Where to stay in Stresa

Stayed with my friend for 5 days and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The service is great and the staff is absolutely friendly and welcoming. The food was also very delicious and of good quality. The Hotel and the rooms are clean. Over all we would definitely recommend the hotel 😊

Amazing location—can’t be beaten. The private pool area is outstanding, with perfect views onto the lago. The rooms are good but nothing special, especially given the hotel‘s price. Not sure whether the rooms feel like 4 stars. The staff is very friendly.

Lovely hotel right on the lake with its own lakeside pool and beach. Breakfast was great but could be busy. Pool area was a little small for the hotel size but access to the lake from the dock made up for it. Amazing views from the rooftop bar (though this was a bit trendy for us!)

The hotel is new, nice pools and atmosphere. I booked a classic room with a balcony, but they gave me the room overlooking the construction site. Perfect Stay at Hotel La Palma! Hotel La Palma in Stresa exceeded all expectations. The stunning lake views from the room were breathtaking. It was our third time at Hotel La Palma. We have had good experiences in the past but this time we were very disappointed with the service, especially in the Sky Bar. The service staff behaved unfriendly and lazy and didn't make you feel welcome. The service was absolutely not up to the standard of the hotel. What a pity.

Very well located hotel in Stresa. Had a great stay

Very happy with the stay. Yes rooms are rather smaller but for a couple of days big enough. Particularly for the price in this location absolutely great deal. Room was clean, furniture rather new, stunning view. Breakfast was not a highlight though so maybe it’s better to eat outside. But overall great stay and value for money.

Stayed in June 2022....I loved it....super efficient staff and management .I had a small room on 4 th floor outlook the back so the mountains was lovely.I found the breakfast more than adequate. The hotel has now been extended so there will be plenty more rooms with Lake view Thank you Hotel Boston.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the boston hotel. I was a single lady travelling a lone to see my brothers. The staff were very helpful indeed. The breakfast was super. All breakfast staff were lovely. My room was super too. Will certainly stay again. Its central for all boat trips. And a beauiful place to visit. Fully recommand it to come and relax. Even stayed on another 4 nights.

Very helpful. Very clean. Breakfast was OK. Not luxury but satisfying. Enough to choose from...3 types of bread, 3 types of cheese, croissant, cake, yoghurt, cereal, different types of coffees and teas, meat slices, juices and more. Fruit but no vegetables. Excelent Hotel Very clean, fresh paintwork, service exceptional. Close to the mountain cable car - well worth avisit, Lido for jumping on and off the Ferries to all parts of Lake Maggiore. Would recomend the hotel and area to anyone- especially those interested in gardens.

Kind of old-school style european hotel - but in a good way. Staff was freindly and the hotel is very well located for restaurants and ferry trips. A moderate walk down the hill from the train station. Some rooms require walking up stairs and this can be tiring for older folks. The low price reflects lack of fancy style, but it is clean and well run.

Well situated for boat tours and restaurants all in walking distance.

The rooms are functional. Bathroom OK. No fridge. Breakfast was good. Location is excellent. Unfortunately my room had no view just a window looking out onto a brick wall. Also if you are on the second floor the lift only went to the first and I and my partner almost got a hernia lugging our bags up a flight of stairs. Also the Wi-Fi did not work on the second floor.

Charming hotel on the lake shore near the centre of the pretty town of Stresa. Always crowded with tourists, Northern Europeans are habitue' here. Inside the hotel corridors have window displays with beautiful private collections, including tea cups, thimbles, smoking paraphernalia. Wonderfully extravagant hotel, in the grand hotel tradition. They have maintained an upscale approach to service which can feel a bit too reserved at times. Great spa and indoor pool. Unparalleled view of the lake and walking distance to a charming village center. As with many European hotels the air conditioning is not on in early March. Great location, great service (without being overbearing), nice SPA and outside pool. We stayed in one of the diminutive "attic rooms", and while nothing really special or "bohemian" about them, they are still bigger than standard rooms in most other hotels while being incredible value for money !

Beautiful grounds, location is great, service was wonderful! The spa is GREAT! But you need to renovate your rooms . They are very old , heavy dated curtains, old and worn furniture. The air conditioning vent in my room (550) was black . At night you hear a lot of banging above the room .

I stayed for two nights, amazing location and view. Unfortunately, Service was not to that standard. For example I requested for an iron which was not available in the room they told me it’s not allowed for safety reason, I believe it was a very funny answer. Most of the hotels around the world are providing irons in their rooms, so I had to give my one shirt and 2 t-shirts for ironing which they charged...

Nice grand old hotel. Service details could use some attention. Shirt pressing requested for a wedding at 1pm wasn't done till 2:30. Accidentally left one of the hotel's disposable umbrellas at a museum and concierge made a big stink over it. Not allowed to use the pool on the day of checkout if you have a late afternoon flight.

For over 15 years, I've been visiting this beautiful and stylish hotel. The service is outstanding and the value for money is just perfect.

Great location as it's near the main ferry to get to Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Isola Superiore. The hotel staff are warm and friendly. The cleaning staff was very affectionate and kind when we asked for a warmer blanket. Room was clean and comfortable. And the lake view was incredible.

Slightly old fashioned establishment it put me in mind of Agatha Christie (I had visions of Hercule Poirot walking through the door). Only used hotel for drinks and dinner. Food generally not bad with enough choice to please most. Service was very good for us but I know others were not so impressed. There is a roof terrace that gives you good views over the Lake, but not well advertised or used.

Just OK for a night Was 30degrees and air conditioning wasn't on when we arrived so room was roasting, and we asked for a double bed and got two single bed together... The attitude of the hotel owners was almost unbelievably good! They we trying hard to advice you where to go, what to see, what tours to buy etc. And their advices were not for profit, they never asked you to mention their names or something - they simply wanted you to enjoy their area.

Hotel is ok for the price. The owner is very friendly. No air conditioning and what we did not enjoy was that each time we went out, the owners came in the room (more than once a day). Otherwise very central to the nice places of Stresa.

We had the most fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms have the most fantastic views and we had 3 balconies to choose from. We would highly recommend this as a great place to stay in a great location close to ferry (3 mins walk) and center (5 mins walk).

The scenery was simply breathtaking and staff welcomed us with open arms. We didn’t have any complaints during our stay. One great perk was the ability to choose between a smaller and bigger breakfast. Probably one of the best hotels to stay at during your visit at Stresa. Would definitely visit again!

The hotel is lovely, with character and charm. It is in the perfect location being just 2 minutes walk to the central shops and restaurants of Stresa. The lake views from our suite and terrace were amazing. The breakfasts were excellent. The staff are wonderful, being cheerful and always willing to assist in every way. Thanks to ALL of the staff.

We had a really nice stay and highly recommend this hotel! The receptionists are super friendly. The hotel rooms are very clean and tidy, with perfect view on the lake. We also really liked the breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast had a great variety, every day different cakes (freshly made) were served. We can also recommend their offer to go for a 3 course dinner at one of the islands.

The best place for a vacation

Very nice accomodation. 2 km from Stresa, however you cannot reach it by foot. There is a bus going to Stresa each hour and coming back, so is easy to reach the town. Just accros the street there is a beach were you can relax and play(for kids). Breakfast is delicios. We enjoyed our time here and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Thank you for all!

Best vacation place ever

Location of the hotel was a 15 minute walk into Stresa. There was a ferry port just outside to connect you to other towns around the lake. Our room had a wonderful lake view. The breakfast had a good selection each morning.

Considering the combination of price and hotel itself, it’s great . Not big but with everything and very friendly staffs.

Stayed here in 2015 and briefly visited in 2018. Traditional comfy hotel just outside the centre of Stresa. Very good food and service.

Pretty good for the price. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was made passable by the cappuccinos. The room was a little bit cramped, the bathroom small and a little moldy and, sadly the hotel needs a bit of maintenance, but they welcomed our dogs which was awesome and the view was great. The gardens are huge, a great place to chill and full of small lizards which was super fun to watch.

We have been coming here for 5 years and the last 2 we have seen some amazing changes. The owners are very welcoming.

The Inn Keeper is a dear person, the wifi is good, the breakfast and coffee were great, but the mattress needs to be updated, as do the bathroom amenities and the # of electrical outlets near the bed. I use a c-pap and I had to plug it into the bathroom outlet, so we had a night time tripping issue. We didn't shower there, because of the amenities. Small family-run hotel, welcoming and with rooms and services worthy of 3 stars. They also offer the possibility of ordering dinner, which is much appreciated considering that the hotel is in a small isolated village and we didn't want to go down to Stresa for dinner. The breakfast buffet is normal, in my opinion can be improved in the genuineness of the offer.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights on a 10 day trip through northern Italy and we loved it! It was a true mom and pop establishment with clean rooms, a great restaurant in the lobby and a gorgeous view. A friendly hotel and comfortable. Very convenient for cable car and for the lake. Great walk along the lake front just outside hotel with stunning views of Isola Bella. Look out for the grebes. Food is good without being too fussy. Small pool, but you can use the big pool at the Astoria.
