Reviews
Also improvements needed to the pool, the music was too loud and dreary, I asked for it to turned down, but the server in the bar couldn’t understand, used google translate and she eventually turned it off completely which was a win.
The state of the pool is substandard tiles missing & damaged & not enough umbrellas. Having to buy/wear swim caps is ridiculous with so many hirsute men here.
The lifts are slow, or not working and too small for such a big resort.
We had a car fortunately to go to restaurants in the nearby towns, there was a shuttle to the beach but only until 7. The access road to the car park in the back was unlit, unmade, uneven, and risky; luckily we always found a spot.
Extra 56 euros for 4 star tax ? Definitely not worth that
Could the hotel use a bit of refreshing? Sure, but the perfect location, breathtaking views and sunset, exceptional staff make up a slightly ripped curtain!!
Parking
What an utterly ridiculous and dangerous situation (see photos). We were anxious every time we returned to the hotel as each time we would have to navigate the narrow rows and find a place to park which was virtually impossible on most occasions, expect your car to be damaged. This is particularly problematic when you are travelling with a toddler, a pregnant woman and elderly parents who would have to either be dropped close to our building and then a park hunted for or had to walk up the hilly alley ways in extreme heat. There should be allocated parking for each room at the very least. Whoever designed this had absolutely no foresight, this location cannot be accessed without a car (there are no taxis in this small town) so parking should have been a huge consideration.
Curtains
Ripped (see photos) and took me 5 seperate phone calls and visits to reception before they did anything. My brother’s room didn’t have a block out curtain at all, my parent's was damaged and only covered part of the window - this is utterly unacceptable especially considering there is a bright light on the balcony which is on a timer and turns off at midnight - good luck if you want to sleep before then.
Housekeeping
Average attempts at cleaning at best, we stayed for 7 nights and our sheets were never changed, disgraceful. Stained blanket (see photos) and crusty bathroom. Water glasses used on the first day were never washed or replaced.
Restaurant (if you can call it that)
Less of a restaurant and more like some kind of children’s camp buffet. Breakfast was included and was terrible, it was run by people who had no idea what they were doing and was monotonous and average at best. Arriving late with a toddler we attempted to have some dinner the first night and were met with confused staff who had no idea how to accommodate our desire to eat dinner as it was not included. My 3 year old who eats everything was even repulsed by the food and refused to eat it, I could not blame him, it was awful.
Safety
This hotel is not fit for use, it should be shut down immediately. The handrails on the bridges connecting the buildings are loose and are destined for an accident. The lifts are very unsafe, beware if travelling with children as the doors will slam shut whether you are in the way or not.
Pool
The pool looked nice but we never bothered to use it as swimming caps were compulsory and it shut at the hottest part of the day.
In summary it was like some kind of kids camp, complete with loud games and activities being run by large groups of children until late in the evening. The reception staff tried to force us to wear wrist bands, then there was confusion as to what colour we should wear, we refused, there was absolutely no need for them. After travelling all the way from Australia to visit family, they were refused entry to join us for a drink and told to leave after ten minutes. This is not like any hotel I’ve ever stayed in and not in any good sense. We were booked in for 10 nights but after 7 we could not take another second and checked out early, the staff were unapologetic and did not even consider refunding us for the unused nights. What a disgrace.
