On arrival there was a guest complaining about the housekeeping service. We were initially concerned that we had chosen the wrong hotel. Absolutely not - it was fantastic. Amazing hotel in Stresa on shore of Lake Maggiore. Just cross the road and you are at the lakeside. The hotel is magnificent inside with stained and painted glass covers to the entrance,chandeliers in the lobby are amazing and smaller versions are in the bedrooms. Some rooms are a little small but never the less are good with plenty of wardrobe space, and all have room safes. Food is excellent even...

The hotel is a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5. It is exceptional in many ways. There are few luxury hotels like it and with a great location.

I can't give full score since I had one of the small single rooms towards the back. My company was at the front with balcony and lake view and said they were in heaven. Everywhere is beautifully maintained and comfortable though. The reception is very welcoming and friendly. Wifi is good.

I have just returned from a Blake's tour to lake Maggiore.we stayed at this hotel . I could not fault it .The staff were brilliant the meals were great,and the rooms were good(the only reason I gave 4stars was we had no view. It is situated on the lake near the ferry and tourist boats

This hotel is located in a great location, beautiful views of the lake and the staff is outstanding! The trains went on strike the day of our departure and the staff worked for hours to find us alternative transportation. I highly recommend this hotel. We had a great stay there!

I stay in this Hotel every time I go to Stresa. Every 2 - 3yrs. Been going for well over 20yrs. Superb Hotel, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Food is superb (5star) staff/service 5 star. Can’t fault it. I’ll certainly be back soon

Fantastic place to use as a base to see lake Magguri, on the front handy for lake shuttle boats and busses, road can be busy, we were on the back overlooking the quaint old town which is great, loads of cafes, bars and resteraunts. Our stay at Hotel Saini was great 🙂 We came from Zurich for a weekend trip, and the owner made us feel super welcome. He gave us tons of great recommendations, and we had a really nice breakfast in the hotel. Hotel is very well located with many good restaurants and ferry terminal within easy walking. Room is clean, well kept, and has all amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. Service staff of hotel is very helpful and efficient, and Mr Saini goes out of his way to recommend activities and places to go to, which is very much appreciated in a region where not all locals speak English. The attitude of the hotel owners was almost unbelievably good! They we trying hard to advice you where to go, what to see, what tours to buy etc. And their advices were not for profit, they never asked you to mention their names or something - they simply wanted you to enjoy their area.

Hotel is ok for the price. The owner is very friendly. No air conditioning and what we did not enjoy was that each time we went out, the owners came in the room (more than once a day). Otherwise very central to the nice places of Stresa.

We had a great week in a clean new hotel, after general renovation in corona period. We enjoyed an amazing view to the lake from the window, a central , but quiet place, and wonderful breakfasts on the roof of the building. Thanks to the owners of hotel for a homely and fun feeling.

I was one of the first to stay in the Sempione after its remodeling, and it is wonderful. Everything brand new, elegant and comfortable. The view from the terrace is unbelievable, and the managers and staff are delightful -- with a real eye for detail. Would definitely go back... soon!

Nice hotel with stunning views! Good rooms, but need some refurbishment:)

Service is better than what i would expect from a 3-star hotel. The food in the restaurant is also very good and reasonably priced for the area. However, the AC in the room was a big let down, it barely cooled the room and shut off after a certain time in the evening, this led to very hot nights as i didn't want to open the window due to the mosquitos. Our room also suffered for train noise, not enough...

Lovely hotel. Brilliant location for exploring Stresa, the islands and getting the cable car. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Food was great and they did special meals for the children each evening. Pool was never too busy and the kids loved it. Would definitely recommend this for a family friendly holiday.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. The whole of our stay was wonderful, from the fantastic breakfast, lovely pool and garden, creative and tasty evening meal courses to the staff who were incredibly kind and attentive. Our stay could not have been more perfect!

We loved it, all the bar staff and waiter s were really professional and friendly. Bit of a walk into Stresa but lovely along the lake side and convenient for the boats. Only downside is the busy road is a bit noisy.

A wonderful hotel with very nice staff. The kids had a wonderful time at the pool and the adults relaxed with a nice drink. The rooms were large and had a nice view from the balcony. The breakfast was a nice too.

Stresa and Lake Maggiore are not to be missed. The Moderno makes a good base. I suggest you ask about the rooms before selecting, as the hotel encompasses several buildings and the rooms vary. The Hotel is a good value for the price, but it is ageing and somewhat dated. We like firm mattresses and our room had the firmest mattress ever!

At centre location, a block from ferry terminal to islands. Many restaurants within a few blocks. Perfect for a short stay. Coffee is good. Bed is firm, excellent hot shower, water pressure good. Hotel has elevator.

It's a great hotel!! However, if you do not drive it is quite a walk into Stressa. So a taxi is needed it costs roughly 15€. You do get the most amazing views. Breakfast is very simple but you have a wide variety of continental options. No hot breakfast options.

Beautifully perched on a promontory with view over Lake Major. It's best to have your breakfast under the morning sun on the terrace overlooking the lake. From there you can also see some Bartolomeo islands. Very nice. The hotel can serve a good supper with a fair price if asked for. Nearby on the left within a hundred yards there is a church. View of the lake and the surroundings in the falling evening...

We had a really nice stay and highly recommend this hotel! The receptionists are super friendly. The hotel rooms are very clean and tidy, with perfect view on the lake. We also really liked the breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast had a great variety, every day different cakes (freshly made) were served. We can also recommend their offer to go for a 3 course dinner at one of the islands.

Very nice accomodation. 2 km from Stresa, however you cannot reach it by foot. There is a bus going to Stresa each hour and coming back, so is easy to reach the town. Just accros the street there is a beach were you can relax and play(for kids). Breakfast is delicios. We enjoyed our time here and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Thank you for all!

The room is very good, the facilities are good, there is a small balcony, but you can't see the lake. The food and service are very good.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views of the lake

Except that the location is not as good as another five-star hotel, (the location is about 1 km away, but at night, when the lights of the two small islands are dim, this point is exceeded), everything else exceeds expectations.

We were very fortunate to stay at such short notice. The staff were super helpful down to the smallest detail, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious! The location was perfect with tremendous views across the lake.

Right next to the pier, you can easily take a cruise around the lake. The hotel provides free parking spaces, but you can ask the front desk if you can't find them. The room is large and it is very comfortable to sunbathe on the balcony.

Receptionist on arrival was very poor took passports then handed keys over. No direction to lift or room. Thankfully other Receptionists later where very helpful. Great view to North building site to south

We found this hotel while searching for somewhere to stay on Lake Maggiore. We were in Brig in Switzerland at the time and had been looking on the internet for a hotel near the lake in Stresa. Excelent Hotel Very clean, fresh paintwork, service exceptional. Close to the mountain cable car - well worth avisit, Lido for jumping on and off the Ferries to all parts of Lake Maggiore. Would recomend the hotel and area to anyone- especially those interested in gardens.

The journey from the airport to hotel was terrible, but the stay at the hotel was very good. At midnight, the hotel owner welcomed us and tells us the most important information. He invited us for a tasty breakfast and the service in the restaurant was nice. The room was very clean and you could relax. The hotel is located in a quiet location.

The receptionist upon our arrival was very welcoming, as was the waitress at lunch and breakfast. The staff were very friendly. Beautiful dining room. Hearty meal. The same goes for breakfast. The only downside was the privacy of the guests in the rooms. The walls must not be thick. We could hear the shutters opening and closing in the neighboring rooms.

We stayed in the apartment next to the hotel. Spacious and modern rooms, in the bathroom and living room a knob was missing from the furniture. Bathroom with very spacious shower and washing machine.
