Hotel location was a bit of a hike from the ferry but the view and getting away from the crowds makes it worth it. Room was very clean and comfortable. We were upgraded to an amazing balcony room with our own terrace. Paolo at the front desk was awesome. Very helpful with suggestions, directions, and arranging porter services. Pool was a little chilly but that area and the view was very nice. We used the beach club daily. Having this option makes this one of the best hotel options in Positano. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Marincanto last week. We are not easily impressed and usually leave hotels feeling underwhelmed. That couldn’t be farther from the case at this hotel. From the moment we booked, we felt completely taken care of by the hotel. They helped us book taxis, transfers and reservations. When we arrived for check in, we were a sweaty mess (we hiked up directly from the ferry). They immediately sat us down with cold water, lemonade and Prosecco and a fan. Our room was absolutely stunning— more than we could have dreamed from the view to the terrace to the design of the room. The bed was the most comfortable in all the hotels we stayed in on this trip. The view was spectacular. We ended every night with a drink and a sweet treat on our terrace overlooking Positano. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options with a beautiful ocean view and wonderful service. The hotel offers private beach access with plenty of chairs and a bar. One of our favorite days was spent lounging by the ocean and swimming in the Mediterranean away from the crowded beaches. The staff at the hotel were kind, courteous and more than hospitable. The design of the entire hotel is romantic and beautiful. We will dream about this stay until we return again. Do not hesitate to book Hotel Marincanto. (And add an extra night or two to your time here. If not, you will wish you had!)

The location and views from the hotel are great. The “private beach” is actually shared with a beach club that has all of the front row chairs and the only chairs on the actual beach. Hotel marincanto only has 20 or so of the hundred chairs available for its guests and it’s only open from 10am to 6pm. It’s still better than no beach and when you consider how much the beach club people are paying for their chairs ($350 for 2 chairs) the hotel is a pretty good value.
My biggest issue was the bed. The sheets were the lowest quality possible. The uncomfortable mattress had a plastic cover on it that crinkled loudly every time you moved. The pillows were awful and they covered the bed in dirty throw pillows that have spent years on the floor since everybody would immediately want to remove these (with nowhere else to put them).
The AC was the worst we experienced among the 5 hotels we stayed at in Italy. It was super loud and never got near the set temperature even when leaving a key in slot the entire stay. The bathroom fan had a terrible rattle and the shower door was old, low quality, and dirty.
There was nothing luxury about this hotel. If it did not have beach access I would not consider staying here. I don’t think there are really any other hotels with beach access and a better location in positano, so they don’t feel overly obligated to make improvements. Some minor renovations would go a long way to improving the guest experience here and judging by how out dated everything is I would hope they are coming soon.

Hotel Marincanto in Positano is an absolute gem! The views from the hotel are nothing short of spectacular, offering breathtaking vistas of the Amalfi Coast that are worth every penny. The staff were fantastic—friendly, professional, and always eager to assist with a smile. The meals served at the hotel were delightful, adding to the overall wonderful experience.
Be prepared for a bit of a drive to get there; it can be a little nerve-wracking, but the stunning views along the way make it worthwhile. Once you arrive, be ready for a bit of a hike—there are about 300 steps down to the beautiful beach, but the descent is well worth it for the gorgeous seaside setting. Highly recommend Hotel Marincanto for an unforgettable stay in Positano!

Outstanding experience. Views from room & pool were amazing. Very clean. A/C works great. Private beach access. Breakfast was fantastic.
Staff are very friendly. Bar staff made delicious cocktails. I want to mention a person who went above and beyond each day to make our stay that much better. He made sure my wife and I were well taken care of the entire trip. Thank you Paulo.

We had our wedding at Hotel Marincanto last week and it was everything we wanted. It really is the most beautiful and romantic hotel in the world. Antonella was better than any events manager we could have asked for, helping us plan our special day from start to finish. Salvatore and his staff provided professional and friendly service, and everything was to our preferences. Even with storms passing during the evening, the Marincanto team went the extra mile to move our reception indoors, and then again outdoors when it cleared. Nothing was too much trouble, it was generous Italian hospitality at its finest! The backdrop and the views of Positano are beyond words. Food was divine. Pool and terrace were heavenly. Our ceremony was private and intimate.
It was a perfect day, and a perfect stay. All of our guests were incredibly impressed and enjoyed tremendously. THANK YOU, we will be returning every year!

My wife and I recently stayed here a few nights for our Honey Moon. Incredible location and views. The staff here is awesome and helped book trips and make reservations for us. Rooms are perfect and in great walking distance to just about everything. Would absolutely recommend staying here if you are staying in Positano.

Nice experience. The hotel is beautiful and the views are stunning. The beach beds were appreciated since the public beach was quite busy. Breakfast selection was nice (though the eggs could be much improved). Only compliant was that the water in the mini bar was not complimentary, was misleading as there were no prices and we were given a 50 euro bill at the end of our trip.

My wife and I visited Hotel Marincanto for our honeymoon. It was such a special place. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and the restaurant food was exquisite. The staff was very accommodating and helped us schedule PCR tests (at the hotel), so we could satisfy international travel requirements to get home. It also had easy access to the beach down private stairs directly from the hotel. Finally, it was very reasonably priced compared to other comparable hotels in the area - value that cannot be beat!

The hotel is old but gold so to say. We had a gigantic room with astonishing view. Could not have asked for any better. We also had ana amazing dinner on the terrace and the food was simply delicious. The location is central has a parking (extra paid) but worth it. The pool is nice and the staff very friendly. Only on one occasion we wanted to pick something from the car and the Parker never showed up. Other than this the terrace is amazing. Breakfast options could be improved. Location is excellent
