Food / Drink
Food was not good, seemed to be the same food reused for each meal eg rice. Not your typical all inclusive buffet and had stale cereal and bread ( butter was only provided in the morning so at lunch/dinner you were to have dry bread). There was some random bits like meat and soup and a sad salad station. Desserts looked like they had been injected with oil.
Nothing was labeled, so you were playing russian roulette with what you were eating - not good for those with allergies or intolerances!
Knew it was only soft drinks, beer and wine included in all inclusive however they are very stingy with the cup sizes - small cups or half pints. Slushys are also not included which was sad. Had an incident with a staff member where he refused to take my money saying it was damaged and insisted i had smaller change. After HE took the small notes from MY purse and counted it he realised i was right. This caused me unnecessary stress and i found this to be unacceptable especially being a solo female. He took the original money after this and afterwards i let the manager know but the staff members seemed to target me after that.
Would not go all inclusive here, there are plenty of restaurants nearby for breakfast lunch and dinner and an onsite market for cheap drinks and crisps.
Got told to wear a top to the restaurant despite multiple people wearing just bikinis, mesh cover ups and men being topless. I was the only one told to cover up.
Pool/Beach
There was insufficient sun loungers in both the beach and pool which resulted in people “ reserving “ chairs with towels and then not using them. This meant you were at risk of not having anywhere to sit. The pool was also closed for part of my stay due to an issue with the motor system or something, and there was no rush to fix it. No more sun loungers were put on the beach to accommodate this so people were just left standing with nowhere to go.
Also pool is only 1.25m deep, and “ kids pool” is like a small puddle.
Although it said no kids under 12 allowed in the adult pool, obviously they weren’t gonna sit ankle deep in a pool like that - just to keep in mind.
Staff
The reception staff were all very polite and even carried my suitcase up the stairs for me, and checking in with me throughout my stay. The man working in the market was so kind and welcoming. Definitely helped me feel at ease with being a solo traveller.
Would definitely recommend getting a massage at the spa, good prices and well trained staff.
As previously mentioned the older staff at the restaurant were rude and condescending, but the younger staff were extremely hard working and paid attention to the little things which did not go unnoticed.
Room
Standard room; clean enough, balcony was very thin but would be enough for 2 people and i assume larger rooms have larger balconies.
Plenty of storage and a large mirror !
Shower is okay, poor water pressure and water goes from cold to roasting very fast but does the job. I don’t trust the lock on the door, i don’t believe it locks from the inside. And locking it when leaving the room is difficult which makes me doubt the safety.
No lifts.
Also there’s a bar/club next door so expect loud music late at night ( i’m young enough that this doesn’t bother me)
Overall, room was satisfactory for price, all staff except the fossils in the restaurant were lovely, location was fine and food was diabolical.
Food is good, plenty to choose from and plenty of efes to see me through the next 10 day's
Room: Upon entering the room, the first thing we noticed was a damp patch on the wall under the air conditioning (likely because the AC drainage wasn't properly insulated), extending behind the mirror beneath the AC. The mirror under the AC was swollen and falling apart, probably due to condensation from the unit. The furniture (1x double bed, 1x standard bed, table, chairs) wasn’t of much importance, though it was quite old. The bathroom looked "OK," but it was clear that hygiene wasn’t at an acceptable level. The shower was broken, but since water was still flowing, we didn’t complain. The floor is cleaned with one mop, which isn’t rinsed as they go from room to room, and the same mop is used for both the bathroom and the room – which is absurd, so we didn’t let our son crawl on the floor. The hotel doesn’t have an elevator, but we accepted a room on the third floor because it was the only one with a sea view.
Restaurant: The ambiance was decent with a sea view, but the food was mostly mixed and recycled dishes, with few whole food options. Leftovers from breakfast were used for lunch, and lunch leftovers for dinner. The food was often oily and unappetizing. Every day they served a meat roll, which I later found out was made from sheep intestines. The only recognizable meat in seven days was chicken skewers on one occasion. Sweets were monotonous, and the only fruit available was apples, far below our expectations. We ended up buying baby food locally since the "all-inclusive" package lacked proper options for our son.
My wife had severe food poisoning, and we had to spend a full day (24 hours) in the hospital (luckily, the hospital experience was far better than the hotel). The doctor said she probably ingested bacteria from the vegetables (salad) she ate, which was washed with local water, although that water isn’t drinkable, and he advised us to avoid fruit and vegetables in the restaurant or wash them with bottled water.
Beach (the biggest disappointment): Sunbeds and umbrellas were included and always available, but we spent only two hours at the beach over seven days. The water entry was dangerous due to large rocks along Cleopatra Beach, and rough waves constantly pushed people against them. My wife cut her foot on the first day, so we avoided the beach and used the hotel pool, though sunbeds there were very limited. We were told the beach is Blue Flag-rated and home to sea turtles, but the large rocks made it nearly unusable. Other guests had similar or worse experiences, and by the last two days, I resorted to eating at Burger King to avoid food poisoning, as staying one more day would push me into suicide.
Please understand that I haven’t been to the seaside in 10 years, and it would have been enough if the beach had been decent for me not to care about anything else. However, since the beach was unusable, I had time to scrutinize everything else.
IMPORTANT:
Completely rely on the reviews on Google. I made a big mistake by starting to read them two days before the trip, and by then it was already too late.
There are bad reviews of this place and I am sorry to say that they are all 100% correct. I would never come here again.
After night arrival we had to pay 80 EUR for a "better" room, otherwise it was completely on the ground floor with a view nowhere from the oldest speaker.
In the week we lost the card controlling the air conditioning from our room.
After asking at reception I described the problem of losing the card from the room, was told you lost it, it's not my problem, pay 20EUR!
I explained the difference of loss and when you lose a card from a locked room, it is still repeated Lost and it is your problem!
On the last day of our stay, although we had paid for the room until 12 pm the next day, we were asked, for a free beer, to leave the room at 10 pm, that guests with a small child would arrive. Apparently another 80 euros for a better room.
With that I salute the receptionist with pigment.
Upon returning home we discovered the loss of a few small items such as a back rehab roller, better not to look for the rest.
The food was the same over and over again, what was left from dinner was for breakfast. French fries.
We were told there was a budget problem, sorry...
The all-inclusive price included wine and beer + soft drinks.
Waiters, gentleman on the beach very helpful and nice, but what saves the bandit at the front desk?
A big disappointment and never again such a hotel.
Was nearly cleaned daily, AC worked well. The territory is really looked after. Friendly and polite staff. Absolutely great and affordable SPA, had a two hour procedure package for 30€. What you need to keep in mind that you should take sea/pool towels, and think about special shoes, as the sea shore
and entrance to the sea is rather rough and tough..what I didn't like was breakfast it was rather miserable. Generally, the food
choice was low, all the same pretty much no variety, but fresh. Some people mentioned there is cats, but for me this wasn't a problem as .they only approach if you invite it. Bet, don't forget to have all the toiletries and soap you use as these are not provide either. Regarding then noise from the street or the mosque , didn't bother me at all times, my room was upstairs. If you are coming with kids who had been spoilt by 5*hotel animation you're gonna have a tough time, otherwise no animation was not a problem for my family. There's a kid's pool 50cm deep separatd from, the other 1,46cm one. There were always enough sunbeds there and the beach was never crowded. I did like the place in general. Many thanks for your hospitality and welcome.
