San Montano Resort & Spa

Oh my goodness, this hotel is LEVELS. It blew my mind that such a beautiful hotel could exist, with not just one but eleven natural thermal spring pools, with the most divine panoramic views overlooking the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The rooms were stylish, beautiful and comfortable and I was particularly amazed that there is a Dyson hairdryer in every room. The spa was out of this world with such great views. Loved the breakfast selection. Most of all, I really loved the receptionists and the team. Would so love to stay again.

We went off season at the start of April and found everything to be perfect.

My husband and I travelled to Italy for our honeymoon in October. One of the stops on our list was Naples (pizza), however we decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and make an island getaway to Ischia. We treated ourselves to a stay at the San Montano resort, and were truly so spoiled in the days we spent there. The first surprise was a complimentary upgrade to one of the infinity pool suites. Complimentary shuttle services transported us to and from the ferry terminal, the main town, and to the Spiaggia di San Montano, where lounge chairs and umbrellas were provided for hotel guests. We could have stayed at that beach all day. On a day when we wanted to travel further afield on the island, the concierge assisted us with booking a taxi and giving some direction for our adventure. Breakfast was a delight and featured fresh balls of mozzarella, a ham and salami slicing station (!), freshly baked bread, and an impressive array of muesli, dried fruits and nuts, sweets, and homemade jams and preserves. I highly recommend the lemon marmalade. The cocktails and menu at the dining restaurant were delicious (but expensive), and the wait staff went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable experience. The infinity pool suite was spacious and well kept by the cleaning staff, and we visited the complimentary spa, sauna, steam room and mineral bath every day. We loved all of the outdoor pools and the amazing views afforded by being up on the mountain, but were especially impressed by the sea pool. The “natural sauna” was not super hot but was very unique and something I had never experienced. We also treated ourselves to the limontano massage package, which was heavenly. We were so glad to be able to stay at the San Montano and would absolutely love an opportunity to return for a special occasion.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it blew away ALL of our expectations! The view is incredible - 360 views of the island. It truly is such a special and magical hotel that you feel like you never have to leave. But apart from the views is the incredible food on site and most importantly the level of service from the staff. Everyone at this hotel is so helpful friendly kind and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is taken care of. We enjoyed our stay so much and cannot recommend it enough - 5 star does not do this place justice!

Incredible stay - fantastic location with views of sunrise and sunset, excellent and friendly staff, thermal pools to relax and rejuvenate. We didn’t use the sauna or spa amenities but we did go to the gym on site. The staff provided a shuttle to and from the town center of Lacco Ameno, a lovely way to spend the day close by the resort. Shout out to Marco for making our stay so comfortable

A good hotel that lives up to its classification.

Exceptional! We booked this last minute as the first resort we checked into was a major disappointment. San Montano was incredible! The views are magical, the pools were relaxing, our dinner was superb (try the lobster with linguini and the cheesecake), the pizza by the pool was great, but even better than the food was the service! Their team was welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond. We were flying back to the US following our stay here so it was also a bonus that we could do our covid test on site. We were very pleased and will be referring the resort to our friends and family!

Simply EXTRA class! Everything is at the highest level.

This place was magnificent! Staff went above and beyond our needs. In fact I left my wedding ring in my hotel room as I was checking out, staff found a way to get the ring to me before leaving the property. Housekeeping for the win! Thank you all again, we will be coming back.

Oh I forgot! The views.....were amazing, from sea view to the mountain view this place has it all.
