Portonovi Resort in Denovic

Portonovi is a lovely development and our appartment is fabulous both in terms of facilities and location. What lets it down is the lack of facilities and the poor quality of the reception and management staff. Our check in was abysmal because we arrived earlier than the stated check in time to be fair but my partner was unwell after a 9 hour journey. Despite requests to get an earlier access to our apartment because of this, there was no accommodation made. We had to wait in the 30 degree heat for three hours. The Portonovi Resort is advertised as having an affiliation with the neighbouring One and Only hotel but this is pretty much a fantasy. We tried to make use of the advertised facilities but were made to feel unwelcome and not worthy of being on the property although we’ve stayed at 5 star hotels all over the world previously. Portonovi is a great concept that could be a hugely successful destination in the region but the infrastructure is being badly let down by the poorly trained staff and the lack of vision to further develop the resort in line with others such as the Sani Resort in Halkadiki in Greece. We are currently looking into leaving Portonovi for alternative venues in Europe which says a lot for the substandard visitor experience here. Very disappointing indeed…
