Hotel Conca d'Oro

The most terrible experience. The service was horrendous. After a long trip from the airport to the hotel, we had to climb with all our luggage, what felt like a billion stairs before we got to the hotel. We check in, expecting to go to our room to shower and rest, turns out there is no electricity. They ask us to hang out at the bar and have a drink until they fix the problem. Mind you, it was 11pm and the room was not ready. You would think that because they asked us to have a drink at the bar and the room was not ready at 11pm, that the drinks would at least be complimentary. It is the very least they can do for the inconvenience. It was not. Most reputable and respectable institutions would make an effort to at least remedy the situation. Poor hospitality. It felt as though they were trying to milk us for as much as they could, since we were tourists. For $500 a night you would expect top notch service. We did not experience great service and hospitality. Spend your money elsewhere.

We dropped post cards at the front desk, already stamped, with the promise that they will take care of mailing them. They never did.
Post card stamps in Italy have tracking numbers and we can see that none of them made it to the sorting station at the post office.

It doesn’t matter how good of an hotel you are and how hard your employees try to make people enjoy their stay. If you fail to deliver on the most basic promise, aka “we will mail your post card”, you deserve one star.

Do better.

IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A RELAXING TIME, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!

This "great" hotel has a wedding party of approximately 100 people with really loud music, deep bass, dancing and screaming right outside of our room in the middle of the night!

I asked at the check-in desk at 10:50pm when this was going to stop, and the receptionist replied with; "it will be over in an hour"

It is 11:10pm and WE CANNOT GET ANY SLEEP.

I recently stayed at Conca D’oro Positano it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The manager was extremely rude and mean from the moment we arrived. To make matters worse, we were overcharged for breakfast that no one informed us would be an additional charge. This was a surprise added to our bill at the end of our stay, and when I tried to address it with the manager, she was completely unprofessional, dismissive, and even yelled at me.

What truly shocked me was the blatant racism I encountered. The manager treated me differently because of my race, and her behavior was nothing short of discriminatory. It's unacceptable in any establishment, let alone one that is supposed to provide hospitality. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice before booking. There are plenty of other places where you will be treated with the respect and decency you deserve. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

Will start with negatives and end with positives.

1. Upon check out, check your receipts they added drinks and snacks that we did not take. We were really surprised that they did that.

2. I left my RayBans on the seat in the lobby then returned to grab them and they were gone. I asked the receptionist at the front desk(older lady) if they have them and she told me NO. Then she went and started looking through the pillows on the couch and I told her no, they won’t be in the pillows someone took them. She said they don’t have them no one turned them in. When I asked to call all the employees and I want to ask them she then got my glasses from behind her computer screen. She didn’t even apologies. I was really shocked.

Positives:

1. Views were amazing from this hotel, it’s a bit of a walk but worth it.

2. Breakfast was really good.

3. Room was clean.

I wouldn’t stay here again because of dishonesty, it kind of ruined it for us. Even if the views are nice, the poor and dishonest treatment ruins the experience overall.
