Southern Lanta Resort Hotel in Lanta Island

We stayed from January 18–22, 2026. Overall, our stay was acceptable. The breakfast selection was not special, and room cleaning was quite late. On one afternoon, we returned from a diving class at around 3:00 PM, and the room had still not been cleaned. While this was slightly inconvenient, it was not our main concern.
On January 22 at around 4:00 PM, we needed to transfer to another hotel approximately 27 minutes away. We asked the hotel to arrange a taxi and were informed that the fare would be 1,000 THB. We were surprised and asked for clarification, and the reason given was the distance and the fact that we had four pieces of luggage.
As we were tired after diving and it was already late, we agreed. However, upon arrival at the next hotel, we were informed that the normal taxi rate for this distance on the island would usually not exceed 250 THB per person, including luggage.
We believe that overcharging, whether toward foreign or Thai guests, is inappropriate and disappointing. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and affected our overall impression of the stay.

if you come here just to sleep, it's just fine (not more) small bungalow, very small bathroom, but the staff is friendly.
The beach is very close and big, ideal for kids.
There is nothing open in the evening so you will be forced to drink something in another place, the good thing is that there are a few nice places next door and accesable by the beach.
The WIFI is only working on times that a few people are using it, that means before 08:00 or after 22:30 and when ist working its very slow! I needed it every day for work so i was forced to visit local restaurants with wifi to get online...
The breakfast has nothing to do with Thai and it is as if you are in a european hotel, no thai food any day. i found some friend, but even this simple dish was made without the believe anybody would eat it...
If you think that you can eat Thai food for lunch or diner, think twice!
i ordered a Peanang Curry wich is one of the purest diches in Thailand, you just cannot change it.. But they did, they served me chicked strips in a creamy sweet yellow sauce, no vegatables what so ever! I asked them about the flavour on wich they said: the tourist dont like spicy and dont like the vegatables so we make it sweet and dont use vegatbles...
They charge for me and my family for New Years Eve Diner a stunning 180 euro's (2 adult, 2 kids 2 and 8 years) and i was not happy when i saw the menu... i'm trying to get a refund on that because of the poor quality of the resorts kitchen but will be surprised if they will give me any money back...
