I chose this place based on reviews, but after a tiring journey from the airport, the experience was disappointing. On arrival, we were informed it was entirely self-service. This might be fine for a solo traveler or a couple, but definitely not suitable for families. We had to carry our large suitcases ourselves to the rooms.
The rooms turned out to be very small, making it uncomfortable for all of us. If you dislike confined spaces, this is not the place for you. The swimming pool was tiny — more like a pond — with no towels provided. Food was also unavailable, so you’d need to look outside for meals. No bathtubs were provided despite being shown in the pictures, and staff presence was very limited.
The room we were given had a balcony that could easily be accessed by children to climb onto the roof — extremely unsafe for families with little ones, as you’d need to watch them constantly. Despite requesting a refund for our 4-day booking, the staff refused, so we ended up vacating early and moving elsewhere.
On the positive side, the interiors were aesthetically pleasing with creative wall art in the shared spaces, and they did offer board games. Still, as the saying goes, all that glitters is not gold.

I had an amazing stay at Blu Monkey Hotel and highly recommend it, close to everywhere! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist whenever needed. A special mention goes to New—he’s truly a superstar there and absolutely rocks it!

Blu Monkey hotel was a great find! Excellent value for money, comfy rooms, and the laundry service was a lifesaver. The pool was a lovely spot to chill out. Banana pancakes at breakfast were a highlight! Only suggestion would be to keep the buffet breakfast warm for longer. Big thanks to Paul at the front desk for his friendly help and assistance. Would definitely recommend!

Perfectly located in Phuket town. For anyone who would like to wander around the old town, this is the place for you. Great staff, room and bathtub were clean, breakfast and some freebies were superb. I love how we were accomodated to have an early check-in too.

average for the price, especially in low season. the location is good for Phuket Town. However, the particular room we had smelt bad due to the shower drain.

First of all, I want to express my deep gratitude to the hotel staff member named Mind. She is incredibly helpful, attentive, and does her job excellently. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, beautiful rooms with great beds, an awesome atmosphere, and most importantly for me: plenty of coworking space. You can work comfortably on your laptop either in the large shared area or in private rooms where no one will disturb you. The location is perfect, it'a just a 2 minute walk from Phuket Bus Terminal 1, where you can catch buses to anywhere around Phuket or even outside the island. I will definitely keep coming back to this hotel again. It is a wonderful place, especially if you need to work online, the setup here is perfect for that. No need to search for coffee shops for that at all.

We absolutely loved this cute little hotel. The room was clean and everything worked perfectly.
Service was great. Look for Tick, she's efficient and friendly -- and has a good memory for which room you're in. We didn't feel like anonymous customers in those big hotels. Happy with the service.
The common spaces were great as well. Good desks to sit and do some work, although WiFi was pretty average.
Only two suggestions: The floor in the room is mopped with a slippery cleaner. Can be dangerous. Second, the room lights are white. Changing those to a warmer colour would make the rooms a lot more comfortable at night.
