Overall I would give this a huge 5 star! As the best experience for us. We honestly don't mind to have a walk to Hatten Hotel to get our free breakfast. If it's food, we wouldn't mind it anytime. I read some comments on ho lw they described it as spooky. I don't find it spooky at all. Not to mention the car park is very nearby and there are security guards taking care of the area which I find it secure...
Clean, tidy, and neat room. Seamless check in process. Breakfast was good! Family & couple friendly hotel. Downside: a bit noisy because of the open space concept restaurant But for me everything is great 🎉🎉
Room Aircon not working upon check in. Got technician to service but still not satisfactory, not cool enough. Asked to change room and agreed to send up new room keys. Waited and waited until overslept. Reason: receptionist listened to technician and did not call back that they decided not to change rooms. Later , after dinner decided not to change room any longer. So slept without using quilt/...
Recommended hotel to stay. Corridor entrance is privacy (room facing room type)than the open ones. Also, the security is the top notch. You need an access card whenever you want to get into the lift. A deluxe type room is small but satisfied with cleanliness and facilities, has gym too. Staff is friendly and fast service. Keep it up.
Location is great for us, as we usually shop at the two big malls nearby. Easily walkable to shopping, and lots of great food options. Great value for money as we (a couple and one single) took the family suite, which is 2 rooms plus a very decent living area. Service is nothing to shout about, as we really didn't need much, although when we did ask for bedroom slippers, we were first told they...
The bed was comfy and the room was clean, but we had problem with the shower. The shower drain seemed not working well unless we lift the cover and left it open. Our AC was not cool enough (not sure this is applicable for other rooms as well). Another thing that I noticed, no air conditioner on the ground level except on the third floor where the lobby is. It was humid and hot when I waited at the...

This hotel has crowned my top list of hotel stay. First step in the hotel, you’ll greet with friendly staff and nice smell. Even tho during festival season, the check in and check out process is smooth and fast. I felt the welcoming spirit from the staff, what a Malaysian spirit. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are surprisingly good, all dishes are above average tastiness, you’ll regret if you...
Centralised location. Walking distance to nearby tourist attractions. Staffs are very courteous and helpful. 2-bedroom apartment is spacious! However I have to use some force to close the doors. Breakfast is decent. Only downside is I saw a cockroach while taking a cup of cappuccino at their premier lounge :(
Great location. Lobby was stunning. Next to the mall, close to tourist spots, very close to mahkota hospital Service was excellent. Thank you for being so warm and helpful. All of the staff keeps asking if my sister needed a wheelchair because she was limping after a knee surgery. Overall, small issues here and there but it was still a great stay. We had a good time here! Everyone was super friendly...
Came here for a business trip and thought the junior suite was really comfortable, really clean and quiet as well! Everything was provided for and the check-in/out process was super smooth! In terms of the food, it was alright I would say. Nothing to shout about, especially for breakfast as the pancakes/pastries/bread were quite dry. We had the workshop in Columbus Hall which was honestly a bit dusty...
This is my first time staying at this hotel. It’s a budget friendly hotel for families and kids. The hotel common areas are pleasant looking and generally clean. The rooms need updating though. The housekeeping services need some improvement as we spotted our housekeeper using our bath towels to wipe the bathroom floor, walls and wash basin. I only wonder what other hotel linens are used for what other...
This used to be a good hotel to stay. However, our recent stay was marred by the poor maintenance of the room bathroom where the ceiling was seen covered with moulds and toilet floor and wall grouting, along at the sink side has not been retreated. Their coffee house on level 11 still serves good selection of breakfast. We hope the new management team will look into revitalising the guest rooms as...
All the staff are very friendly especially Mr Mazuan who goes all out to also help me with my son who has autism. He displays understanding of the situation and helps calm my son more than expected.
Very near to shopping mall, located centre of town, near to historical place at malacca and very comfortable hotel.

The staffs was really helpful, Afif doing amazing job during check in- I like how he really explain everything in details and all the other staffs also make me and family feels welcome. Definitely will stay in double tree again when I’m visiting Melaka.
I stayed here for 13 days and the experience was very good. The rooms are big, clean and well equipped. The mattress and pillows are very comfortable. The infinity pool view is very nice and the water is clean, but it is very shallow ( 1.3m or so). The sauna and fitness area are well equipped and mostly not crowded on any day of the week. They also have a children's room with lots of toys and activities...
We were there in late March for 1 King & 1 twin sharing connecting rooms. Check-in was a breeze with the lovely & cheerful Miss Anna helping us. Already made the start of our stay exciting & sweet with free cookies. 😉 Rooms were spacious, plenty of space for us to open our luggage & walking around. The welcome cookie was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. They helped us with our luggage after we checked out. The infinity pool was amazing, and we could see the city view. We also enjoyed the sauna after swimming. The room was spacious, but we couldn’t see the sea. It was very suitable for a family trip, as they had a kids club. Such a great hotel. Staff are lovely and go above and beyond to ensure you feel welcome. Rooms are really nice and spacious, with a nice rainfall shower, comfy bed, and great views. Staff are so friendly and nice. Rooms was old. Getting in the room 1st time got odd smell. Rooms looks very clean. Water heater not really functioning as expected. No toiletries provided. No fridge. Will recommend to others. Good for families or couples.
what I like about this hotel is, its very strategic location with tourist hotspots such as Dataran Pahlawan, Mahkota Parade, Parkson, A Famosa, Family Mart and other interesting places. many restaurants are near here and this hotel is also next to Starbucks. the price is reasonable and the room is very clean and tidy. toilets/bathrooms and other facilities also work well the staff at the reception...
The room is a bit old but at a great location at the centre of the city can't afford expensive hotel this is the right choice for stay.
Good, in the heart of Malacca City, near everything... malay food restaurants, malls, surau & masjid, pahlawan walk, jonker street, menara taming sari etc. Room? Value for money, only RM90.00 per-nite for two single beds room (have window). BUT NO LIFT/ELEVATOR, a walk up budget hotel, surely unfriendly for OKUs & seniors. That's my review. This is my 2nd time staying here. Go elsewhere if you are going for the clean posh hotel, this hotel is not for you. The building is old and facilities have seen better days. I was looking for a budget hotel and booked this hotel (twin bed + window room) for 2 nights after finding a good deal on Agoda. I've stayed in many budget hotels and this one definitely exceeded my expectations. Very old and rundown hotel. Carpets having musty smell. In my room one of the side table is missing. Aircond take a long time for cooling and the buttons are faulty - need press multiple times. I was there with large group for an International Convention recently. The spaces in hotel were large and we didn't feel cramped. Lighting and sound systems were efficient. it’s a nice place. I didn’t explore everywhere, cause we stayed just for one night.. but our room was nice, big bathroom I liked, enough space in the room and huge bed
It was a nice, smooth stay. Good location but the hotel lacks attention to details: no soap holder so soap keeps falling into sink; no stopper in sink so any falling object will be lost; no mirror in the room; inside door lock didn't work; pillow was too soft. Old hotel, looks pretty old inside, however, interior are well maintain even thou the building and equipment is old. Buffet is better than I expected. However, I felt the dessert they can improve even better. Butter cake taste like very artificial flavour and can felt the food colour taste at the end. Service given is superb for a 4 star hotel.
Stayed there a night for my brother in law's wedding reception. It's an old hotel and perhaps a little dated in it's deco but the level of service and the food surpasses what I've come to expect. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast- excellent! You'll never go wrong with a stay here. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable stay.
Old, but still Gold. Pretty well maintained for her age, the rooms and fittings were funtional but not worn. The only remarks I have is that the function hall smelled of food most of the time, I guess the ventilation isn't quite up to speed. After so many years, the hotel rooms, facility , gym room, lobby etc are still well maintained! Really impressive despite the shower h as in the shower room needs to replace. The toilet may need some refresh similarly to the bed. Overall is still clean and nice.. keep it up! Very assessable to amenities and restaurants. Walking distance to many food place and the shopping mall too! Great to stay here...
One of the older hotels in Malacca, Equatorial is at a strategic location. Close to historical sites and town area. But on weekends the traffic is bad. With the emergence of new boutique hotels, tourists are preferring other places to stay. This hotel needs to create something new to make it attractive again. The rooms are rather old. And the rates are not competitive.

Rooms are very cosy. Ten minutes walking from old square which is nice. Staff in the morning is helpfull but staff in evening does not speak English, only Chinese. We did our laundry here and came back wet and without iron service. We had to iron it ourselfs.
The room is nice and clean. The service is good. The staffs are friendly and helpful. We stayed at the level two with the window, unfortunately is quite noisy due to its location next to the main road. After all it is a good place to stay in Melaka, walking distance to the river and main attractions as well as a local peranakan cusine restaurant Manis J. :)
This hotel is good and very clean. I stay at G02 today. The air condition and waters heater is good. Hope to stay longer here but many shop and tourists attraction is close due to covid-19. The hotel is clean and nice. The staff also very helpful and friendly. The waterpark is quite fun. Suitable for family with children. They also give free tickets to Art 3D Museum which is so lit and fun.
The room is rather small. The water park seems dead but surprisingly fun and filled with attendees. It's a good place to stay and the rate is quite cheap. I recommend the studio room. It's more spacious compared to the two room suite.
Good place for families with kids as they have a mini water park. Each unit will be entitled to free passes. Lift very slow and during peak times, you’d have to wait many rounds before getting in.
It is a water them park. There is slides for both adult and kids. The park looks a bit old but still OK. There also features a ATV rides, a small train rides and also archery range that need to pay extra apart from the entrance ticket. The entrance ticket which is a wrist band is what you pay for everything in the park. To top-up a minimal of RM20 at counter in the park.
Very good and tidy rooms. Feels very cosy to stay in. However, service can be improved by the people. Should smile more often

Great for the ambience and a once in a lifetime experience of staying in a pine log resort in Malaysia. Perfect for couples but do ask for the top villa. We assembled here for a team building exercise. Good ambience and serene. Spa and Karaoke are highlights here. The fish feeding was unique. There are some golf courses about 15 minute drive from here. Concierge was helpful in getting the reservations done.
Great nature environment, quiet and the best part the hotel service is honest. I left my sunglasses and money pouch and they kept it for us until we collect it back. Only thing you need to be cautious is mosquitoes and hot n' cold bath due to heater unable to accommodate excessive use. Hence, a "Scottish bath" for you to try.

The location was good, stay was comfortable, beds were comfortable. The room had a bit of a bad smell, we had to change 3 rooms, but we were able to live with it and the hotel was very accomodating and ensured that they provided us with a room we were satisfied with.
I am staying for 3 day and 2 night here for work related seminar. The room were clean, I can say new and feel fresh. The food were wonderfully delicious. I love their automatic coffee machine where I easily can get an espresso, cappuccino, or just Americano. The hotel dining area is very clean and comfortable suitable for couples or even for a family. They even has spa service if you want to.
Come back to visit Melaka after many years and decided to stay at the same hotel we did before. Staff were as usually friendly and helpful. Ample parking and big clean lobby as we have remembered. The room is spacious enough for our family of four including two young kids, yet it is showing signs of aging; old wood furnishings, leaking fridge and slight musky smell which was overcome by a strong fragrance...
Clean and spacious rooms. Nice breeze from the sea. Friendly staff. The gym and the pool looked good too, but we didn’t get to use them (too many people in the holiday season). If your room is facing the food court / market, it could get noisy in the evening. They played loud and annoying music until Midnight. Minus 1 star because of that. Perhaps the management should do something about this. We...
Well maintained hotel, condition is still clean and nice. Sea or city view to choose, both are nice. Though sea view is slowly cluttered with new development. Hotel away from crowds with nice swimming pool with separate pool for kids. There is a convenience stall within the hotel. Breakfast served in 2nd floor with good variety of food. There is even a children food corner.
Been here for my mom's retirement ocassion.Very nice and calming environment ; perfect concept and atmosphere.. but a lot of things that can be improved such as food served during hi tea. Food choices should be attractive, healthy instead of delicious.

Mahkota Hotel Melaka
Malacca, No. 16 Jalan Syed Abdul Aziz 🧭 Map
We stayed in one of many short stay rentals available in this very big complex. There are 8 wings surrounding a central pool area. Each wing has 4 or more apartments to a level, from 3 to 12 in each. There is ample parking at level 1 and also at ground level. The exterior is showing its age, given the environment, but at least in the case of the apartment we rented from AirBnB, the interior fitout...
Apartment unit (5062) is nice and clean, seems newly renovated, strong wifi, friendly and helpful host. Only thing is the unit is facing the closed Mahkota Hotel blocks, which looks very dark at night.
The place I rent was super dirty. The Closet in my room had cleaning stuff and curtains that are thrown together. Anyway not a bad location if you can find a clean house.
Nice place with swimming pool.
We stayed in the renovated rooms in the mainblock (block 9). Rooms are spacious, well furnished and comfortable. We had a poolview room which made the stay even better. Food good as always and staff is attentive and courteous.
Spacious rooms and apartments but the place is definitely quite run down compared to all the new hotels that are popping up around Melaka. The place is in need of an upgrade. Plus points are the 2 large swimming pools which kids will enjoy and close proximity to Mahkota mall. We also had their buffet breakfast for RM 29 which was surprisingly good.
