Reviews
Breakfast was included and a pleasant experience. It is table service, with options to order a limited number of cooked items, the omelette was a favourite. Freshly made coffee and a selection of juices.
The hotel restaurant, where breakfast was served, was almost completely full each evening of our stay. And for good reason, the food is very good.
Probably the standout feature was the staff. Very professional and hard-working. No fake "have-a-nice-day" nonsense. They just got on and did stuff. Our room was cleaned each morning and was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Duomo.
View (and sound) of the restaurant roof where the chair legs are without the cushioned pads, at all times of day you hear glass bottles being emptied and for percussion - lift noises on one side accompanied by relaxing sound of Flushing above. Then the lead singer, a loud waitress bellowing whilst clearing after the nights service without consideration to hotel guests in ear shot.
This is a restaurant within a hotel so noise reduction should be inplace.
During Breakfast I received a comment of 'You want another coffee, so three in total?'
Yes. A) I didn't sleep and B) unnecessary covert comment.
Two days ruined one being disappointed and feeling stuck (I even looked to see if other hotels were available) and one sleep deprived so much so that I wasted a day at my next destination.
As a lone traveller you really need to be focused and switched on, plus tackling the heat whilst lugging heavy baggage is struggle enough in a well rested state.
I suggest staff to try sleeping in this room (14) before allocating guests, or significantly drop the rate for the room and supply ear plugs.
Simple gesture of the actual famous Nougat would be nice, very little cost that would go a long way. Something local like this on the I room welcome tray or handed to you with your key is a nice 'touch' and inkeeping with a hotel of this (supposed) calibre.
Positives: proper checkout time (1100)
kettle in room with real mugs, good towels, in-shower shelving and slippers supplied (much needed for the bedroom tiles which make you feel you're in a changing room).
Supplies of jams, Nutella, croissants (I didn't try) , I saw cakes at the bar (but wasn't offered any) good variety of barista milks which the young boy makes well. Fruit was a bit hard.
Hallways and breakfast room are of a nicer higher standard than the servants room I appeared to have received. I propose this room to be storage or a place for a complimentary hot drink dispenser.
I completely regret staying here £75 far to much and Disproportionate for what I experienced, certainly marred my time and view of Cremona.
My pitty to room 14s next contestant...
