Emre & Afet & Milan
Fast forward 9 years later the family desperately wanted to return so we booked the yacht classic hotel La Mason house that is suitable for families.
On entry the house is stunning, huge space, top of the line everything, 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, beautiful views.
Unfortunately we ran into some issues. Firstly the road to cross to the hotel is not the nicest, it’s about 50mts up the road so you feel slightly detached from the hotel.
The staff didn’t seem to know or understand the house as they gave us incorrect information on check in. There is no phone in the house to call for assistance. (They told us to dial 0), we weren’t given the what’s app and they don’t respond to what’s app anyway.
The plug for the bath was broken and the hot water broke and we couldn’t have showers the first night. I had to cross the road at night to seek assistance to which I was told someone would fix it the next day.
Now when you are paying the price we were, that’s honestly isn’t good enough (the last hotel we stayed in Bodrum, a bed broke and we had someone there in 10mins, at 10pm at night fixing, cleaning and doing everything to repair the problem, and the hotel was half the price of this one).
The next day I demanded to speak to the manager. And after some ‘discussion’ they fixed the problems and sent some wine and fruit. Which is something but again, no showers in a place that is 400 euros a night??
They then turned on all the heaters? Not sure if this was related to the water heater but we were then dealing with a house that was half heating half air conditioning the place, and the water still wasn’t great, it didn’t go cold but it would run out quickly.
Hotel itself was still stunning, pool area is breathtaking, breakfast was sooooo good. Sunbeds beautiful. Beds in the house and bedding was amazing.
Cocktails are criminally expensive but also so so good.
Staff would provide plenty of water and let us stay after checkout around the pool for our late flight.
It’s still a stunning hotel, I still love this hotel, the service could do with some improvements, it’s not the value for money it once was (as is most of Turkey), but it is still beautiful and provides excellent quality in regards to the pool, breakfast and bedding.
From the outset, the customer service was abysmal. After booking a couple of days in advance, I tried multiple times to contact the hotel to inquire about some details. Despite my repeated attempts via email and WhatsApp, I received no response until I had already arrived at the hotel. This lack of communication caused unnecessary stress and frustration.
Whole experience felt robotic and lacked any personal touch, making the experience feel more like a conveyor belt—just in and out with no effort to make guests feel welcome. This impersonal approach extended to the staff at the Mori Restaurant, who seemed utterly miserable. There were no smiles, and when I requested coffee in the morning, the waiter abruptly informed me that there would be an extra charge. While I don’t mind paying extra, the attitude was off-putting.
Moreover, I was puzzled by the positive reviews about the breakfast. In my opinion, it was below par with not much variety. To make matters worse, there were flies all around, sitting on the food, which was quite off-putting.
In summary, while the Yacht Classic Hotel boasts clean rooms and a nice building, the lack of decent customer service and poor overall experience outweighs these positives. When staying at a hotel, one expects to be treated nicely by the staff, and unfortunately, this was not the case here. I felt unwelcome and disappointed throughout my stay.
Service was poor. We have many examples. My favorite was that we asked for 2 wine glasses and a wine opener as my girlfirend and I were going to enjoy the hot tub on our deck. After 2 phone calls and waiting 30 minutes, we called a 3rd time and the front desk told us that they couldn’t provide this and that we would have to go to the restaurant on the first floor ourselves to get this. So I was forced to change out of my swim trunks and go to the outside restaurant to get a wine opener and glasses. Seriously? On my way back to the room, I stopped by the front desk and graciously thanked the 3 people sitting there on their cellphones for their hard work. We will not be back.
