As a summary, an advice to the management and the owner, review your business weaknesses and strengths as the bare minimum and do some amendments as the money that we pay as customers are not little.
The location is a little remote - not in itself an issue as we had a car, but everyone thinks the same so the car park is often full.
The gardens / grounds are beautiful. The beach is not so great but that's the story for a lot of beaches this side of Sicily.
There are things that let this place down a lot, all the sadder that in my opinion they are easily fixable:
1. There is a cheesy singer / band that plays every evening. I'm sure it's popular with some, particularly after a few drinks but to enforce it on the whole hotel when it can't be avoided lasts till after 11pm seems inconsiderate of a 4-star hotel.
2. The drinks are exorbitantly expensive. This is a pity as the seating area for the bar is lovely.
3. Beach bar serves cocktails and all drinks in plastic. And still expensive. If it's a safety issue, better non-glassware can be used that doesn't make the hotel feel like a cheap Torremolinos 3-star.
4. There is only one working lift. And it's small. We used the stairs 95% of the time, but when you have luggage, and everyone else is using it, it's a pain.
