Beautiful establishment all on the ground floor, quiet and very well equipped. Large room and very clean bathroom. The only downside is the noisy VMC in the bathroom. Charming and attentive staff. Correct and good restaurant, impeccable service.

Practical for a step. Next to a large commercial area, modeled on motels in the USA, you can park in front of the room. The price of 70€ is competitive but our room was rather gloomy and dated even though everything was in good condition.

Excellent for couples but more than a hotel it is a typical motel to spend a few pleasant hours with your partner in complete privacy. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Located near the motorway exit but far from the lake.

Wellness weekend. Beautiful and comfortable structure. The rooms are clean and have all kinds of amenities, which serves the large and comfortable hydromassage tub. The rooms are a little bit dated but for the price, you can't go wrong. We had a lovely lake-view room and enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel. Close to shops and other places but it would be best to come with a car since you are not walking distance from the center where you can take the boat cruises etc. Would come back for a longer stay in the future.

It is quiet an old hotel, but it's clean. My room was next to a main road with a rubber road bump. Cars drove with speed over the bump which causes two loud bangs every time and that most of the night.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Spagna. First of all the location of the hotel is perfect, you only need 2 minutes to be in the city and at the sea promenade. The location is very beautiful, with its own terrace overlooking the lake. The menu is a bit confusing. There were many plants around, and many bugs crawled in through the windows. Later, I went to the front desk and was asked to change rooms. People in the rooms next to me were talking and laughing loudly in the middle of the night, without caring about the feelings of the surrounding tenants. The fragrance in the room was a bit pungent, and the accommodation experience was a bit poor.

We had a really nice stay and highly recommend this hotel! The receptionists are super friendly. The hotel rooms are very clean and tidy, with perfect view on the lake. We also really liked the breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast had a great variety, every day different cakes (freshly made) were served. Very nice accomodation. 2 km from Stresa, however you cannot reach it by foot. There is a bus going to Stresa each hour and coming back, so is easy to reach the town. It's a great hotel!! However, if you do not drive it is quite a walk into Stressa. So a taxi is needed it costs roughly 15€. You do get the most amazing views. Breakfast is very simple but you have a wide variety of continental options. No hot breakfast options.

The bad thing was communication, after 5 calls we finally got the personal at the front desk, and talked really fast to allow us letting the keys in the apartment for the check out. The villa is truly a stunning property with historical design. The location of the villa is near to the lake and the property boats sprawling gardens where you can spend the afternoons with a Spritz or glass of wine. The attitude of the hotel owners was almost unbelievably good! They we trying hard to advice you where to go, what to see, what tours to buy etc. And their advices were not for profit, they never asked you to mention their names or something - they simply wanted you to enjoy their area.

The receptionist upon our arrival was very welcoming, as was the waitress at lunch and breakfast. The staff were very friendly. Beautiful dining room. Hearty meal. The same goes for breakfast. The only downside was the privacy of the guests in the rooms. The walls must not be thick. We could hear the shutters opening and closing in the neighboring rooms.

We stayed in the apartment next to the hotel. Spacious and modern rooms, in the bathroom and living room a knob was missing from the furniture. Bathroom with very spacious shower and washing machine. Kitchen with dishwasher and kettle. Breakfast: croissants are given per person directly from the kitchen and are really small. Variety of cakes (the chocolate one is sublime), jams and creams with bread...

Alessandra was so incredibly helpful and kind. Went out of her way to help us. 10/10 service from her that we will not forget!

Stresa and Lake Maggiore are not to be missed. The Moderno makes a good base. I suggest you ask about the rooms before selecting, as the hotel encompasses several buildings and the rooms vary. The Hotel is a good value for the price, but it is ageing and somewhat dated. We like firm mattresses and our room had the firmest mattress ever!

At centre location, a block from ferry terminal to islands. Many restaurants within a few blocks. Perfect for a short stay. Coffee is good. Bed is firm, excellent hot shower, water pressure good. Hotel has elevator.

The rooms were nice and clean, staff friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a good location, but I was expecting an Italian hotel to serve Italian food, which for the most part they have not.
