Villa Kiva Boutique Hotel

I went there to have some mango ice cream. They charged 2$ for a scoop. They didn't have plastic spoon so I couldn't take it away. But I loved sitting there and having that ice cream. The view was excellent. Ice cream had more ice than the flavor of fruit. It was certainly not the best of ice creams I ever had. But the music and view was definitely the best.

I really liked that the property features traditional Zanzibari architecture, beautifully interwoven with modern comforts, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel has an access to the white sand beach and turquoise waters are perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

Accommodations: Our room at Villa Kiva was spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the essentials. I stayed in a deluxe room with stunning views of the ocean, complete with a private balcony where I could enjoy my morning coffee while watching the sunrise. The beds were comfortable, ensuring restful nights after long days of exploration. The blend of traditional Swahili decor with modern amenities created a cozy sanctuary, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.

Dining Experience: The dining at Villa Kiva was a highlight of my stay. The hotel’s restaurant offers a delightful selection of local and international cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh seafood that was caught daily. I particularly enjoyed the Zanzibar-style seafood curry, bursting with flavor, and the breakfast spread was a delicious way to start each day. The atmosphere in the restaurant, especially during sunset, was truly magical and often accompanied by the sound of gentle waves lapping at the shore.

Activities and Services: I appreciated the friendly staff who were always ready to assist with arranging excursions, whether it was a spice tour, snorkeling, or a visit to the famous Stone Town. The hotel also provides kayaking and snorkeling gear, making it easy to enjoy the surrounding waters.

Service: The service at Villa Kiva deserves a special mention. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. From the welcoming check-in to the personalized recommendations for local attractions, their hospitality was genuine and heartfelt.

This hidden gem is the perfect romantic retreat for couples! Our five-day vacation was nothing short of extraordinary, with stunning rooms, breathtaking sea views, delectable dining options, and unparalleled service that truly made us feel like cherished guests, rather than mere tourists.

Very quiet and small hotel along a white beach. Very good restaurant, beautiful garden, beautiful views, good swimming pool. The staff were very nice and welcoming. However, the bathrooms require some renovation.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Villa Kiva this September and we had the most pleasant, comfortable stay. The staff is super friendly, very welcoming and the food is amazing. The set menu every night ( which was part of our half board package ) was so good, with different choices and amazing desserts.
A special thanks to Mercy at the reception which was always very helpful and very sweet.

Fabulous location, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms large very clean and comfortable mattress. A la card menu available all day, fresh homemade local food. We will definitely cam back!!

We ordered seafood pasta, cheeseburger and Cezar salad. It’s was a very delicious. Service is good 👍🏼 Also the view from the restaurant is amazing 🤩

We had an amazing experience at Villa Kiva .
We only came for a coffee and ice cream but we got looked after by 2 outstanding employees called Kidawa and Omar .
By the way you have the best Cinnamon ice cream on the island . We couldn’t find anything even remotely similar to what we have been served at your place . Thumbs up

We stayed here after climbing Kilimanjaro, the perfect place for some rest & relaxation. Beautiful setting, great staff, great rooms, clean & well cared for! Options to go out & about too!

Lovely hotel, right on the beach. The beach here is beautiful and you can swim here at high tide. Just be aware that there are loads of sea urchins.

The food is good and the menu has a decent amount of options. We did find it a bit inconsistent though. The same dish would taste quite different on different days, which could be a bit disappointing when you really enjoyed something.

The service is good - friendly and quick.

The rooms are nice - beds are comfortable and there is enough space.

Loved this hotel. It's by the beach and the food is to die for. Breakfast was complementary and had lots of choices, rooms were nicely decorated. The only downside of staying here is it's far from the airport or port at least and hour and taxi will cost 70,000 Tshs if you get them from downtown but if you take them from the airport they will charge $100.
