Hotel Sabbie d'Oro

In the first week of October we stayed at this lovely hotel. We had a twin room with a sea view. Clean and tidy with an ensuite shower. TV and small fridge with drinks. Breakfast was in my opinion great. I had scrambled eggs and local sausage, yoghurt and fruit and a little treat of sweet bakes every day with coffee and fruit juice. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay. Its on the beach front which has a ***** of many restaurants to choose from. There is a lovely marina and a small historical park moments away. You do have to pay for sunbeds. But the restaurant on the beach provides food which is good and generous in proportion. The staff do not smile that much- grumpy lol. There are strips of beach where you can bathe without charge. Very local to the tourist mecca of Taormina, and Isola Bella. The bus services are interesting. You need to book a place on every bus you take, trust me, always book a return. Even out of season we were stuck with 2 hour wait to get home as we had not booked !! Easy access to Catania, again book your bus. Etna Travel bus station in town is seperate to the local bus station make a note of this!! Visits to the volcano Etna are readily avaiable and I personally had a great time, I was thrilled to be on the mountain. We walked along the front to Isola Bella, it is mostly road walking but the views are amazing. If I had brought my walking boots I might have walked down hill rather than suffering the bus services back from Taormina its really not far if your a walker. Taxi services are expensive. Prices in the local restaurants are reasonable. Catania bus services are confusing and not well signposted if you want to try and venture elsewhere on your own. But the historical centre is lovely. I would not visit the area in high season. Whilst Giardini Naxo was fine the hotspot of Taormina and around would be a nightmare with a full summer crowd.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights in June 2025. The location is perfect, just across the beach and few minutes away from the bus stop. The beach was nice, water was wonderful. Umbrellas and sunbeds had extra charge. The staff was very nice, always friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was perfect, with delicious food and just enough for every taste. Our room was a little small, but spotless clean and with a fresh smell (no mold), housekeeping came every day, cleaned and supplied with towels and toiletries. The balcony was very nice overlooking the beach. A little noisy at night as there are some clubs nearby, but it's part of the charm. Great vacation overall, we plan to return to Sabbie d'Oro. We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel, and it was the perfect location to spend a few days in Naxos. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent welcome despite late arrival but the boss went out of his way to put a child's bed in a room and at no extra charge. Then admitted us into his restaurant where we were served a nice full meal. I recommend this quiet, well located hotel.

Real family hotel. Clean rooms and delicious breakfast of selected and quality ingredients. Very cordialy and friendly staff.

Very nice hotel, very nice staf, very good conditions and a good breakfast. Is located rght on the beach of Giardini Naxos.
