This is a funny place because it is a bit in the middle of nowhere. Giarre is not a fancy place and the hotel is on the edge of Giarre. However...the views of Etna and surroundings from the room were wonderful and the service was informal and welcoming (as well as efficient). Parking is on-site and free. Rooms were fine. A new, modern hotel with beautiful design and comfortable rooms. Minor drawbacks include a small shower stall (even though the bathroom is large) and less-than-comfortable pillows. However, the service is excellent and everyone is willing to help with any questions. On clear days, the rooms overlooking Mount Etna and the pool area offer stunning views. Breakfasts are delicious and hearty.

We had a very pleasant stay. It's quite remote, so a car is essential. The rooms are very clean, but a bit noisy from other guests. Despite staying five nights, we unfortunately couldn't use the restaurant; every evening there was a different reason why we couldn't dine. The breakfast is very tasty. There's a lovely swimming pool.

Bar staff attempted to double bill so ensure if paying cash to ask for receipts...

This hotel is in the most stunning location over looking Etna It is the ultimate in relaxation. The staff were fabulous and always ready to help. What a gem, had a weeks wonderful stay. Excellent room clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Very present pool area very clean with a small bar for drinks and snacks. Really good restaurant with excellent menus.

Amazing service. Nothing was too hard. All requests were accommodated with a smile. From the great food in the restaurant, which accommodated for a fixed menu as well as a la carte. Reception staff were attentive and household staff were all friendly. The hotel was very clean and rooms spacious. An amazing, relaxing and memorable stay.

The setting of the hotel was spectacular and the service from the hotel staff was very good particularly given the circumstances where about 60 Australians who couldn’t speak much Italian were staying there. This is the place where to stay when in Sicily! Very well-managed hotel with great staff that takes pride in what they do. The grounds are looked after and kept well. Great local food from the kitchen too.

A visually beautiful hotel - the staff are incredible and offered some of the best service I've ever received. this resort/estate is really big, little bit outside from the town, near the ocean. in the middle of a really big lemon plantation. its calm, relaxed and very quiet. the owner (and i think his mom and dad) were extremely friendly and cute. the rooms are clean and you also have a kitchen and a sofa to chill. also the rooms re very big. from some of them you can see the etna in front, very cool....

Great view. You can see Mount Etna from your balcony if you are on the back side or if you are looking around the right side of the front of the building. Watch out for traffic when you are walking across the road to the beach though, because they go fast on that road. The dinner was bad and my whole group agreed.

I used to go 2 X per year, for about 11 years. Always stayed there, got to know the 2 brothers that owned it, NICE PEOPLE. I had my 60th birthday party there, about 110 people (I was born in the next town over, Giarre.,) Am 78 and left there when I was nine. Anyway, I don't know who these people are that wrote all the lies about the hotel.I was always treated like family and I treated them the same...

Eat pasta EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. It’s very plain food and in the bedroom , right after the cleaner has been in there was ants EVERYWHERE. Every time the cleaners came in, they ate our food from the fridge and would go in our suitcases..

It is a small village with nothing to see but the sea. The apartment house is a 10-minute walk from the sea. Pebble beach, long, very clean water.The appartment house is not very modern, but very clean. Large rooms with large balcony. Breakfast okay, half board okay. It is a family business, so there are few staff and very slow. Almost no one speaks English. Nobody speaks foreign languages at the reception...

50 minutes and 80 euro ride on a taxi from Catania airport. Free parking. No cleaning, no soap in the shower, no towel change. Kitchen equiped only with the basic stuff. 5 minutes walk to the beach amd to the closest small market. 10 minutes on a car to Lidle. Mascali its a very small town with almost no night life.

We had a great time, the owners are kind, they took great care of us throughout our stay. Unparalleled hospitality, a family atmosphere. The kind and courteous staff, always ready to satisfy every need. Clean room, wifi network available. Animals in the structure well kept. Swimming pool also suitable for those with small children, abundant and good breakfast. A quiet and relaxing place, my daughter had a great time and I would never tire of staying here. This hotel is in a very peaceful location surrounded by citrus trees. Having access to a vehicle is a must. Breakfast was ok Gentleman who checked us in on our first night was very friendly and funny. Marco the lifeguard was very friendly, helpful and guided us when we were looking for a sandy beach. A great Hotel in my opinion. We were here for a total of four nights and really enjoyed our time! The location is really good, close to major sights like the Etna or Taormina, but it’s also close to the see, the highway as well as other towns around in case you would wanna go to a supermarket. There is also a really nice restaurant that offers a small, but high quality menu for very reasonable prices...

They have a lovely swimming pool and relaxing area. It is located in a quiet farm with lemon and citrus trees. You also have als view from certain rooms to the Etna Volcano. Helicopter flights available.

The place is nice and the prices is good. The staff was very nice and the food was good. I would stay here again. The rooms were very basic, but were clean and have everything you need. The property is nice to walk and the farm employees were very welcoming.

Very nice apartment, excellent hospitality. For the apartment just bring your toothbrush because you will find everything from sheets to towels. You will find the bare minimum to make you a pasta without having to do the shopping as soon as you arrive. The sea is beautiful and in the summer period until the end of October there is a private solarium with a ladder that gives the possibility to swim...

Location near the Etna, rooms are gracefully located if you happen to have a balcony with a view. Service is questionable, pay close attention to the prices.

This hotel is pretty good. It's located 15 minutes away from the town center, yet it's in a pretty relaxing atmosphere. Rooms are pretty big, furniture is old but not untidy or unclean. Service and breakfast are OK. I recommend it if you have a car or simply love to walk or discover new places.

The excursions and activities were great. Making pasta, wine tasting and cocktail making was fantastic. Much more informative than others ee have done. Trip to Etna was very good and again very informative. Breakfast was amazingly good with plenty of fresh produce...more than anywhere else we stayed. Overall the place is very rustic...using natural elements to make stairs, pathways, etc.

Coming for a small break with a relative, we arrived to a wonderful scenery which the beautiful main property is located in. Driving through the gates into the vineyard, which the acres of beautiful varietty of grapes and fruit trees surrounding you, you cannot fault your first welcome. Restaurant food was not great and pricey, however their breakfast was amazing and made up for it (farm harvest and homemade items, self press detox juices and their extensive tea selection!).

Emmaus Hotel is a good stop if you plan to visit Etna. The rooms are clean and cosy. Beds firm and confortable, just how I like 🙂 And there is even z complementary bottle of cold water waiting in the fridge. Just what you will need after a sunny day. Staff is always ready to help and doing their best to let you enjoy your stay. And the views... You have to see them yourself.

Hotel Emmaus is a great place to stay as part of a round trip. Generally it's quite clean and the food is tasty. Hotel staff are smiling and helpful. There is no any attractions like playground or swimming pool. Only bed, bath and restaurant, no more.

Etna's hilltop hotel counterpart, this hideaway has comfort, great service, good prices, wonderful walking trails, and the meeting and worship spaces to make any conference or gathering a success. Great views are also included; five minute car ride to center of town.

We chose the Castello di San Marco because we wanted a special place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. What a splendid oasis of tranquillity and calm it is. We stayed here with our small children and had a fantastic experience. The place was spotless, well-maintained, and the service was outstanding. Stayed just one night in this lovely boutique hotel as part of an Etna Wine tour evaluation. To encompass the full experience and features needed more time but the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the grounds lovely and the swimming pool is close to the private beach. The food in the restaurant was Michelin star standard with excellent service and we were made very welcome by the management team...

Excellent structure, located a little outside Acireale. Comfortable rooms with beds equipped with new mattresses. Beauty kit in the bathroom. Beautiful swimming pool and very well-kept garden. The cuisine is excellent with a varied breakfast with sweet and savory things. I'll be back.

This was part of a package holiday, so it is probably not appropriate to comment on the quality of the food. However, the rooms were very clean, although the pillows and matrasses were quite hard. The biggest complaint was the very poor WiFi. In the reception/restaurant it was adequate but in the bedrooms, it was terrible. When complaining to the duty manager, we were given a disingenuous answer.

As unfortunately happens in my beloved southern Italy, the place is fantastic but....it wouldn't take much. Rooms furnished in the 70s, poor bathroom amenities, breakfast and dinner without fresh local products (which would cost even less). Sin

The structure is clean and is in a strategic point to easily reach different cities to visit in the surrounding area! Reception and restaurant staff always polite and friendly and ready to satisfy every request with a smile! The pool is always clean and welcoming for guests to enjoy a bit of relaxation. Nice hotel, good food, room and bed comfortable. Nice swimming pool, with bar adjacent. Excellent view up to Mount Etna from the poolside. Staff pleasant and helpful. Hotel situated on outskirts of town, but this can easily be reached by local bus which stops outside hotel and has a regular service, or a taxi can be ordered.

We enjoyed our stay in Villagio Alkantara. We stayed in the room number 143. The rooms are pretty basic but very well kept clean and cosy with great air conditioner. We read a lot re this accommodation before we left, some were not so good , I don't see what anyone has to complain about though , it's what you pay for and believe me this wee place was really good. Clean and tidy , pool excellent , staff fabulous, breakfast continental, cheese ham, fruit tea, coffee, juices , fill your boots it was lovely . Down side, it is out of the way and transport unreliable...

Just spent a week here. Accomodation was basic but spotlessly clean. Lovely pool area, with lots of young people having a great time. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Staff were great. Couple of issues we had were swiftly dealt with by the very helpful reception staff, don't understand some of the negative reviews on here.

The staff at Villaggio Alkantara could not have been better. Everyone was so helpful. Antonella and Linda in the bar were so friendly and Irene and the rest of the cleaning team couldn't do enough for us. Luca at reception also deserves a shout out for being great. We were a group of 10 people and were made to feel so at home and so looked after for our entire stay.

The rooms were fairly basic, but extremely clean and functional with good airconditioning. The place has a pretty big swimming pool and animation/activities for families. The people were very nice and the food was good for the price class being one of the cheaper places in the area with a swimming pool. Some points for improvements would be: The front garden could have used some shadow or a parasol...

We had an overall pleasant experience at this hotel, the location is superb, and the views from the balconies are gorgeous and memorable. The staff were consistently helpful and so kind to us which made our stay very memorable. However, our stay wasn't perfect, the blankets on the beds were quite uncomfortable, and in our room, the TV had no remote, and when we had one, it didn't work. Overall however...

I took a group of 46 school kids here and I can't speak highly enough of the hotel the staff are very friendly the rooms are very good the location is perfect if you want some summer sun it is a 30 second walk to the beach the food has been incredible very very good pasta dishes breakfast has been very good as well all of the kids are incredibly happy with this I would highly recommend the Stay worth...

Overall, the restaurant was quite good. Beautiful place, with beach views and access to the beach. Delicious food, but I went with a group and asked for a room of four, but we got a room of two with two extra beds. Excellent service and food, but I suggest booking rooms of max two.

Standard 3* hotel. Room was clean with standard equipment and air conditioning. Breakfasts were dull, each day the same offering. Beach is very close to the hotel.

An excellent location with nearby swimming beaches and restaurants. Small and comfortable hotel in a thriving resort, clean, good breakfast and friendly staff. Wifi excellent. Good access to local buses for trips to Catania,Taormina and for airport transfers (booked in advance online, 'Etna' transport). We used it as a hiking base with a private group minibus facilitated.

Clean, comfortable. Room with balcony and views but air conditing exhaust noise from adjacent hotel driving us crazy - no action, must be a known issue with this room but reception hides behind lack oof english language and ignoring tour guide. Sad business, otherwise impressed.

I had really good experience in the hotel. I'm impressed the most with all the people working there. And I think this hotel is so great thanks to them. The rooms could do with some refurbishment but obviously it's not a 5 star hotel and it was great value for the money.
