Reviews
Let’s start with the positives:
- The pools are excellent — clean, attractive, and well-managed.
- The poolside staff are attentive and friendly. Honestly, the only area where service felt truly 5-star.
Now, everything else:
- The suite itself? Spacious, yes — but that’s where the luxury ends. No special amenities, no welcome extras. Just a bigger room with basic fittings.
- Vanity kits aren’t refilled, even after multiple nights.
- Turn-down service is hit-or-miss — one night they showed up to close the curtains; the next, no one came at all.
- We found a wet and dirty towel among the supposedly clean ones under the sink. For this price point, that’s inexcusable.
The restaurant (half board) experience felt like a low-effort afterthought:
- Chaotic service — we had to ask three times to get a menu.
- Buffet is overloaded with sweets but lacking real food.
- Simple Italian dishes are okay, but anything remotely complex is dry and unbalanced.
- Let’s not talk about fine dining — it simply doesn’t exist here.
Then there’s the pricing:
- €8 for 5cl of the cheapest Port, which retails at €9 for the whole bottle.
- Water is complimentary only on the first night. After that, it’s charged — even in a suite. A small touch, but revealing.
Overall, Falkensteiner Jesolo looks the part in photos, and the pool area lives up to it. But beneath the surface, there’s a lack of attention to detail, inconsistent service, and a serious disconnect between price and experience.
We left with the feeling that this is a hotel where you pay for the illusion of luxury, not the reality of it.
I must highlight the “sauna world” and the panoramic sauna, it was a blessing on a rainy day.
- Starting from the room. Room was not clean, especially curtains near the bed were very dirty (supposed to be white, but they were not). Smoking is allowed at the balcony, so almost every time you open a window, you can smell someone is smoking nearby. The sinks drained very poorly, water stagnated.
- The biggest disappointment was food. This was not a real Italian cuisine, quality was ok, but the food was not tasty at all. Especially comparing to our previous experience in Venice. They reheat food for dinner instead of cooking fresh. Maybe except pizza, but their pizza is not good either (too oily). We suggest you to go out and find a better authentic restaurant close to the hotel.
- Service is quite slow. In restaurants they speak very poor English (for a 5-star hotel we expected the opposite), often don't understand the order, often confuse something. Again, quite frustrating. People at the reception desk were helpful, but we didn't feel a friendliness (like one always can feel it in a good 5-star).
- Hotel's interior is very cheap. There were not live plants - only plastic ones! Never seen something like that in other 5-star hotels.
- The only positive side is a location. The hotel is in the first line close to a big sandy beach, very clean. Couldn't complain about it.
So overall we were disappointed, and are not coming back to this hotel.
P.S. After leaving the hotel we had a very nice delicious dinner in Venice to heal our damaged souls.
The swimming pools are great for children different ages. The water temperature is amazing and different in the pools.
The beach and the staff there are very nice.
The restaurant for breakfast and dinner is super. You can always find healthy and delicious food.
But I would improve some details at the hotel:
1. My child opened the room door very easily and went out twice. It would be nice to have an additional locker that is located higher on the door. For safety reasons for children.
2. Telephone in the room has a very bright light that is on the whole night. I put a pillow on it, but it didn't help very well. The same with an air-conditioner if you want to change the temperature in the night.
3. It would be nice to have a seat disinfection in the WCs, because of children.
4. The cleaning staff uses a lot of chemical liquids in the children club especially on the table where children play. And the liquid smells a lot in the morning.
5. I was afraid to leave the child alone on the terrace of the room. The fence of the terrace is not enough safe for small children. They could climb on fences.
6. There are no WCs and changing rooms at the swimming pools and the beach. The nearest WC is on the second floor of the hotel. For children it's impossible to use.
Thank you!
I would love to come back to the hotel next year!
