Hotel Corte Valier

Do not stay here. I was supposed to stay for my brothers wedding and we ended up changing hotels. They didn’t cancel our reservation after we requested it and ended up charging us anyway. It is a total scam. Would never stay here based on their horrible customer service.

Unfortunately very disappointing…

It is really not my way to write negative comments at all, but this stay was very disappointing. I paid roughly 550€ per night (including meal in the evening and SPA offer; drinks excluded) and therefore I had very high expectations, also because the homepage suggested a unique experience and I wanted to make a nice surprise to my pregnant wife turning 30. Finally it sorted out to be just a normal hotel with normal service but totally overpriced, even if you consider that is was main season:
- Negative // Room: We booked a room with view on the lake, but the room we got smelled so much like cigarette (I told months before, that my wife was pregnant to make sure that everything works fine), that we asked for another room. This one was still directed to the lake, but you couldn’t see it due to the restaurant in front of it. Already here, we didn’t get what we paid for.
- Negative // No present: According to my booked arrangement, we should have gotten a present on our hotel room: We didn’t get it.
- Negative // SPA: We should have gotten 30 min savonage and 60 min of massage. Both together didn’t last more than 50 min.
- Negative // Dresscode: It was written in the arrangement that in the evening people should wear proper clothes for the dinner. In fact, nobody did this. I don’t have a serious problem with that, but with attention to the price you can expect a little more class from a hotel like that.
- Negative // Food: In my booked arrangement, it was written that both evenings we would have a 4 courses menu. In fact, the 1st and 4th course were “all you can eat” with the corresponding low-cost quality. Also on the second evening also the main course was “all you can eat”.
- Negative // Bicycles: Were both broken and in very bad shape.
- Negative // Staff at the entrance: We complained in a very polite manner and explained all those points above: We only got a price discount of 5% and the bicycles were not charged. I would have expected far more discount due to the fact, that most points of the booked arrangement have not been fulfilled.
Of course there are some positive points:
- Positive // Staff in restaurant: Very friendly and nice! We were seated directly to the buffet entrance where everybody walked in and out to get food, but the personal was so kind and allowed us to move to a quieter table.
We will not come back and it is the first time in my life, that I didn’t give any tip, because I couldn’t recognize any serious effort from the staff to make our stay meeting the points of the booked arrangements. I feel really sorry!
