Good breakfast with quite a variety.
The surroundings are not very interesting but it's quite close to the bay. There is a tour service just outside.

The only positive review, I can give is the location and the cleaniness of the room.
1. The rooms are alright. We were initially offered a corner room by the end of the hotel, which was horrible for a light sleeper like me. I barely slept the first night because I could hear the construction in the building next door! As well as the footsteps in the corridor due to the bed being right next to the door.
2. After the first night, I asked for a room change, which was met with a bit of hesitance but was helped with. Although the new room was bigger, there was another issue.
3. When showering, the water would leak through and cover the bathroom in water. We had to call the reception twice to ask them to clean it. In the end they placed towels on the floor, which they changed daily. Although I appreciate the cleaners effort, it’s simply awful that we are paying for a stay in a place and they can’t even fix the shower!
4. The cleaning could definitely be better. Despite the cleaner being friendly, the room cleaning service was mediocre. There were hairs on the floor and I was given a used towel - it smelt horrific.
The only good thing was the breakfast buffet and the lovely staff working there. They were prompt in removing the dishes and cups, and were very friendly.
Overall, it’s definitely not worthy of 4-stars and it's not a place we will be returning to.
I was dubious about our stay before we came as has very mixed reviews but I'm very glad we chose this hotel as a quick getaway.
The staff are a real credit to this hotel , the hotel is a big one so I've encountered a lot of staff members during my stay & every single one of them has been friendly & helpful.
We are all more than happy with our room , nice balcony , air con works very well which is hard to find & we find the rooms pretty soundproof given it's in a busy area.
Facilities at the hotel are very good & we found it very well organised in all areas.
We had breakfast on booking which we also found very good, lots of choices & replenished by staff very regularly. There is something for everyone & we have a fussy eater in the group. You are not rushed & the choices are great in my opinion.
This hotel is in a prime location & I'd definitely recommend it , As a family we've stayed in Malta before at 5 star places in St Julian's but we've all said we'd prefer to come back here if we do as they make you feel so welcome.
Overall, a brilliant stay at Hotel Santana.

Breakfast was mediocre at best, the food was cold, a toaster which the Victorians would have been proud of and belongs in a museum.
