Unfortunately, this campsite was the only negative experience of our entire trip through Latvia. The owners treated us with completely unwarranted disrespect and rudeness, and on top of that, they kept €40 that we had already paid.
We had originally planned to spend the night here in our campervan. However, after paying for one night, we were directed to a spot that did not suit us, so we decided to leave. The owner herself – in a very aggressive manner – told us that if we didn’t like it, we should go elsewhere. My husband, not knowing that I had already paid for the stay, left without asking for a refund, and the owner did not return the money.
When we later contacted them to request that the amount be transferred back to our account, instead of an apology or a solution, they began sending us photos of the spot, claiming it was still “reserved” for us. They even tried to intimidate us by saying they had our conversation recorded.
The whole experience makes it clear that their priority is not guest satisfaction but money. Even their price list reflects this – you pay extra for a shower, for a dog, and even the smallest camping spots are priced according to their distance from the river.
I would strongly advise against staying here – the owners show no respect for their guests and act dishobestly.
However the place is charging 5e/person extra for shower and electricity is also extra 5e.
In our case the shower had cold water only and when we told about it, the owners were insisting that we were lying! The only place on our trip to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, where we got unfriendly service.
I can not recommend this place, not worth the money!
