Reviews
Location is a bit away from peschiera's city center, so without having a car it is going to be abit difficult to get to the city center!!! during night specially! Plus it's way too dark on the way down (but you can manage it!) but
.they have everything that you can ask for
With the company we come to have courses for a month and it is not our first year, and this
place is good, comfortable and welcoming
The bar is nice as well. Very chill and calm (usually) of course it depends if there are families or not. But usually its very veryyy chill
We're a small family of 3; 2 parents and our 9 y/Io child and our first package type holiday together. Overall I'd say it's a great option for families who want a base to explore but without the hassle of any meal prep.
The first thing is that it's not just a hotel, but part of a resort of golf courses and holiday apartments around a pool complex.
We didn't use any of this as it's October so nowhere near warm enough.
A lot of other visitors were on group/coach travel. The hotel caters for a lot of conferences so it was busy. It didn't have quaint, Italian atmosphere but it provided everything we needed and was really peaceful at night.
The random issue we first discovered is that the reception is not in the hotel itself, but a separate building on the parc grounds.
After a bit of coming and going, we got our key and had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the grounds.
We had a hire car and there's ample, free parking.
Also, the Parc resort has its own road system with a back entrance/exit. It's best to use this as our Google maps sent us down some pretty sketchy, narrow roads on the first couple of trips out.
We had half board and wasn't sure what to expect with the food, but don't worry, it was all great!!
The evening meal had 5 options and different every night. There was plain pasta and separate tomato sauce every night, but also fish, chicken, sausages, beef, turkey curry, beef stew and aubergine bake, to name just a few.
Also, plenty of sides that I don't usually get easily at home; lentils, beans, ratatouille.
Added to this, there were always 6 or7 different salads, plus bread.
Loads of pudding choices. It was so much and we were extremely well fed
But the best bit really was the drinks machine! Help yourself to soft drinks , draft lager, house red or house white.
This made the value jump even higher!
We went out to the town (on the free bus) for one night for a change. We had 3 pizzas, 3 drinks and 3 puddings and paid €87 - so it helps to put it in context.
Not everyone loved everything but there was something for everyone.
The waiters were friendly and efficient, clearing and turning around tables to get people seated as quickly as possible.
Breakfast was equally as well catered: eggs, bacon, frankfurters, pancakes, 3 different types of fresh bread, plus sliced bread. 6 different types of cereal plus seeds and nuts. Big bowls of fresh fruit salad, yogurt, ham, salami, cheese.
Croissants and pastries.
Breakfast cakes!
Unlimitedly coffee, tea, juice.
The indoor swimming pool was available for everyone - including children. A swim cap was obligatory so we had to buy them, but bring your own if you can. They only cost €2.50 from the hotel.
There's also a small games room with pool and table football so you need coins.
Also a small bookshelf which was handy for me as I didn't have a book. Most of them were in German and this seemed to be the biggest nationality of visitors in the whole area.
I still found 3 or 4 books in English.
There was a fridge in the room for a mini bar and as we had a car, we stocked up on a few of our own supplies. Local wine in Aldi was €3 a bottle - and that was pushing the boat out!
The room seemed very hot at night and no air con working. I didn't mind, but my partner felt a bit uncomfortable, so no need to pack the thick PJ's or fluffy socks !!
However the restaurant and bar staff did not have warm hospitality towards foreigners I noticed, really off putting so I didn't go back to them. Location is not the best either if you're going to sightsee then definitely stay in the center, that was my mistake though.
The inside dining in Italy was not allowed but eating in an underground restaurant with hundreds of people was the only offered option. We were not even allowed to take our dinner to the room in the middle of Covid pandemic. We ended up having dinner in a truck-rest-stop.
Since we had quite a drive, I called in advance to check if we can wait by the pool till check-in time. They confirmed on the phone but in reality we were not allowed to.
And OMG, a golf ball almost hit me twice while laying next to the pool due to the close proximity of the golf club. Be aware, especially if you have a toddler or a baby!
And so much more ... the cleaning personnel entered our room at 8:45 in the morning on check-out day, our balcony was full of spider nets, we were not allowed to book the services on our card although it was mentioned as an option, inefficient check-in process - long waiting time, and the worst Wi-Fi we have ever experienced unless you want to pay extra, of course ...
Of course, there were some nice things. The pools were great, the pool furniture was sanitized, the backyard was pretty, the breakfast was diverse, golf course, tennis, our room was upgraded ...
