Great hotel. Amazing couple who own the B&B amazingly kind and generous. Great breakfast every morning and central to Path of God's, Sorrento, Capri, and all the Amalfi Coast. Only thing to be sure of is you like to walk up steps. It's about 15 minutes from the beach. But if you take the city bus it's a quick trip up the hill. Otherwise, it's about 400 steps to the hotel. When visiting the Amalfi Coast in Italy, Positano is just as beautiful as you have heard or seen in the movies. The trip from Rome was enchanting and engaging to say the least. Great experience when we stayed here back in 2019. Hotel has a great location by the water so you can jump on a ferry and check out the sites nearby (ie Amalfi, Ravelo, Capri etc). It’s also walking distance to really good restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend wearing comfy shoes if you want to explore around the hotel.

Lovely atmosphere and position

The food was good, but we had a bad experience. when sitting down at the table the glass table exploded. I ended up with chunk of skin being removed along with 5 cuts. No one helped and no one asked if I was ok or said they were sorry. we had to ask for a first aid kit.

The pizza was good but the lemon shrimp risotto which was recommended by our waiter (22 euros) was undercooked - the rice was hard and the flavor was very bland (it tasted just like the lemon pepper seasoning from a bottle that they sell in the states). I expected a lot more flavor from Positano, where the lemons are a highlight.

We recently stayed at Hotel Montemare and it was a really lovely experience. From the hotel service to the balcony views to a delicious breakfast--it was outstanding from the beginning. The rooms are very nice and clean, the view is stunning, the location is amazing and people are super friendly. You would not be in the "city center" of Positano, but at Fornillo, a quieter and prettier beach. The city center is then only 6-7 minutes away, on foot, along a path with also a stunning view. The hotel has direct beach access, and you can remt sunbed and umbrellas for a discounted price...

It was good because the price point to me was fair and the view was great. The staff inifitally were very sweet until the end of our stay. They then were very rude. Once we walked in, as I bent down to grab my luggage that was under our "TV stand" a piece of heavy marble fell on my back. My husband called to let them know and to complain but they did not care...just asked if I was OK. Did not offer...
