Reviews
We mentioned on our booking we were vegan yet every… single… meal… was a battle having to explain that we don’t eat animal products. A 5-stars hotel with about 10 occupied rooms should know the bare minimum about their guests in order to make them feel like they are in good hands. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case.
Another star was deducted for the quality of the rooms. Perhaps we were unlucky but our villa needed some renovations and, because BOTH the shower and bath are outside, you end up having no choice but showering with leaves, mosquitoes and spiders which is sub-optimal to say the least. They said the shower can be covered to avoid contact with insects which we requested but they never covered the shower for us. Additionally, the private pool in our villa was stagnant and lacking chlorine which made it a mosquito heaven.
Now to finish on positive notes, the beach was beautiful and well maintained. The beach amenities (kayak, paddle board) are free and available all day. The staff, whilst clueless about dietary restrictions, was lovely and helpful.
Overview:
Our recent stay at Paradee Koh Samet was a mixed bag of experiences. While the location, right on the beach and surrounded by privacy, offered a serene setting, several aspects left much to be desired.
Pros:
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the stunning location. Situated right on the beach, the hotel offers breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility that is hard to match. For those seeking a private getaway, this is an ideal spot.
Cons:
Unfortunately, the overall vibe of the hotel fell short of expectations. Despite its 5-star rating, we found the atmosphere lacking warmth and character. One significant disappointment was the dining options. With only one restaurant available, the food failed to excite. For a hotel of this caliber, we expected a more diverse and gourmet culinary experience.
Accommodation:
We opted for the front beach villa, which boasted beautiful surroundings and comfortable amenities. However, our experience was marred by the quality of the mattress. Despite the luxurious setting, the bed was equipped with a mattress that was far from adequate. Both my husband and I experienced discomfort and woke up with back pain, resulting in a restless night's sleep. This was unexpected and greatly impacted our overall enjoyment of the stay.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, while hotel offers a picturesque location and decent accommodation, there are significant areas for improvement, particularly in terms of comfort and dining options. For guests seeking a serene beachfront retreat, the hotel may still hold appeal, but be prepared for some shortcomings in the overall experience.
Would be nicer if you have more activities on regular days ~ ice bath, swing at the beach, yoga
You rarely get an island hotel with both sunset and sunrise views and this one has them. Perfect luxurious weekend getaway from Bangkok.
Food offered here is also very good. Definitely would recommend staying here.
- The beach is infested with sand flea and the bites are horribly itching and uncomfortable even if you used the repellent the resort provides (I usually don't mind mosquitos bites but it's been 5 days and still itching crazy).
- It's overpriced, I expected better quality and service for this kind of money. I had to bring my own towel on the beach sun-beds many times as no staff was looking after this area.
- The staff stare at you while eating, they probably mean well and just want to make sure you have everything you need but it's super creepy.
- Coffee tastes bad.
- Speed boat private service is awesome
- Food is average
- Room cleaning & room service is very fast
- It's little too far from the rest of the island.
We will go to Le Vimarn next time, the bay is gorgeous, 3 times cheaper, same or higher standards than Paradee, better location and we didn't experience sand flea there.
Hope it helps
Problem is: I have to wait a long time before the boat arrives at the pier
