Nice place. My friends stayed there for two nights. They told me that, they would have stayed longer. Unfortunately the staff (the old man) did not return their smiles nor did he reply to them when they said, "Suostei" to him. Which means hello in khmer.

When my friends addressed his rudeness to the receptionist, she replied, "did doesn't understand" He is khmer and he doesn't understand what Suostei means !!😳😳🤦🏻‍♂️. My friends checked out immediately.

It was a number of things that got built up over the course of their stay.

You could carve the tension in the air.
Perhaps it's time for him to stay at home.. Because he is giving a bad vibe to the business. He definitely doesn't care about repeat business.

The rest of the staff were pleasant (especially when you tipped them $1-$2 for every request) and most of the staff greeted my friends with a smile.

The Wifi is slow. Due to the modem settings that management have set. Very slow. Extremely stingy. All items in the kiosk are over priced. Triple check and photograph every scratch and dint of the motorcycle before you take possession.

Because they won't have mercy on you when you return the bike. They will also attempt to blame you for preexisting damages. Until you show them the photos of the preexisting damages.

When you catch them trying to be deceitful by providing them the photos of the preexisting damages. You will get a dirty look for being to clever. Don't expect to receive an apology.

As a foreigner, miscommunication conflict is always a problem. The staff will always use this issue to their advantage and say to you that, "they don't understand." They understand perfectly and they will improve the vocabulary to make you understand for you to pay up. Even if you don't agree. Common Sense does not prevail.

The same problems as Mr Nils and Mr Salam encountered a year ago.

OMG, they took Mr Salam's visa receipt from his passport. Petty theft and causing him inconvenience at the boarder once he was leaving.

He was stopped at the boarder and he had to pay for the visa receipt again. Shameful acts and deceitfulness / trickery. All because Mr Salam caught the owners trying to over charge $2 on motorbike hire. The owners matched the price of $8. Unfortunately they caused him more inconvenience than $2.

More RED FLAGS !!!

The water pressure was also very weak. Especially in the morning when everyone is taking a shower.

They are very pedantic about the banknotes. Refusal is guaranteed if the Bank notes are not crispy as new.

The same issues as what Michael J. experienced when he stayed there.

Definitely room for improvement.
Removing the old man from the site will be a great start. As you are dismissing, tell the receptionist to go as well.

Generally speaking: Customers do not like to deal or hand over money to people that don't smile and are to arrogant to reply to Suostei (which means hello in khmer)

The irony is, they have a sign saying, 'smile coffee'. They are quite the contradictory to that 'smile coffee' sign.

I guess these issues have not been resolved since Mr bunny (Tour guide operator) was verbally insulted 4 months ago by the lady at reception when he ordered an ice coffee for his customer. ( His grammar was not the best. However, the message was loud and clear!!)

Offering a free coffee does not excuse your rude behavior to the customers. I guarantee you that, you never saw Mr Bunny again to claim his free coffee.

I know now that the old man is the father of the receptionist. That explains everything. 🤷‍♂️🤐

Free advice.
A smile goes a long way and it costs you nothing. Furthermore, if you cannot smile. It is ok to find better staff that can smile, before they destroy your business.

Keep in mind, repeat business is important to stay afloat in these difficult times.

One more thing. In May of 2024. Twenty hotels closed down in Siem Reap alone.

You reap what you sow.
Honesty goes a long way.

The WiFi and shower (both pressure and heat) are what lets this place down. Otherwise we really liked the place; the room was nice & large, hotel & pool area v nicely done. But the shower and WiFi are high on the list for us, and both were unusable for most of our stay.

Service was good but they are extremely particular about the quality of bank notes if you need to pay anything in cash. Twice they rejected our cash when the notes looked fine to me and were accepted without issue elsewhere. So keep some pristine dollar bills ready!
