Where to stay in Stresa

Amazing hotel in Stresa on shore of Lake Maggiore. Just cross the road and you are at the lakeside. The hotel is magnificent inside with stained and painted glass covers to the entrance,chandeliers in the lobby are amazing and smaller versions are in the bedrooms. The hotel is a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5. It is exceptional in many ways. There are few luxury hotels like it and with a great location.

I can't give full score since I had one of the small single rooms towards the back. My company was at the front with balcony and lake view and said they were in heaven. Everywhere is beautifully maintained and comfortable though. The reception is very welcoming and friendly. Wifi is good.

Fantastic place to use as a base to see lake Magguri, on the front handy for lake shuttle boats and busses, road can be busy, we were on the back overlooking the quaint old town which is great, loads of cafes, bars and resteraunts. Stayed for three nights last week. This hotel is over two buildings and we were in the smaller one. Upon check-in told, ‘the lift goes to 5, you’re on 6’ so had to haul bags up a huge flight of stairs. We had a twin room where we had to separate the beds. There was barely room to walk around them and the beds were tiny and therefore quite uncomfortable. The WiFi kept cutting out in our room. At breakfast...

Really nice hotel. The more experienced waiter know all languages, really helpfull and always has a smile. Rooms are big and comfy. Place is literally a few steps away from the boat departures/arrivals. A real gem and truly recommended.

Outstanding staff made my 3 day stay pleasant. Bed and pillows are not comfortable, so little sleep. The town is walkable from this hotel. We had breakfast included. Basic under cooked bacon and eggs (American) each day with pastries, fruit, yogurt and cereal.

Service is better than what i would expect from a 3-star hotel. The food in the restaurant is also very good and reasonably priced for the area. However, the AC in the room was a big let down, it barely cooled the room and shut off after a certain time in the evening, this led to very hot nights as i didn't want to open the window due to the mosquitos. Lovely hotel. Brilliant location for exploring Stresa, the islands and getting the cable car. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Food was great and they did special meals for the children each evening. Pool was never too busy and the kids loved it. Would definitely recommend this for a family friendly holiday.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. The whole of our stay was wonderful, from the fantastic breakfast, lovely pool and garden, creative and tasty evening meal courses to the staff who were incredibly kind and attentive. Our stay could not have been more perfect!

We loved it, all the bar staff and waiter s were really professional and friendly. Bit of a walk into Stresa but lovely along the lake side and convenient for the boats. Only downside is the busy road is a bit noisy.

A wonderful hotel with very nice staff. The kids had a wonderful time at the pool and the adults relaxed with a nice drink. The rooms were large and had a nice view from the balcony. The breakfast was a nice too.

Hotel is very well located with many good restaurants and ferry terminal within easy walking. Room is clean, well kept, and has all amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The attitude of the hotel owners was almost unbelievably good! They we trying hard to advice you where to go, what to see, what tours to buy etc. And their advices were not for profit, they never asked you to mention their names or something - they simply wanted you to enjoy their area.

Hotel is ok for the price. The owner is very friendly. No air conditioning and what we did not enjoy was that each time we went out, the owners came in the room (more than once a day). Otherwise very central to the nice places of Stresa.

We had a great week in a clean new hotel, after general renovation in corona period. We enjoyed an amazing view to the lake from the window, a central , but quiet place, and wonderful breakfasts on the roof of the building. Thanks to the owners of hotel for a homely and fun feeling.

I was one of the first to stay in the Sempione after its remodeling, and it is wonderful. Everything brand new, elegant and comfortable. The view from the terrace is unbelievable, and the managers and staff are delightful -- with a real eye for detail. Would definitely go back... soon!

Stresa and Lake Maggiore are not to be missed. The Moderno makes a good base. I suggest you ask about the rooms before selecting, as the hotel encompasses several buildings and the rooms vary. The Hotel is a good value for the price, but it is ageing and somewhat dated. We like firm mattresses and our room had the firmest mattress ever!

At centre location, a block from ferry terminal to islands. Many restaurants within a few blocks. Perfect for a short stay. Coffee is good. Bed is firm, excellent hot shower, water pressure good. Hotel has elevator.

It's a great hotel!! However, if you do not drive it is quite a walk into Stressa. So a taxi is needed it costs roughly 15€. You do get the most amazing views. Breakfast is very simple but you have a wide variety of continental options. No hot breakfast options.

Beautifully perched on a promontory with view over Lake Major. It's best to have your breakfast under the morning sun on the terrace overlooking the lake. From there you can also see some Bartolomeo islands. Very nice. The hotel can serve a good supper with a fair price if asked for. Nearby on the left within a hundred yards there is a church. We had a really nice stay and highly recommend this hotel! The receptionists are super friendly. The hotel rooms are very clean and tidy, with perfect view on the lake. We also really liked the breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast had a great variety, every day different cakes (freshly made) were served. We can also recommend their offer to go for a 3 course dinner at one of the islands.

Very nice accomodation. 2 km from Stresa, however you cannot reach it by foot. There is a bus going to Stresa each hour and coming back, so is easy to reach the town. Just accros the street there is a beach were you can relax and play(for kids). Breakfast is delicios. We enjoyed our time here and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Thank you for all!

The room is very good, the facilities are good, there is a small balcony, but you can't see the lake. The food and service are very good.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views of the lake

Except that the location is not as good as another five-star hotel, (the location is about 1 km away, but at night, when the lights of the two small islands are dim, this point is exceeded), everything else exceeds expectations.

We were very fortunate to stay at such short notice. The staff were super helpful down to the smallest detail, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious! The location was perfect with tremendous views across the lake.

Right next to the pier, you can easily take a cruise around the lake. The hotel provides free parking spaces, but you can ask the front desk if you can't find them. The room is large and it is very comfortable to sunbathe on the balcony.

Located on a small, beautiful island with easy access from Stresa or Baveno with the boat, this place had everything we need. The rooms are modern and clean. We had a very good breakfast with a beautiful view at the lake. The staff helped us with everything.

Our very first hotel stay on our italy trip. A lovely hotel on a tiny island with a very good restaurant. Staff were very pleasent, the room was so quiet except when open to the balcony...the sound of lapping waves...so relaxing. It poured while we were there so we weren't in a rush to get out and about. Front office staff are very helpful

The journey from the airport to hotel was terrible, but the stay at the hotel was very good. At midnight, the hotel owner welcomed us and tells us the most important information. He invited us for a tasty breakfast and the service in the restaurant was nice. The room was very clean and you could relax. The hotel is located in a quiet location.

The receptionist upon our arrival was very welcoming, as was the waitress at lunch and breakfast. The staff were very friendly. Beautiful dining room. Hearty meal. The same goes for breakfast. The only downside was the privacy of the guests in the rooms. The walls must not be thick. We could hear the shutters opening and closing in the neighboring rooms.

We stayed in the apartment next to the hotel. Spacious and modern rooms, in the bathroom and living room a knob was missing from the furniture. Bathroom with very spacious shower and washing machine. Kitchen with dishwasher and kettle. Breakfast: croissants are given per person directly from the kitchen and are really small. Variety of cakes (the chocolate one is sublime), jams and creams with bread...

The tourist menu is great value at €16 for 3 courses. It's a bit old fashioned but service was good.

Lovely hotel in Stresa. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's spotlessly clean. Food in the restaurant good (we stayed half board) with nice simple home-cooked food, usually a fish and meat choice. Breskfast a decent spread of bread, cheese, meat, cereal, fruit etc. and an egg boiler. Room 11 is large, comfortable bed, although wi-fi weak to the point of useless there and lots of TV channels...

Hotel stay: Very pleasant reception! We stayed in quite a normal older room, pretty clean, comfy, good for a short stay, don't expect luxury. For October weather it was fine. We didn't try the restaurant.

We went to this restaurant on our first day in Italy.. Great start for our vacation!! The pizza was very good- The waiters were all very nice and even though our italian isn't even close to good, we could communicate well with them!! All in all a wonderful restaurant!

This place is underrated. Owned and operated by a very nice couple, with great cuisine and rooms that are just fine. Incredibly good value for the little money it costs, including breakfast with homemade cakes.

This was a charming lodge above Lago Maggiore. We could no longer see the lake, but beautiful views in the mountain. The staff were very friendly, the room perfectly fine, and a very good restaurant in the Albergo.

When you hungry and don't have a choice, go there. It is OK but not more. Food is so so, view is great.

We hiked up from Stresa to Mottarone twice this Summer. Stayed at Casa Della Neve on both occasions and I have to say, this place is top notch! Great food, service and staff are always welcoming and super friendly. Will return soon!

Kind of old-school style european hotel - but in a good way. Staff was freindly and the hotel is very well located for restaurants and ferry trips. A moderate walk down the hill from the train station. Some rooms require walking up stairs and this can be tiring for older folks. The low price reflects lack of fancy style, but it is clean and well run.

Well situated for boat tours and restaurants all in walking distance.

The rooms are functional. Bathroom OK. No fridge. Breakfast was good. Location is excellent. Unfortunately my room had no view just a window looking out onto a brick wall. Also if you are on the second floor the lift only went to the first and I and my partner almost got a hernia lugging our bags up a flight of stairs. Also the Wi-Fi did not work on the second floor.

Many things at the lake have stopped in time some 40 years ago, also this hotel. The telephone next to the bed probably soon needs a description for guests to remember what it was once used for. Our room was very clean. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was good too. I really liked the 19th-century style of the hall and the dining room. The relax area and the garden outside is beautiful! I enjoyed my stay at Hotel du Parc.

Excellent place to stay for visiting Stresa and the lake. Hotel was full of character and met our requirements. The selection for breakfast was more than adequate. The owner and staff very friendly and helpful. The only possible negative point was the railway at the back of the hotel but that did not spoil our stay.

No service and can hear noise from trains passing which disturbed sleep. Do not stay in the annex building. It has no elevator and you have to walk pass a gravel path. Reception (a small lady) on arrival was helpful but leaving was really a struggle. No help at all from staff (a big man) when checking out. Breakfast was too packed.
